No verified evidence establishes that a Prime Day identity-protection offer was half price. Amazon announced Prime Day 2026 for June 23–26, dates that have passed. A TechRadar report described an introductory LifeLock Total price, but its figures do not amount to 50% off and do not confirm that LifeLock was the service behind the deal in the original headline.
What was the Prime Day identity-protection deal?
The provider and offer behind the headline remain unidentified in the available evidence. Amazon’s Prime Day announcement set the event for June 23–26, 2026, and described deals as limited-time and exclusive to Prime members. It did not identify an identity-protection promotion.

A June 23, 2026, TechRadar report listed LifeLock Total at $29.17 per month for the first year, compared with $34.99 per month. That is about 17% below the cited comparison price, not half off. The report is a secondary account; it does not verify a current offer or establish that LifeLock was the service named in the headline.

What should you verify before signing up?
For any identity-protection subscription advertised at a discount, check the provider’s own offer and checkout page. A low introductory rate can differ materially from the amount charged after the promotion.

- Provider and plan: Confirm the exact service and tier; do not assume an offer for one plan applies to another.
- Price and duration: Compare the checkout total with the stated reference price, and verify how long the introductory price lasts.
- Renewal price: Check the recurring charge after the introductory period and whether renewal is automatic.
- Coverage: Review which information is monitored, what alerts are included, and what identity-restoration assistance the plan provides.
- Terms: Read cancellation and refund conditions, eligibility requirements, and the promotion’s expiration date.
These are checks for evaluating a subscription offer, not confirmed terms of the unverified Prime Day promotion.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does an identity-protection subscription prevent identity theft?
The reported LifeLock Total feature descriptions concern monitoring and restoration, but they do not establish the current plan’s full terms or show that a subscription prevents identity theft. Monitoring can alert a subscriber to certain activity; readers should assess the stated coverage and recovery support rather than treating a discount as evidence of effectiveness.
The FTC separately reported an August 2026 settlement resolving allegations about Amazon’s handling of certain identity-theft victims’ requests for transaction records. The FTC release says the settlement requires records to be provided free within 30 days, subject to identity and claim verification. This regulatory matter does not verify or endorse an identity-protection subscription or Prime Day offer.
