Its audited FY2026 results report a profit and an unmodified audit opinion, but neither removes those risks. Whether the shares are attractively valued is a separate question that requires a current share price and comparable valuation data.
What did SEBI find in the Suzlon case?
In an order dated May 29, 2026, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) set aside its June 27, 2025 adjudication outcome and held violations established against Suzlon and certain named individuals concerning historical financial statements and disclosures. SEBI imposed a ₹15.95 crore penalty on Suzlon. The order discusses historical matters including transactions involving the company and subsidiaries, impairment and investment accounting, and disclosure treatment of a standby letter of credit (SBLC) securing subsidiary borrowing. It covers reporting periods including FY2013–14 through FY2019–20.

These are regulatory findings about historical matters, not a finding that Suzlon’s FY2026 accounts were misstated. The distinction matters: the historical case is relevant to investors assessing disclosure controls and oversight, while the later audited results are a separate set of financial statements. SEBI also said the material on record may not quantify investor loss; that does not undo the violations it found.
What do the latest audited results say—and what do they not say?
Suzlon’s FY2026 consolidated filing with the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), for the year ended March 31, 2026, reports an unmodified audit opinion. The filing’s figures should be read together rather than treating net profit as a complete measure of financial strength.

Cash conversion and working capital
Operating cash flow is a different lens from net profit: it shows the cash generated by operations over the period, while receivables represent amounts not yet collected at the reporting date. A large receivables balance is a reason to examine collection patterns, not proof by itself that invoices are overdue or impaired. Investors can compare profit and operating cash flow across several reporting periods and review receivable ageing, customer concentration, advances, inventory movements, and contract liabilities in the full statements.

Liquidity and financing costs
Cash, current borrowings, and finance costs help frame liquidity and financing exposure, but a single year-end snapshot cannot establish how easily the business can fund its operating needs through the year. Assess those figures alongside cash-flow trends, payment obligations, and working-capital movements rather than treating any one balance as a verdict.
Will Suzlon’s order book turn into revenue, profit, and cash?
Suzlon’s FY2024–25 annual report stated that its order book stood at 5.6 GW as of May 31, 2025, manufacturing capability was 4.5 GW, and it had a net cash surplus of ₹1,943 crore as of March 31, 2025. These are company-reported figures tied to those dates, not current October 2026 balances. An order book indicates announced or contracted work; it is not the same as completed installations, recognized revenue, profitable execution, or collected cash.

Suzlon’s official news and announcements page lists further orders and project updates during 2026. Such announcements are evidence of commercial activity, but do not on their own verify completed installations, cash receipts, or margins.
What to monitor in conversion
- Whether deliveries and commissioned capacity keep pace with announced work.
- Whether orders are delayed, resized, cancelled, or affected by project approvals and land or grid readiness.
- Whether revenue from execution converts into sustainable operating margins and cash collections.
- Whether customer or supplier concentration, supplier capacity, and warranty or service obligations create pressure on delivery or profitability.
How can sector conditions affect the business?
Wind projects depend on customer economics and project timing, as well as grid and transmission readiness, permitting, tender design, and central and state policy. A delay in any of these can affect when a project proceeds and when equipment is delivered or paid for. The available company material does not quantify the present effect of these sector factors on Suzlon, so current policy or industry-growth claims should not be inferred from the company’s order announcements alone.
Rank #4
Can you tell whether Suzlon shares are cheap or expensive?
No. The company filings and announcements cited here do not establish a contemporaneous share price, market capitalization, valuation multiple, or peer comparison. A valuation conclusion needs a dated market quote and a clearly identified earnings period; peer multiples should use consistent dates, accounting periods, and business mixes. Without those inputs, the company-specific risks can be discussed, but whether the stock compensates investors for them cannot be determined.
How should an investor assess Suzlon’s risks?
Consider the evidence in combination: the historical SEBI findings when assessing governance and disclosure risk; audited results alongside cash flow and working-capital details when assessing financial quality; and actual delivery, margin, and collection performance when evaluating order conversion. The dated order-book and capacity figures provide context, not assurance of future performance. This framework describes risks to investigate and is not an individualized buy, hold, or sell recommendation.
