Delisting a PS5 game usually means it is no longer available to buy through that Store listing; it does not, by itself, establish that people who already bought it lose access. Previously purchased games and add-ons have a download route in PlayStation’s Purchased library. Multiplayer, virtual currency and other online features are separate: their availability depends on the game’s services and its specific notices.
What delisting changes—and what it does not establish
A delisted game is no longer offered for new purchase through the affected listing. That is different from removing a purchase from an account, ending online services, or disabling a particular feature. PlayStation’s instructions direct users to download previously purchased games from Game Library > Purchased. This is a download process, not a universal promise that every delisted PS5 game will remain accessible indefinitely.

PlayStation’s statement that previously purchased content will remain downloadable “for the foreseeable future” appears in a notice about the planned PS3 and PS Vita Store closure. It is scoped to that notice and should not be treated as a general PS5 guarantee. See PlayStation’s important notices.
Can you still download DLC you already bought?
PlayStation’s download instructions also provide a route for previously purchased add-ons: open the game in the library and use its Add-Ons section to download an add-on from the library. Whether a specific item is listed for your account is something to check there; delisting alone does not answer every title-specific entitlement question.

- Open your Game Library and select Purchased.
- Select the game.
- Open Add-Ons and choose the add-on you want to download, if it is available there.

Will multiplayer keep working?
Not necessarily. A game can be removed from sale while its online services continue, or its services can be shut down separately. If the servers or online features are discontinued, owning or downloading the game does not ensure those features will still work. Check the notice for the exact title and region, including which modes are affected and when service changes take effect.

PlayStation maintains regional notices about games you can play online. For example, its notice for Destruction AllStars states that the game was removed from sale on May 26, 2026, while addressing service and online-feature availability separately. That example illustrates why sale status and server status should be checked independently; it does not establish the status of other games.

What happens to in-game purchases and virtual currency?
There is no single outcome for every delisted game. A game-specific notice may say that virtual currency is no longer sold, while separately explaining whether services or features remain available. The Destruction AllStars notice, for example, covers removal of its virtual currency from sale as well as service availability. Check the title’s notice and publisher information for whether purchases remain available, whether existing currency can still be spent, and whether any online-dependent items or features remain usable.

Does PlayStation Plus affect this?
PlayStation Plus is a separate condition from delisting and server availability. PlayStation’s March 2026 UK terms say that some games offer online multiplayer and that, unless a particular game states otherwise, an active PlayStation Plus subscription is needed to access it. A subscription does not keep a game’s servers online or restore a discontinued mode. How to check a specific delisted game
- Sale status: Look for the removal date and the relevant Store region.
- Your purchase: Check Game Library > Purchased to see whether the game appears on your account.
- DLC: Open the game’s Add-Ons section in the library and check for the add-on you bought.
- Online play: Find the title’s service notice and note the shutdown date and affected modes.
- Currency and items: Check whether currency is still sold, whether existing balances can be used, and whether the items require online services.
- Subscription: Confirm whether the game requires PlayStation Plus for the online mode you want to use.
