What is confirmed for League of Legends at the 2026 Asian Games?
The Olympic Council of Asia announced League of Legends as one of the esports titles in the 20th Asian Games programme on February 22, 2025. OCA’s announcement confirms its inclusion, while the Japan Esports Union (JeSU) lists the event details below.

The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) says the OCA appointed it technical delegate for esports. In its March 26, 2025 notice, AESF describes oversight of refereeing and collaboration with the organizing committee to ensure technical arrangements comply with the Games’ esports technical and competition regulations. That notice identifies a governing framework, but it does not reproduce the League of Legends rules.
Why Hangzhou 2022 does not answer the 2026 rules question
JeSU’s Hangzhou 2022 esports page also describes League of Legends as a PC team competition with five players per team. It records the esports programme as running September 24–October 2, 2023. The Japanese delegation listing showed six players and one coach, illustrating that the number listed for a team event need not equal the delegation’s full roster. JeSU reports that Japan finished the group stage with one win and one loss.
