Spoilers: A September 2026 walkthrough reports that Dylan eats the Cafe Mold in The Park, experiences a brief green vision, and survives to speak with Zoe afterward. The scene is followed by three more Mold-eating objectives. The exact dialogue and consequences are walkthrough-reported, not documented in an official scene transcript.
Where to find the Cafe Mold
In the reported The Park Resonant quest, Dylan is sent to search Park Valley for new Mold strains. The walkthrough places the Cafe Mold inside a Mold-covered cafe. Look for a glowing plate on an illuminated round table near the counter and a warning sign; the item is labeled “Piece of Delicious Mold.”

NerdsChalk’s September 25, 2026 walkthrough describes the location and interaction. Its scene-specific details have not been confirmed in official documentation.
What happens before Dylan eats it
Dylan discusses the sample’s smell with Zoe. The walkthrough reports descriptions such as fresh bread with butter and jam, gummy bears, popcorn, and honey; Zoe warns him not to eat it. A response wheel reportedly appears with these choices:

- Top: “For Dr. Darling”
- Right: “I could just smell it”
- Bottom: “Yeah, yeah, you’re right”
- Left: “It’s calling to me”
After a response, the objective reportedly changes to “Eat the Cafe Mold.” Dylan picks up and eats the sample. The guide does not establish whether choosing a particular response changes what happens later.
What the Mold vision and second choice wheel show
The walkthrough reports a short green, psychedelic vision after Dylan eats the sample. During it, another response wheel offers three options:
Rank #2
- Top: “Protect”
- Left: “Search”
- Right: “Grow”
The guide also reports the line “Spread swell.” It does not verify whether these choices affect later events.
Does Dylan survive eating the Cafe Mold?
According to the walkthrough, Dylan returns from the vision and can answer Zoe. He says he could not stop himself, that he is still himself, and that he can still hear the Mold’s call. Zoe is reportedly surprised he survived, tells him not to answer that call, and refuses to conduct further taste tests. This describes the immediate scene as reported by the guide; it is not an official confirmation of the scene’s full consequences.

What objectives appear afterward
The same walkthrough says that three additional objectives appear after the Cafe Mold interaction:
- Eat the Gym Mold
- Eat the Pizzeria Mold
- Eat the Minimart Mold
What official material confirms—and what it does not
Remedy Senior Communications Manager Miika Huttunen’s March 4, 2026 PlayStation Blog article describes Control Resonant’s “seamless dialogue system,” in which conversations can unfold during exploration. It also discusses Mold Turrets as summons that attack independently and apply harmful status effects, and notes that some Resonant encounters offer branching choices. That establishes Mold and player choice as parts of the game, but it does not document the Cafe Mold scene, its dialogue, or its outcome.
Rank #4
A Game Informer Gamescom preview from August 26, 2026 broadly corroborates that preview gameplay showed Dylan eating Mold and encountering dialogue choices. It does not identify this cafe’s exact options or what follows. The specific scene sequence and menu text therefore rest on the NerdsChalk walkthrough, not multiple independent accounts.

The game’s fictional Mold is part of a supernatural story. Nothing in these reports suggests that consuming real mold is safe.
