When an Overwatch Mythic skin’s featured season ends, the skin leaves the Mythic Shop for the next two seasons. Blizzard says it gets another chance to appear in the shop in the third season after its debut. If you unlocked its base level before the featured season ended, you can still unlock its remaining customization levels while it is away.
When does a Mythic skin return to the shop?
Blizzard’s Mythic Shop FAQ says a featured Mythic hero skin is available for that season, then cycles out of the shop for the following two seasons. If you miss it, the next opportunity under that policy is the third season after its debut. That is a return window, not a guarantee that a skin is permanently lost.

It depends on whether you unlocked the base level while the skin was featured:

This distinction is about access to further progression, not losing something you already unlocked. Blizzard’s FAQ says owners of the base level can continue upgrading while the skin is out of the shop.
How do Mythic Prisms fit in?
Mythic Prisms are the currency Blizzard uses in the Mythic Shop to unlock Mythics and their customizations. The amounts and tier structure can change, so check the current shop for the item’s price and available upgrades rather than relying on older figures.
For historical context, Blizzard’s Season 10 announcement in 2024 described a base level costing 50 Prisms and three additional levels costing 10 each, for 80 total. Completing that season’s Premium Battle Pass provided 80 Prisms. Those were Season 10 terms, not a promise about current prices or every Mythic.
Why check the current shop for each skin?
Mythic customization and item types have evolved since the shop launched. Blizzard’s Season 19 update said Tier 1 would provide the complete Mythic skin design, with later tiers adding components, colors, and ambient effects. Its Season 17 announcement described both a Mythic hero skin and a Mythic weapon skin becoming available at launch.

Blizzard’s 2026 Overwatch Spotlight said the year’s seasons would bring two new Mythic hero skins per season. That roadmap does not establish when a particular older skin will return. For a specific Mythic, check the live Mythic Shop and the current season announcement for its availability, tiers, and Prism cost.
