The Westinghouse WSF6606XA is a discontinued, freestanding 15-place dishwasher with six wash programs. Westinghouse publishes useful capacity, consumption and noise figures, but the public CHOICE listing does not reveal its independent performance scores. If you are considering remaining stock or a used unit, treat the specifications as claims—not proof of cleaning or drying quality—and check condition, fit and local repair support before paying.
What the WSF6606XA offers
Westinghouse describes the WSF6606XA as a stainless-steel, family-size freestanding dishwasher. Its fact sheet lists 15 place settings, six wash programs, an active-dry system, two spray arms, a top shower, a three-stage filter, load sensing, child lock and water-safety/anti-flood protection. The retailer listing names the six programs as Fast 30 min, Heavy, Time Save 50 minutes, Eco 50°C, Pre-wash and Delicate. It also lists a half-load option and a 1–24 hour delay start. Because control details can vary across similar model suffixes, check the manual and controls on the exact XA unit rather than assuming every retailer-listed option applies to the appliance in front of you. These are Westinghouse’s published figures, also reflected in CHOICE’s listing as claimed resource use. CHOICE identifies Eco 50°C as the program used for its listed program specification. What public independent evidence can—and cannot—tell you
CHOICE marks the model discontinued. Its public listing includes specifications, but its expert rating and wash, dry, energy, water, noise, program-time, reliability and satisfaction results are member-only. The publicly accessible page therefore cannot support a claim that the WSF6606XA cleans or dries well, or that it is reliable. CHOICE also displayed a historical AUD $1,099 price; that is not a current quote, and the listing does not establish whether any retailer still has stock.
Owner feedback is mixed and anecdotal. At the time observed, ProductReview showed 2.4 from 17 reviews for the exact WSF6606XA page. Visible comments included praise for capacity and loading space as well as reports of condensation or drying concerns, awkward upper-rack placement or plate fit, faults or leaks, and difficulty obtaining repairs or parts. Check these points before buying used or remaining stock
Confirm the complete model suffix
Read the rating plate and verify that it says WSF6606XA. Similar-looking suffixes, including WSF6606X, WSF6606XB and WSF6606KXA, should not be treated as interchangeable specification references.

The nominal overall dimensions are 850 mm high, 598 mm wide and 598 mm deep. A retailer lists 820 mm minimum height with the removable worktop removed. Confirm the installation manual, actual clearance and whether removal is appropriate for your cabinetry. Also check hose routing, electrical access, door swing and the route into the kitchen before purchase. - Before purchasing, please confirm: Many replacement parts appear identical but may not fit your model. Use Ctrl+F to search for your model number in the product description before buying
Inspect fit and condition, not just the stated capacity
- Bring or measure your largest plates, pans and glasses against the rack layout; 15 place settings is a capacity rating, not a guarantee that your cookware fits comfortably.
- Check that racks slide and stay level, spray arms turn freely, filters are present, and the door closes and seals properly.
- For a used appliance, ask to see a complete cycle or evidence it has recently run without leaks, faults or persistent water remaining where it should drain.
- For remaining stock, clarify the return policy, warranty start date and who handles service if a fault appears.
Establish parts and repair support first
Because CHOICE lists the model as discontinued, ask a local service provider or the seller whether support and compatible parts are available for the exact suffix. Live parts stock and repair prices are not established by the public listings, so get confirmation before committing rather than assuming a replacement component will be easy to source.
Warranty and regional qualifications
Westinghouse’s fact sheet states a two-year domestic warranty. Manufacturer warranty material says coverage applies to appliances purchased and used in Australia or New Zealand in normal domestic applications and is subject to the accompanying warranty-card conditions. Confirm the terms for the specific purchase, purchase date and country; a used appliance or old remaining stock may not have the coverage you expect. How to decide whether it suits you
The WSF6606XA may be worth considering when its exact rack layout fits your dishes, the installation dimensions work, and the seller can demonstrate condition and credible support. The published figures make it possible to compare claimed capacity, resource use and noise with another dishwasher, but they cannot substitute for public independent wash-and-dry results. Compare alternatives on matching test bases where available, as well as current price, warranty, parts access and the condition of the unit you can actually buy.
