AnTuTu is a composite performance benchmark, not a single speedometer. Its total combines CPU, GPU, memory (MEM) and user-experience (UX) testing. That makes the score useful for comparing phones tested with the same AnTuTu version and platform, but it cannot guarantee how every app, game or person will experience a device.
The most important rule is simple: never compare unlabeled scores. Record the AnTuTu version, operating-system platform, component breakdown, ranking date and geographic scope before drawing a conclusion.

What an AnTuTu score actually represents
AnTuTu adds results from four broad modules into one overall figure:

| Module | What it evaluates | What a relatively strong result suggests |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Processor-oriented calculations and related workloads | More capacity for computation-heavy tasks in the benchmark |
| GPU | Graphics-processing workloads | Greater benchmark graphics throughput |
| MEM | Memory performance, including the benchmark’s memory and storage-related operations | Stronger results in the tested data-movement and latency workloads |
| UX | User-experience scenarios such as application-layer and system-rendering behavior | Better results in the interactions and rendering scenarios AnTuTu includes |
The current Android download page, checked on October 13, 2026, lists AnTuTu Benchmark 12.0.2, updated October 10, 2026. It describes hundreds of tests distributed across those four modules. The total is therefore an aggregate of many subtests rather than a direct measurement of one task such as launching an app or maintaining a game’s frame rate.

CPU
The CPU portion is intended to represent processor work. A higher CPU subscore means the phone completed AnTuTu’s CPU scenarios more strongly under that version of the suite. It does not identify a universal amount of time saved in every application, because applications use processors in different ways.
GPU
GPU testing covers graphics workloads. It can help distinguish phones whose graphics hardware is comparatively strong within the same test generation. It is not a promise that every game will run at a particular frame rate, resolution or quality setting.
MEM
MEM is AnTuTu’s memory category. In version 12, AnTuTu says this area gained a dynamic memory-latency stress test. That addition means the MEM result reflects the current suite’s particular latency and data-handling scenarios, not a timeless rating of every memory configuration.

UX aggregates user-interface and system-behavior scenarios selected by AnTuTu. Version 12 includes an upgraded UX test suite and changes to application-layer I/O and system-rendering behavior. Treat the UX number as performance in those defined scenarios, not as a universal measure of smoothness for every person.
Why the AnTuTu version matters more than the headline number
AnTuTu changed the test suite for V12. In its September 22, 2026 public-beta announcement, the company said CPU testing was revised to better reflect real-world user behavior, the GPU pipeline was optimized, MEM gained the dynamic latency stress test, and UX testing was upgraded. Those are changes to both workloads and algorithms.

AnTuTu’s own warning is explicit: “Therefore, scores from different AnTuTu versions are not directly comparable.” A V12 total should not be placed on the same leaderboard as a V11 total as though the numbers were produced by an unchanged instrument. A newer or larger number may reflect the revised suite rather than a proportional hardware improvement.
When you quote or chart a result, put the version beside it—for example, “AnTuTu V12, Android” or “AnTuTu V11, iOS.” If a listing omits the version, the number is incomplete evidence and should not be used for a precise comparison.

How to read the total and its component scores
The total is convenient for sorting, but it can conceal the reason two phones land near each other. One may lead in CPU while another leads in GPU, MEM or UX. AnTuTu’s ranking display places the component columns beside the total for this reason.
| Question to ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Which module supplies most of the advantage? | It shows whether the gap is concentrated in processor, graphics, memory or UX workloads. |
| Are the component scores from the same run and version? | Mixing versions can make both the total and the breakdown misleading. |
| Is the displayed result an average or a peak? | An average is a more representative ranking figure than a best-ever run. |
| Does the module resemble your workload? | A graphics-heavy user should study GPU results; a general multitasker may care about the complete profile. |
A balanced profile can be more useful than a slightly higher total produced by one unusually strong category. Conversely, a phone with a modest total but a strong GPU may be the more relevant choice for a graphics-focused workload. The benchmark gives you evidence for that distinction; it does not make the decision for you.
What AnTuTu rankings do—and do not—show
AnTuTu says its displayed ranking score is the average of all valid results for a device, not the highest score anyone achieved. That distinction matters when a screenshot advertises an unusually large number. A peak run can be an outlier, while the ranking figure is intended to summarize valid submissions.

The popular-model list is updated monthly. The cited global ranking page is labeled V11, was updated in August 2026, and excludes the mainland China market. A ranking position is therefore a snapshot with three necessary labels: benchmark version, update date and geographic scope. A phone’s position in that list should not be presented as a timeless worldwide standing.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchAnTuTu also cautions that scores across platforms may not be directly comparable. Android and iOS use platform-specific implementations: Vulkan for Android and Metal for iOS. Those technologies, together with platform-specific test code, mean an Android total and an iPhone total should not automatically share one scale.
A reliable method for comparing two phones
- Identify the exact benchmark generation. Confirm whether each result is V11 or V12. Reject a direct numerical comparison when the versions differ unless you clearly explain that the suites changed.
- Keep the platform consistent. Compare Android with Android or iOS with iOS when possible. If you must discuss both, label the platform and explain AnTuTu’s Vulkan-versus-Metal implementation difference.
- Capture the four subscores. Record CPU, GPU, MEM and UX alongside the total. This reveals whether one device’s lead comes from the category relevant to your use.
- Determine whether the number is an average or a single run. An official ranking average is not equivalent to a highest-result screenshot.
- Record date and market scope for rankings. Note the month of the list and whether it covers the global market, mainland China or another defined region.
- Match the evidence to your workload. Use GPU information for graphics-heavy tasks, CPU information for processor-heavy tasks and the complete profile for general comparisons. Do not convert the total into a guaranteed app or game experience.
This process prevents the most common error: treating a clean-looking leaderboard as if it were a laboratory scale that never changes.
What the current Android V12 release tells you
The Android download page lists version 12.0.2, updated October 10, 2026. Its four-module structure and hundreds of tests make the result broader than a single synthetic operation. The V12 announcement also says the CPU scenarios were adjusted toward real-world user behavior, GPU processing was optimized, memory testing now includes dynamic latency stress, and UX received a revised suite.
Those statements describe AnTuTu’s design choices. They explain what the software attempts to test, but they are not an independent validation that a particular total predicts every user’s experience. Use the release information to keep comparisons internally consistent, not to claim that V12 has a universal score-to-speed conversion.

How the iOS implementation differs
The current download page lists iOS/iPadOS AnTuTu 11.0.2, updated May 26, 2026, and says that implementation uses Metal. That is a different platform implementation from Android’s Vulkan-based tests, so an iOS score should be interpreted within its own platform and version context.
AnTuTu’s February 4, 2026 explanation of its iOS V11 test provides a concrete example of workload order: GPU scenarios moved to Unreal Engine 5, with a high-intensity GPU test first, followed by CPU, memory and other items. The example concerns iOS Pro models and a specific V11 workload. It should not be treated as the general Android V12 sequence or as a universal description of every AnTuTu run.
What a high score can reasonably tell you
- Within one version and platform, it can indicate that the phone performed better across AnTuTu’s combined scenarios.
- The component profile can reveal whether the advantage is primarily CPU, GPU, MEM or UX.
- An official ranking average can show how a device compares with other valid results in that ranking’s stated month and market.
- A repeated, consistently labeled result can provide a useful reference when evaluating phones that use the same suite.
These are comparative statements. They do not say that a phone with a particular total will feel equally fast in every app, game or workflow.

It cannot provide a universal “fast enough” threshold
The cited AnTuTu materials do not establish a score at which every phone becomes fast enough for every user. Requirements differ by application, game, display settings and personal expectations. A single cutoff would imply a precision the benchmark documentation does not provide.

It cannot erase platform differences
Android and iOS results come from different implementations and should not be treated as one directly comparable ladder. Even when two totals look similar, the underlying test technology and operating-system environment differ.
It cannot turn a ranking snapshot into a permanent verdict
Scores, software versions, eligible results and ranking dates change. A monthly V11 global list excluding mainland China answers a narrower question than “which phone is fastest everywhere today?”
A practical record sheet for any AnTuTu result
Before relying on a score, write down:
- Phone model and operating-system platform
- AnTuTu version, including the major generation
- Total score plus CPU, GPU, MEM and UX subscores
- Whether the figure is a single run or an official average
- Test or ranking date
- Market scope, especially for a published ranking
- The workload you are trying to judge
Keeping those fields together makes an old screenshot much less likely to be mistaken for a current, directly comparable result.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesBottom line: use AnTuTu as a labeled comparison tool
AnTuTu measures a broad synthetic profile through CPU, GPU, MEM and UX modules. Its current Android V12 suite changed enough that V11 and V12 scores are not directly comparable. The safest interpretation is a same-version, same-platform comparison that includes component scores and distinguishes ranking averages from peak runs. AnTuTu can help explain relative benchmark performance; it cannot guarantee how a particular phone will feel in every app, game or person’s hands.
