If EA permanently retires the servers that run Online Dynasty, the league and its server-hosted data should be treated as inaccessible through the game. The commissioner and members would lose online synchronization, invitations and cross-play. An offline Dynasty may continue to work where the game supports offline play, but it is a separate mode and is not a documented conversion of your existing online league. EA has not published a user-facing export or migration procedure for Online Dynasty saves.
Why an Online Dynasty depends on EA’s servers
Online Dynasty is not simply a local Dynasty file shared between consoles. The mode uses EA’s online services to hold league information, coordinate users and synchronize changes. EA’s Dynasty guidance identifies Online Dynasty as an online mode and recommends at least 2 Mbps download speed and 0.5 Mbps upload speed for the online experience. It also says that a Dynasty can include up to 32 users.

That architecture creates a hard distinction between an online league and an offline Dynasty. EA explicitly says offline Dynasty cannot access online data, invite other players or use cross-play. If the service that provides the online data is retired, the game has no documented local substitute that can automatically take over the league.

For College Football 26, EA describes a 32-person Online Dynasty with cross-platform Dynasty play. Cross-platform participation does not remove the server dependency; it is another service coordinated by EA’s online infrastructure.

What a permanent shutdown would change
EA’s service-updates policy explains that online features can be withdrawn or older online services retired. Applying that policy to Online Dynasty leads to the following practical result: once the relevant service is no longer available, the online league should stop functioning. EA has not issued a College Football-specific promise to preserve, download or convert a cloud Dynasty, so this conclusion is an inference from the mode’s documented online-data requirement and EA’s shutdown policy rather than a guaranteed product feature.
| Feature | Expected result after the Online Dynasty service is retired |
|---|---|
| Opening the existing online league | The server-hosted league should no longer be available through the game. |
| League synchronization | Stops because consoles and PCs can no longer exchange Dynasty changes with EA’s service. |
| Commissioner and member access | Online access ends for both the commissioner and participating users. |
| Invitations | Unavailable; EA lists invitations as an online capability that offline Dynasty does not provide. |
| Cross-play | Unavailable in offline Dynasty, so cross-platform league participation ends with the online service. |
| Offline Dynasty mode | May remain playable if the particular game still supports offline operation, but it is not the same cloud league. |
| Save export or migration | No documented user-facing procedure is provided by EA in its published guidance. |
The exact symptoms could vary with the game’s final client update. A title might show an error, remove an online menu or allow the menu to open but fail when it tries to retrieve league data. None of those interface details should be interpreted as evidence that the cloud save has been converted to a local file.
Will your online league disappear?
The league’s online state
Players should plan on losing access to the online state of the league, including its shared schedule, standings, roster changes and other synchronized progress, when the service hosting that state is retired. The important distinction is between “the game can still launch” and “the online Dynasty can still be retrieved.” EA’s statement that offline Dynasty cannot access online data means an offline launch does not, by itself, expose the old league.

What “disappear” means in practice
“Disappear” does not necessarily mean every byte is immediately erased from EA’s infrastructure. It means players should no longer expect the game to authenticate, retrieve or update that data. EA’s public service policy does not promise continued player access after retirement, nor does it specify a post-shutdown download window for Dynasty files.
Temporary outage versus retirement
A short outage is different from a permanent retirement. During an outage, the service may return and the league may become available again; repeatedly reinstalling the game or creating an offline Dynasty will not repair a server-side outage. A retirement is an announced end to support for the relevant online feature. Until EA posts a formal notice, a failed login alone is not proof that the service has been permanently shut down.
Can you keep playing the Dynasty offline?
An existing Online Dynasty is not documented to convert
EA says some games whose online services are no longer available may still be played offline. That statement preserves the possibility of offline gameplay, not the online league itself. Offline Dynasty cannot access online data, send invitations or use cross-play, so it should be understood as a separate mode with its own local or device-dependent progress.

There is no published EA procedure that tells a commissioner to select an online league and convert it into an offline Dynasty. Without such a procedure, assume that starting an offline league creates a new Dynasty rather than opening the old one. Do not delete the game, clear saved data or overwrite local files in the hope of forcing a conversion.

- Can provide: continued access to offline features that remain supported by the installed game, subject to platform requirements and any updates EA releases.

Can you download or transfer an Online Dynasty save?
EA’s published Dynasty guidance and shutdown information do not document an export button, downloadable archive, local backup format or transfer tool for Online Dynasty. Treat claims that a cloud league can be downloaded or converted as unverified unless EA publishes a specific procedure for the relevant game and platform.
Players can still preserve information that is visible before a shutdown. The following does not create a playable replacement save, but it can retain a record of the league:
- Capture the league’s identity. Record the Dynasty name, commissioner, members, platform accounts and the game edition being used.
- Document progress. Save screenshots or video of schedules, standings, conference settings, recruiting boards, key rosters, awards and house rules that matter to your group.
- Write down the current season state. Include week, playoff status, team assignments and any pending user actions so the group can reconstruct decisions later.
- Ask EA support about a specific export. Use the game title and platform in the request. A support response is not a guarantee of recovery, but it can identify any newly introduced tool or account-specific issue.
- Keep local and cloud platform backups intact. Do not assume a console or PC backup contains the server-hosted Online Dynasty. Platform backups may preserve settings or local saves without containing EA’s online league data.
These steps preserve records for reference or for starting a new offline or online league in a supported title. They do not turn screenshots or notes into an importable Dynasty.
How much warning does EA give?
EA’s legal disclosures and online terms say EA may retire online features after at least 30 days’ notice posted on its service-updates page. The wording establishes a minimum notice policy for the retirement of online features; it does not promise a longer period, a specific number of reminders or a special grace period for each Dynasty.
A notice can identify the affected game, feature and date. Until a notice names the relevant College Football service, EA has not established a shutdown date for Online Dynasty. Check EA’s service-updates page and the game’s official announcements rather than relying on forum estimates or a date copied from another title.

Thirty days is a planning window, not a save-preservation guarantee. EA’s published policy does not say that commissioners can request an archive, that support will export a league on demand or that a league remains playable until a particular local time on the final day.
What commissioners should do after a notice appears
Confirm the scope
Read the notice to determine whether it covers Online Dynasty, all online services for the game or only a different feature. A shutdown of a separate service may not affect the league immediately, while a notice naming Dynasty or the game’s online services is directly relevant.
Set a final-season plan
Agree on a cutoff week, commissioner responsibilities and a method for recording results. Avoid scheduling a season that requires online synchronization after the announced retirement date. If the group wants a permanent record, capture the information while every member can still view the same league state.

Because College Football 26 supports cross-platform Dynasty play, confirm that every participant has the same understanding of the deadline and the recording plan. Cross-play will not provide a workaround after the EA service is retired; it depends on the same online capability.
Do not rely on an unannounced workaround
Private servers, modified clients and account transfers are not described in EA’s official Dynasty or shutdown documentation. They may violate platform or service terms and cannot be treated as a supported way to preserve the league.

The table’s “may remain playable” qualification matters. EA’s policy allows for offline play in some retired games, but it is not a blanket promise that every feature of every College Football release will remain available indefinitely.

What is known specifically about College Football 26?
EA’s College Football 26 FAQ describes a 32-person Online Dynasty and cross-platform Dynasty play. Those specifications explain the intended online experience while the service is supported; they do not create a guarantee of indefinite server operation or a preservation mechanism for league data.
No College Football-specific Online Dynasty shutdown date is established here. A future announcement could change the practical timeline, add a final update or provide instructions that are not in the currently published guidance. Until then, the safest assumption is that the league remains dependent on EA’s online services and has no documented export path.
Practical answers to the questions players ask most
Will my online Dynasty disappear if EA shuts down the servers?
You should expect the league to become inaccessible through the game when the service hosting its online data is retired. EA has not promised to preserve or convert that cloud league.
Can I keep playing it offline?
Offline Dynasty may remain playable where the game supports offline operation, but EA says offline mode cannot access online data. It should not be treated as the same league.
Can I download or transfer the save?
No export or migration procedure is documented in EA’s published Online Dynasty and shutdown guidance. Preserve screenshots and records if the league’s history matters, but do not assume they can be imported.
