How the zones and power are arranged
The manufacturer lists four different zone sizes and power ratings. The left-front zone is the only one with a stated boost rating.
#1 Best Overall
- PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage
- Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves
- DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
- Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning
| Position | Diameter | Listed power |
|---|---|---|
| Left front | 210 mm | 2300 W; 3600 W with boost |
| Right front | 140 mm | 1400 W |
| Left rear | 140 mm | 1800 W |
| Right rear | 180 mm | 1800 W |
Use the zone diameters to compare the layout with the bases of the pans you use most. The listed wattages describe the manufacturer’s specifications; they do not establish comparative cooking speed or performance.
What the features do—and their limits
BoilProtect
Westinghouse says, “BoilProtect detects rising bubbles and automatically reduces to a low simmer.” The feature is listed for two zones and is limited to stainless-steel and enamelled pots filled with water only. It should not be treated as a general-purpose temperature sensor for every pan or cooking task.

Designed for large-volume usage, it is ideal for commercial and professional settings such as restaurants, industrial kitchens, and other catering services.
- EASY TO CONTROL & CLEAN - The control buttons with solid tactile response make operation intuitive and precise. With simple and clear display, the Key-Press-Control Panel provides clear visibility and easy control, even with gloves or wet hands. With no open flame or heating element, food does not burn onto the glass cooktop, making it easy to clean greasy dirt.
PowerBoost, Pause and timer
Westinghouse lists PowerBoost, a Pause function and a QuickCook timer. The product information establishes that these controls are included, but does not provide independent test results for how quickly the cooktop heats or how precisely it simmers.

The specified opening is 880 × 490 mm, not simply any cut-out intended for a 90 cm cooktop. Westinghouse’s dimension sheet depicts an 880 +1 mm by 490 +1 mm opening and a minimum 20 mm underside clearance. The manufacturer describes its dimensions as a guide and directs installers to the supplied manual for complete instructions.
Rank #4
- 【CHECK YOUR PAN FIRST — MAGNET TEST + FLAT BASE 4 –10 IN】Works only with magnetic, flat-bottom cookware: cast iron, magnetic 430 stainless steel, or enameled iron. Fridge-magnet test on the flat bottom: clings = works; slides = no heat. Not for aluminum, copper, glass, ceramic, or non-magnetic 304 stainless steel. Measure the flat magnetic base, not the rim: 4 –10 in (10–26 cm). Round-bottom/warped pans or small magnetic dots won’t work. “E0” = pan mismatch, not a defect.
- 【Portable & Versatile Induction Cooktop】 This lightweight induction burner is designed for effortless portability and compact storage, easily fitting into small kitchens, dorms, RVs, apartments, offices, patios, or camping trips. Simply plug it into any standard 110V/120V outlet and enjoy 1800W of powerful, efficient cooking wherever you go. This safe, flameless induction burner delivers professional results without compromising on space—ideal for anyone seeking a versatile, space-saving solution.
- 【Precise Power & Temperature Control】 This portable induction cooktop features 10 power levels (180W to 1800W) and 10 temperature settings (120°F to 460°F), giving you complete control for any cooking style. Whether you need a gentle simmer for sauces, a steady boil for pasta, or high heat for searing steaks and stir-fry, simply adjust the settings to match your recipe. Including Rapid Boil and Keep Warm modes. A 3-hour timer adds flexibility for effortless meal preparation.
- 【ETL Certified & Energy Efficient】 This induction hot plate is ETL certified to meet North American electrical standards, ensuring safe and reliable operation with any standard 110V/120V outlet. With 83% energy efficiency, it outperforms traditional gas and electric cooktops by transferring heat directly to your cookware—minimizing energy loss, reducing cooking time, and saving on electricity costs.
- 【Intuitive LCD Display & Smart Touch Controls】 This induction stove features an easy-to-read LCD display and responsive touch panel for effortless control. Auto pan detection automatically powers off when no cookware is detected, while the child safety lock and overheat protection ensure worry-free cooking. The sleek ceramic glass surface is also easy to clean—just wipe with a damp cloth.
- Measure the existing cut-out. Compare it with the manufacturer’s dimensions and the manual; do not assume that an existing 90 cm cooktop opening will match.
- Check the space below the benchtop. Account for the stated minimum 20 mm underside clearance and any other requirements in the installation manual.
- Ask a qualified electrician to assess the circuit. The cooktop is hardwired and lists a 6.5 kW connected load and 32 A maximum current. Those ratings do not establish the capacity or suitability of a home circuit, and the available product information does not determine whether a particular property’s supply or wiring is appropriate.
- Confirm local requirements and availability. The cited manufacturer and retailer information is Australian; Westinghouse also presents the product in New Zealand. Check electrical requirements, warranty terms and stock in your location before committing.
Cookware compatibility
Induction needs cookware made from magnetic material. Do not assume that every stainless-steel pan is suitable: check the cookware maker’s induction-compatibility guidance or test the pan as its manufacturer recommends. Matching pan bases to the WHI943BD’s listed zone diameters can also help you judge whether your existing cookware suits the layout.

Independent testing and availability
CHOICE lists the WHI943BD as discontinued and gives four zones, 90 cm width, 6.5 kW maximum capacity, 90 × 52 cm dimensions, 88 × 49 cm installation dimensions and a two-year warranty. Its listing shows testing “2024 onwards,” but several performance scores are available only to members. The public information does not establish boil times, simmering performance, noise, efficiency, reliability, satisfaction or an overall CHOICE verdict. Treat current availability as something to verify with local retailers rather than assuming the model is unavailable everywhere.
Quick Recap
Who should consider the WHI943BD?
- It may suit you if you need a 90 cm induction surface, the four-zone arrangement works with your pans, your opening matches the installation requirements, and an electrician confirms the connection is suitable.
- Look elsewhere or pause the purchase if you need independent comparative performance scores, cannot confirm the cut-out or electrical suitability, rely on a rangehood whose Hob2Hood compatibility is unknown, or cannot verify stock and warranty coverage in your region.
