Depending on that setup, you may be able to update selected account details or payment methods, review invoices, change an eligible subscription, or cancel it. A feature Stripe supports is not necessarily enabled for every customer.
What can I change in the Stripe customer portal?
The portal is a hosted billing self-service interface. Stripe provides the portal, while the business configures which self-service options customers can use. Its portal configuration API lists the controls that determine what appears.

Selected customer details
If customer updates are enabled, the business can permit changes to specific fields: billing address, email, name, phone number, shipping address, and tax ID. The portal does not necessarily let you edit all of these; availability depends on which fields the business allows.

Payment methods and invoices
Payment-method updates are a configurable feature. Invoice history can also be enabled or disabled, so customers should not assume the portal will show past invoices or let them replace a payment method.

Subscription changes
When subscription updates are enabled, the business can allow one or more of these actions: change the price, change the quantity, or enter a promotion code. It can also restrict changes to eligible products and prices. Stripe’s API allows a configuration to include up to 10 products for this subscription-update feature; that is a configuration limit, not a promise that a particular portal offers 10 products or that every price is eligible.
Cancellation
A business can enable or disable subscription cancellation and choose whether cancellation takes effect immediately or at the end of the current billing period. It can also enable collection of cancellation reasons. The options visible to you depend on that configuration.

Can I cancel a Stripe subscription through the portal?
You can cancel through the portal only if the business has enabled cancellation for your subscription. If the option is available, check the timing shown before confirming: a cancellation may take effect immediately or at period end.

Cancellation is not the same as erasing an outstanding balance. Stripe’s subscription cancellation documentation says immediate cancellation stops future subscription charges. By default, Stripe also stops automatic collection of finalized invoices after cancellation; this does not establish that amounts already owed disappear. Proration behavior can vary with the business’s settings.

Why can’t I change my plan or billing details?
A missing option may reflect the business’s configuration rather than a universal Stripe restriction. For example, the business may have disabled customer updates, allowed only some details to be edited, left subscription changes off, or limited plan changes to selected products and prices.
If you need an action that is not shown, contact the business that bills you. Stripe’s customer portal documentation describes the portal as a place for subscription management and payment-method updates; a business can share a portal link or send existing subscribers there from a pricing-table flow. The actual route and available controls depend on that business’s integration and configuration.
