When Apple One expires, its included subscriptions end under their own terms. Apple Music catalog songs and playlists that rely on catalog music become unavailable, and Sync Library turns off. Your iCloud outcome depends on the storage plan that remains: if your data exceeds that capacity, iCloud syncing and backups stop until you free space or increase storage. Check the expiration date, remaining storage plan, and account settings before the change.
First, check when Apple One actually expires
Canceling and losing access are not necessarily the same moment. Check the expiration date shown in your subscription settings; Apple’s guidance describes Apple Music catalog access changing after the subscription expires, not simply when cancellation is submitted. - Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then select Apple One.
- Note the displayed expiration date and confirm which Apple Account is billed.
What happens to your Apple Music library
After the Apple Music subscription expires, songs from the Apple Music catalog can no longer be played. Playlists added from the catalog or made using catalog music become unavailable, and Sync Library turns off. Apple’s Apple Music cancellation guidance distinguishes that subscription-dependent content from music and playlists that were already on your device before subscribing; the latter remain available.
This is an access change, not a promise that every music file or playlist you own is erased. Apple does not promise that downloaded catalog tracks remain playable after expiration, so do not rely on an offline download to preserve subscription access.

What happens to iCloud storage
Apple One includes iCloud+ storage, but the amount depends on the plan and region. Your practical question is how your current iCloud use compares with the capacity that will remain after Apple One expires, including any separate iCloud+ plan.
Apple says that if storage use exceeds the capacity of the new plan, “iCloud won’t sync or update your information, and iCloud backups won’t be completed.” Syncing and backups can resume after you increase capacity or delete enough information to fit. The change to a downgraded iCloud+ plan takes effect after the current billing period ends. See Apple’s guidance on downgrading iCloud+.

That warning describes interrupted syncing and backups when you are over capacity; it does not establish that all iCloud data is immediately deleted. Check your account’s storage notices and make room or choose adequate capacity before the plan change.

- Open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud.
- Review the storage bar and the storage plan shown for the account.
- Check Subscriptions for a separate iCloud+ plan, and account for it when estimating capacity after Apple One ends.
If usage is higher than the expected capacity, download or remove content before the change, or arrange sufficient storage. Apple’s downgrade guidance specifically recommends getting usage below the new limit to avoid the syncing and backup interruption.

Check separate iCloud+ and Apple Accounts
A separate iCloud+ subscription can change the amount of storage available independently of Apple One. Apple says customers paying for both can cancel or downgrade the separate plan and use storage included with Apple One. When Apple One itself ends, verify which plan remains rather than assuming the separate subscription has ended or will provide a particular capacity.
Also verify which Apple Account receives the bundled storage if you use different accounts for media purchases and iCloud. Apple documents that storage may be applied to the account used for media and subscriptions by default, and provides a setting to choose another account. Follow Apple’s instructions for using Apple One with multiple Apple Accounts and confirm the selected account in your own settings.

What about Apple TV+, Arcade, News+, Fitness+, and other included services?
Apple One’s services vary by plan and region. Apple says that existing subscriptions to services included in Apple One, except iCloud+, are automatically canceled when a customer is billed for Apple One. That explains the transition into the bundle; it does not specify every service’s data-retention rules after Apple One expires. Check the terms and account notices for the particular service rather than assuming a universal deletion timeline.

Before Apple One ends: a short checklist
- Record the displayed expiration date and confirm the billed Apple Account.
- Compare iCloud storage use with the capacity expected to remain, including any separate iCloud+ subscription.
- If you use more than that capacity, remove or download content or arrange sufficient storage before the change.
- Identify which music depends on the Apple Music catalog and which music was already on your device before subscribing.
- If you use multiple Apple Accounts, confirm where Apple One storage is assigned.
- For services other than Music and iCloud, review the relevant service’s account terms; a single retention timeline is not established for every bundle service.
