San Francisco 49ers principal owner Jed York was suspended by the NFL for six regular-season games and fined $500,000 after an Ohio case tied to an online prostitution advertisement. The initial prostitution charge was amended: York pleaded no contest to misdemeanor disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools, not prostitution.
Why was Jed York arrested in Ohio?
York was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio, after responding to an undercover online prostitution advertisement, according to the Associated Press. He was initially charged with engaging in prostitution. That was an allegation at the time of arrest, not the charge to which he later pleaded.

What did Jed York plead to?
The original charge was amended. York pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors: disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools. The AP account linked the latter charge to his use of a phone to respond to the advertisement. A no-contest plea is distinct from admitting the initial prostitution allegation; the final charges were the two amended misdemeanors.
