Start with official broadcaster streams and TV Pública’s official YouTube channel. If a stream is unavailable abroad, a VPN may help—but it is not a guarantee: Gizmodo’s September 23, 2026 test found different results by VPN, channel, and app. For paid live TV or football, Flow and LPF PLAY are separate options with different coverage and access conditions.
Start with official viewing options
TV Pública
TV Pública’s official website and YouTube channel are the first places to check. Proton VPN’s viewing guide says the channel is free to watch in Argentina and provides browser, mobile, and television-device instructions. That VPN access advice comes from a VPN provider, not an independent test. See Proton VPN’s TV Pública guide.

Telefe, El Trece, and América TV
Check each broadcaster’s official stream first. Gizmodo reported that access and schedules differed by location in its test, so an online stream may be blocked abroad or show an international schedule. Gizmodo’s test article links to the broadcaster pages it checked.
Flow for paid live television
Personal describes Flow Full as a paid service with more than 150 live channels and other entertainment. Its 2026 football page names TyC Sports and Telefe as carriers of specific Argentina national-team coverage. The cited pages do not establish whether a new subscriber abroad can sign up or use Flow. Personal’s Flow information and its 2026 football page describe the service and coverage.

LPF PLAY for specified football competitions
LPF PLAY is a separate AFA platform for Primera Nacional and Primera B matches, not a substitute for general-interest Argentine television. AFA says it can be accessed worldwide and on different device types. Its announcement describes a staged change from free access to registration and then a paid subscription for live matches; it does not establish the current price or the exact date of that later stage. Read AFA’s LPF PLAY announcement.
What the 2026 VPN test found
Gizmodo published its comparison on September 23, 2026. It tested on a Windows 11 PC in Europe, with a 190.36 Mbps unprotected baseline; the article says download speed was measured against a Buenos Aires speed-test target. The access results and speeds below are Gizmodo’s reported findings from that setup, not independently reproduced results or a promise of present-day access.

| VPN | Channels accessible in Gizmodo’s test | Reported Buenos Aires download | Reported caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| NordVPN | Telefe, El Trece, Cine.ar Play, and Netflix Argentina | 158.04 Mbps | América TV was blocked; the tested endpoint returned “Method Not Allowed.” Gizmodo reported 9 Buenos Aires servers. |
| Proton VPN | Telefe, El Trece, América TV, Cine.ar Play, and Netflix Argentina | 66.62 Mbps | Gizmodo reported 84 Buenos Aires servers. |
| ExpressVPN | Telefe, El Trece, América TV, Cine.ar Play, and Netflix Argentina in a browser extension | 116.21 Mbps | Netflix Argentina was blocked in the desktop app. Gizmodo reported one Argentina location and no city choice. |
These figures are specific to Gizmodo’s test date, location, device, and server endpoints. Streaming services can block VPN endpoints, and server counts, locations, app behavior, and access may change. Treat speed as a result from that test setup, not a general performance rating.
Choose based on the channel and device you need
There is no supported blanket claim that one of these VPNs “unblocks Argentine TV.” Use the test only as a dated comparison, and check the exact channel and playback route you plan to use.

Watch on a television you already own
You may not need to buy hardware. Proton VPN’s TV Pública guide includes Fire TV instructions for reaching YouTube, while AFA says LPF PLAY supports a smart-TV app or Apple TV/Chromecast. If the relevant app is unavailable on your television, AFA identifies an external device or a notebook connected by HDMI as alternatives. A Fire TV Stick is optional, and a device alone does not guarantee that a broadcaster will allow access. AFA’s device guidance.
