The proposed mix includes playable PC, console and mobile games; exhibitors featuring gaming PCs, monitors and peripherals; goods and themed displays; creator encounters; stage and community activities; and business networking with international connections. These are broad plans, not a finalized program.

Who is organizing the Japan edition?
The WePlay Expo JAPAN Executive Committee is formed by Iid Inc. and Sanei Inc. CiGA (China indie Game Alliance) is identified as licensor and producer. How does the Japan event relate to WePlay Expo in China?
WePlay Expo began in China in 2017, according to the organizer’s announcement. Iid’s 2026 release reports that the 2025 event brought together about 500 game titles from 13 countries and regions; that figure describes titles and representation, not visitor attendance. The release also says the 2026 edition is planned to move to Shanghai’s National Exhibition and Convention Center—it presents this as a plan, not a completed move. Iid Inc.’s announcement

The organizer’s stated aim is for WePlay Expo JAPAN to be a place to discover and play new games and connect people and culture through games. That is an event goal, not a guarantee of particular exhibitors or programming.
