Westinghouse WHI633BC Review (2026): Specs, Fit, Ratings and Buying Checks

The Westinghouse WHI633BC is a 60 cm, three-zone built-in induction cooktop. Its headline feature on paper is a 280 mm, 3600 W right-front MaxiZone. It is hardwired, so it is only a practical choice for a kitchen that already has a matching 560 x 490 mm cutout and a circuit a qualified electrician has confirmed can supply it. Public evidence does not settle how well it performs: no independent lab results are openly available, CHOICE lists the model as discontinued, and owner reviews are few and mixed. Confirm stock, price, fit, electrical capacity and pan compatibility before you buy.

What the WHI633BC is

Westinghouse Australia describes the WHI633BC as a “60cm 3 zone induction cooktop” in its product page. The listed overall dimensions are 590 mm wide, 520 mm deep and 46 mm high, with a 560 x 490 mm cutout. The top is black ceramic glass with touch controls.

The listed features include pot sensing, a programmable 99-minute timer, child lock, a safety cut-off, and residual and hot-surface indicators. The manufacturer also lists MaxiZone, PowerBoost, pause, keep-warm and Hob2Hood functions. The product page gives a two-year warranty. The Westinghouse fact sheet for the WHI633BC is the companion document for the same model.

Zone layout and what the published numbers mean

The cooktop has three cooking zones. The published figures for each are below.

ChangBERT Induction Cooktop, Commercial Grade Portable Cooker, Large 8” Heating Coil, Premium Stainless Steel Countertop Burner with NSF Certified, 10 Hours Timer Powerful 1800W Professional Hot Plate
  • HIGH EFFICIENCY - ChangBERT Induction cooktop offers 9 preset power levels (200-1800W) and 18 preset temperature settings (120-460℉, 20F per level). With an 83% energy efficiency rating, the induction cooker is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves, providing quick heat-up and faster cooking times.
  • CONSISTENTLY STABLE HIGH-POWER OUTPUT - Built for constant use, it features continuous-duty circuitry for non-stop cooking. The unique power control technology ensures stable high-power output, reduces the temperature of internal electronics, and facilitates low-noise heat dissipation, providing reliable cooking performance. This dependable performance sets it apart from others.
  • LARGE COOKING AREA - Features an expanded magnetic coil design that optimizes the winding structure to enhance the transfer of electromagnetic energy directly to the cookware, significantly improving heating efficiency and ensuring more even heat distribution across the bottom of the cookware.
  • NSF CERTIFIED & COMMERCIAL GRADE - UL commercial standard 197, completely ETL & NSF approved. It meets industry durability standards, passing a drop test with an impact of 1.5 ft lbs. Designed for large-volume usage, it is ideal for commercial and professional settings such as restaurants, industrial kitchens, and other catering services.
  • EASY TO CONTROL & CLEAN - The control buttons with solid tactile response make operation intuitive and precise. With simple and clear display, the Key-Press-Control Panel provides clear visibility and easy control, even with gloves or wet hands. With no open flame or heating element, food does not burn onto the glass cooktop, making it easy to clean greasy dirt.
Zone Position Listed power Listed boost Listed diameter
Left front Front left 1400 W 2500 W 140 mm
Left rear Rear left 1800 W Not stated in the listing 180 mm
Right front (MaxiZone) Front right 3600 W Not stated in the listing 280 mm

These are manufacturer specifications, not measured output. The 280 mm MaxiZone is the feature that matters most for large pans, and the 3600 W figure is the rating Westinghouse publishes for it. The listing gives a boost figure only for the left-front zone, so do not assume the other two zones have the same boost behaviour. The product page also lists a 6.5 kW connected load for the whole unit.

Installation and electrical requirements

The WHI633BC is hardwired. The product page lists a hardwired connection, and the user manual reproduced on ManualsLib states that electrical connections must be made by a qualified electrician. Treat that as a hard requirement, not a formality. Work through these steps before ordering:

  1. Measure the bench opening against the 560 x 490 mm cutout, then compare it with the dimension drawing in the full model manual. A nominal cutout match does not guarantee a fit, so also check clearances, cabinetry and ventilation.
  2. Ask a qualified local electrician to confirm that the circuit can supply the 6.5 kW connected load and meets your local wiring requirements. Do not assume an existing outlet or connection is suitable.
  3. Check that the pans you already own will work with the zones (see the cookware section below) before you commit to the purchase.

Safety notes from the manual

The manual includes a specific instruction for people with implanted cardiac devices: “Users with a pacemaker must keep a distance of minimum 30 cm from the induction cooking zones when the appliance is in operation.” Anyone in that position should follow this instruction and check with their own medical provider about their circumstances. The same manual advises using suitable induction cookware.

Duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop, Countertop Burner 1800W Silver 9600LS
  • PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage
  • Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves
  • DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
  • Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
  • Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning

Cookware and zone fit

Induction cooking needs magnetic cookware. A simple check is whether a fridge magnet sticks firmly to the base of the pan. Beyond that, compare the flat base diameter of each pan with the zone it will sit on: 140 mm for the left front, 180 mm for the left rear and 280 mm for the MaxiZone. The published zone diameters describe the zones, not a guarantee that every pan of the same nominal size will heat evenly. A pan with a warped or narrow base may underperform on a large zone even if its label says the size is right.

What independent performance evidence exists

CHOICE has a model-specific review listing. The public page states “Year tested 2023 or earlier” and labels the model “Discontinued model.” The expert rating, pros and cons, and detailed test scores are available only to CHOICE members, so they are not reported here.

The open evidence therefore does not establish boiling speed, low-heat control, energy efficiency or large-pan heating for this model. Any claim about those would be unsupported by public sources. If you can access the CHOICE scores through membership, check the test year before relying on them, since the listing dates the testing to 2023 or earlier.

Source Rating shown Count Nature of the figure When captured
Westinghouse Australia product page 4.8 129 reviews Vendor-hosted snapshot; can change 2026
ProductReview.com.au 2.2 3 reviews Individual owner accounts; very small sample 2026

The three ProductReview.com.au accounts conflict with each other. One owner praised the speed and appearance but described a dispute over installation and the cutout, along with frustration with customer service. A second said the large zone did not meet their expectations. A third reported that the other two zones worked well while criticising the large zone. Owner phrasing that appears in these reviews includes “does this hot plate not get hot enough?” and “large induction section has never delivered the quoted output.” These are individual experiences, not verified diagnoses, and three reviews cannot be generalised to all units.

The 4.8 score from 129 reviews is also not an independent verdict, because it comes from the seller’s own site and may change over time. Read the two numbers together and weight the written reports over the averages.

Availability and price

Price data for this model is dated or platform-specific. The CHOICE page shows $1,399, and ProductReview.com.au displays a recommended retail price of $1,299. Owners have reported buying at other prices over time. None of these is a reliable current quote. The search did not establish current local stock. CHOICE calls the model discontinued, so check whether a successor model has replaced it. Ask local retailers to confirm the following for the exact model:

  • Stock on hand and expected delivery date
  • Whether installation is included or quoted separately
  • Warranty terms and who services the unit
  • Whether the WHI633BC has been superseded by another model

How to compare it with another 60 cm induction cooktop

Compare candidates in this order, so that the decisive constraints are checked first:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Cutout size, hardwired or plug-in requirement, and electrical capacity for your site.
  2. Base fit of your own pans on each zone, including the large zone’s diameter.
  3. Independently measured low-heat and high-heat performance, where a publicly accessible source exists.
  4. Control layout and the pause and boost functions you will actually use.
  5. Warranty length and local service arrangements.
  6. Live availability and installed price from a named retailer, dated on the day you check.

On paper, the WHI633BC’s strengths are its 280 mm, 3600 W right-front zone and its three-zone layout. Whether those strengths hold up in daily use is something the public evidence cannot answer, so treat the unit as a candidate to verify rather than a recommendation.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
