The National Security Agency (NSA) focuses on foreign signals intelligence and cybersecurity for U.S. national security systems. The CIA collects and analyzes foreign intelligence and may conduct covert action when directed by the president. The FBI combines federal law enforcement with domestic investigative and intelligence work. Their missions differ, but the agencies can cooperate and their work can overlap.
