AION2’s current English Operation Policy lists an Integrated Account Ban as the first sanction for using unauthorized programs. The policy’s test is about what a program, device, or equipment does—not simply whether it is sold as a “macro” device. NCSOFT has also identified automated gathering macros as an anti-bot enforcement target. The policy does not publish a safe list for particular keyboards, mice, remapping features, or software.
What the AION2 policy says about macros
The AION2 Operation Policy does not define every possible macro or name every peripheral. Instead, it prohibits unauthorized programs, devices, or equipment that meet a functional definition: they circumvent technical protection measures or interfere with normal operations, including programs that enable actions impossible for regular users. Read the AION2 Operation Policy for its wording and sanction table.

That means “macro” alone is not enough to determine how a particular setup will be treated. A feature that only changes which physical input sends a command is different in function from a script that repeats inputs or performs a sequence automatically, but NC has not expressly classified ordinary one-to-one remapping as safe. Nor does the policy say that every macro-capable mouse or keyboard is prohibited. The written standard concerns the setup’s effects, and the public guidance does not give configuration-by-configuration rulings.

Yes. The policy lists “Use of Unauthorized Programs” under “Integrated Account Ban” at the first-offense level. That is the listed sanction, not a guarantee that every case receives an identical outcome: the policy also says NC may consider circumstances and service impact, impose a lesser sanction, apply cumulative penalties for simultaneous violations, or increase penalties based on cumulative offenses or severity.

- Optional Software for Power Users - Everyday use needs zero software, but for advanced RGB effects and deeper macro profiles, companion software is available whenever you want to go further.
An Integrated Account Ban is defined as a permanent restriction on all games and related services provided by the company. It is broader than a Permanent Game Ban, which applies to AION2 and related services, and different from a Temporary Game Ban, which lasts for a specified period. The policy also lists gold farming or bot operations and creating or distributing unauthorized programs as Integrated Account Ban categories. It allows game-use data to be reset or access to content or connection environments to be restricted for benefits linked to violations involving unauthorized programs.
Why automation is a specific enforcement concern
NCSOFT’s announcements show that unauthorized automation is an active concern, not just a theoretical policy category. On January 28, 2026, the company described strengthened anti-bot measures and said it raised the minimum level for gathering participation to level 45 “to further limit the use of automated gathering macros.” That level threshold is a dated update detail, not confirmation of the game’s current gathering requirement. See NCSOFT’s January 28, 2026 anti-bot announcement.

In a December 12, 2025 Korean-language announcement, NCSOFT said it had filed a complaint with Gangnam Police Station against five users over illegal macro-program use. The company said it identified repeated use of unauthorized programs, as well as additional conduct involving account sales and game-currency distribution. Those are NCSOFT’s statements about its complaint, not an independently adjudicated finding. The same announcement reported that 72,621 accounts had been restricted across 23 enforcement rounds since AION2’s launch; this was a combined total for operation-policy violations, not a macro-only count, and it is not a current figure. See NCSOFT’s December 12, 2025 announcement.
How to assess a particular mouse, keyboard, or software setup
The published materials do not rank devices or approve specific configurations. These questions help explain the policy’s functional focus, but answering them does not certify a setup as compliant:

- YELLOW MECHANICAL LINEAR SWITCHES: With zero distance between actuation and reset points at 1.2mm and only 45g of force required — enjoy instant, rapid-fire inputs that are just as quiet thanks to built-in sound dampeners
- 6 DEDICATED MACRO KEYS: Expand the arsenal of commands with a set of easy-access macro keys that can be programmed to peferred playstyle
- MULTI-FUNCTION ROLLER and SECONDARY MEDIA KEYS: Pause, play, skip, and tweak everything from brightness to volume for ultimate convenience

- DOUBLESHOT ABS KEYCAPS: Using a doubleshot molding process to ensure the labeling never wears off while having extra-thick walls to withstand intense gaming
- Does it only remap an input, or automate actions? Repeating, sequencing, or triggering game inputs without each action being made by the player is closer to the automation NC has identified as a target. The policy does not expressly approve one-to-one remapping.
- Does it enable actions unavailable to regular users? That is an example named in the policy’s definition of unauthorized programs.
- Does it circumvent protection or interfere with normal operations? Those are also stated elements of the policy definition.
- Does it automate gathering or bot-like activity? NCSOFT specifically cited automated gathering macros in its anti-bot announcement.
- Is the behavior repeated, organized, or commercial? The policy separately addresses bot operations and other unfair commercial activity, including multiple-account commercial gaming.
What to do if you are unsure
- Do not use features that repeat or automate game inputs while the configuration is unclear. Avoid relying on anecdotes that a setup has gone unpunished; they do not establish that it is allowed.
- Ask AION2 support about the exact device and configuration. Describe whether the feature remaps one input, repeats it, or executes a sequence, and identify the relevant software or device setting.
- Do not treat a support inquiry as a guarantee against enforcement. The published policy and announcements do not promise that contacting support or changing a setting will prevent a sanction.
NC has not published a complete safe list for native game features, remapping, device-side macros, or third-party scripts in these sources. They also do not establish a macro-only ban total, a ban probability, or a detection probability, so none can be responsibly inferred.
