These figures are from MySmartPrice’s India category listing. The lists help identify candidates; neither establishes the official water-resistance rating of each India variant.

What “waterproof” means on these listings
“Waterproof” is the category wording used by phone-comparison pages. It does not, by itself, prove that a listed phone has a particular IP rating or that it can safely withstand water exposure. Water resistance is conditional: the rating, test conditions and manufacturer guidance for the exact model matter.

Samsung India’s guidance for applicable Galaxy devices describes IPX7 as 30 minutes at a depth of 1 metre and IPX8 as 30 minutes at 1.5 metres. Samsung cautions that resistance is not guaranteed beyond the reference depth, after more than 30 minutes, or under high water pressure. Do not interpret a rating’s test depth and duration as permission to swim with a phone or expose it to seawater, hot water, high-pressure jets or repeated water contact. The conditions listed for a test are not a general-use guarantee.

How to verify a phone before buying
- Match the exact model and variant. Confirm the India model name and RAM/storage configuration on the product listing; do not assume a rating applies across every version with a similar name.
- Find the manufacturer’s rating. Check the official product specifications or support information for that precise model. The comparison lists above do not provide authoritative model-by-model rating evidence.
- Read the warranty terms. Check the manufacturer’s India warranty and liquid-damage terms for the specific phone. A water-resistance rating is not the same as a guarantee that water damage will be covered.
- Recheck price and seller. Listings can change by store and location. Confirm the live price, seller, bill and warranty for the configuration you intend to buy.

- Display: Compare screen size and display features against how you use the phone.
- Battery and charging: Consider capacity and charging support alongside your daily routine.
- Camera and software support: Review the specifications and support information for the exact model rather than inferring them from its category listing.
For a purchase specifically motivated by water resistance, establish the official rating and warranty terms first; a low listed price cannot substitute for either.
