BULKHEAD announced Season 02 for October 15, 2026. An official Steam News search result dated October 9 also listed a Season 02 Preview and repeated that date.

Those announcements establish the schedule, not the complete contents of the progression reset. The preview page did not provide readable detail in the material available before the announced date, so specific unlocks, prices, rank thresholds and carryover rules remain unconfirmed. Do not treat a community summary, a search-result snippet or an old menu as a definitive Season 2 ruleset until the official notes or the shipped client show the same information.

Cash and XP are the published foundation
The official Steam store description says players earn cash and XP through teamplay actions. Cash can be spent on gear or vehicles, and the description says cash persists between matches. That is the broad, published game loop; it is not a Season 2 unlock chart. The store page does not state every way to earn currency, the cost of individual equipment, or the level at which a particular item becomes available.
Because the store description discusses persistent cash, do not assume that a seasonal level reset automatically deletes your cash balance. Conversely, do not assume cash, XP, equipment, vehicles or cosmetics will all carry over. No complete official carryover table was available in the readable announcements.
What the October 11 guide reports about seasonal levels
A WARDOGS Wiki guide updated October 11, 2026 reports that seasonal levels reset and that historical XP is intended to support future Skills. The same guide says there are currently no spendable Skills and no published conversion values. These are useful planning clues, but they are secondary reporting based on an official preview and press-conference information. Keep them provisional until Season 2 notes or the live client confirm the implementation.
A reset of seasonal levels would affect the seasonal progression track, not necessarily every account asset. The available official material does not establish whether historic XP is converted automatically, banked for a later system, discarded, or handled differently at launch.

Do not invent a weapon order, an XP-to-Skills exchange rate, a rank requirement or a special exception for cosmetics. If the client displays a value that conflicts with an older guide, use the current in-game value and the latest official patch notes.
How to play WARDOGS with friends
Joining the same match is only the first part of forming a group. Friends can share a server while landing on different factions or separate squads, so check all three layers: server, faction and squad.
Route 1: use Steam Friends’ Join Game
- Have one person enter the target WARDOGS server.
- Open that person’s Steam Friends entry and choose Join Game, when the option is available.
- After loading, open the in-game roster or squad display. Confirm the server name or identifier, the faction, and the squad membership.
- If the joining player appears in a different faction or outside the intended squad, follow the regrouping steps below instead of assuming the join failed completely.
Steam joining can place friends in the same session, but current guidance warns that faction placement is not guaranteed when capacity or eligibility rules intervene.

Route 2: select the same server manually
- Open the in-game server browser on every computer.
- Choose the same server, checking its name and persistent server ID where shown.
- Confirm that the server still has enough room for everyone before committing to the match.
- Select the same faction if the game offers a choice. If faction capacity prevents that choice, move the whole group to another server with room.
- Have one player create the intended in-game squad. Everyone else selects that squad and checks that each name appears in the roster.
A guide covering Patch 0.11 says Official and Community server browsers were separated, while Community search and filtering and persistent server IDs were improved. Those interface details come from secondary reporting, so labels can change with the live client. The separation does not guarantee automatic faction or squad placement.
Fixing the most common friend-group problems
Everyone joined the same server but factions differ
Check faction capacity first. A full or restricted faction can force a player elsewhere even when the server is correct. If there is no legal way to move together, leave and regroup on a server with enough room. Verify the faction after every join rather than relying on the initial loading screen.

Friends are on the same faction but in different squads
Open the squad roster, have one player create the desired squad, and have the others join it directly. A successful server join is not proof of squad membership. If the squad is full or locked, create another squad on the same faction or select a different server.
Steam Join Game is unavailable
Use the manual browser route. Compare the displayed server name and persistent ID, then confirm the faction and squad in order. Browser visibility, server capacity and eligibility can change while a group is loading, so repeat the checks if one person is delayed.
One player is repeatedly split off
- Check that all players selected the same server category, especially after the Official and Community browser separation.
- Use a server with enough open slots for the whole group.
- Confirm faction eligibility before creating the squad.
- Regroup on a new server if the current one keeps assigning players separately.
What Season 2 Squad Intent may change
The October 11 guide reports a Season 2 feature called Squad Intent. According to that secondary account, public squads can advertise preset intentions such as building, attacking forward operating bases, or helping beginners. That could make it easier to find compatible teammates after joining a server.

Squad Intent is not described as a pre-lobby party queue. The same guide says it does not provide custom squad names. Because the report is based on an official preview and press-conference material whose full article text was not readable, verify the feature in the shipped client before depending on it for a premade-friends workflow. It should be understood as a public-squad label, not a replacement for joining the same server, faction and squad.
Voice chat and equipment for a group
The Steam store page confirms online multiplayer with proximity voice chat. A headset with a microphone is an optional convenience for coordinating with friends, especially when game audio is busy. No specific headset model is required by the published information, and a headset cannot fix a server, faction, squad or channel-selection problem.
Before a match, check the game’s voice channel and input settings, then test that the microphone indicator responds. Friends who prefer not to use voice can still follow the server, faction and roster checks; voice communication is not established as mandatory for every way of playing.

No. The official WARDOGS security and enforcement policy, updated September 7, 2026, warns against paid unlock or progression services and prohibits exploits involving altered files or memory. Enforcement can include progression removal or reset, a temporary suspension or a permanent account ban.
That warning matters during a seasonal transition, when players may be tempted by claims of instant levels, converted XP or guaranteed equipment. Use only the in-game progression systems and official updates. A service promising to preserve or accelerate a reset is not a safe workaround for missing Season 2 information.
A practical pre-Season 2 checklist
- Record your current seasonal level and visible cash balance for your own reference; do not assume either will be converted in a particular way.
- Read the official Season 2 notes or inspect the live client for the actual reset and carryover wording.
- Do not spend money based on an unverified unlock table or XP conversion claim.
- For a friend session, choose a server first, then the same faction, then the same squad.
- Check the roster after loading and again if anyone is delayed or redeployed.
- Use a server with enough capacity rather than repeatedly forcing a full faction.
- Keep any headset or microphone purchase optional; it is not a progression requirement.
Bottom line on Season 2 progression and friend play
Before the announced October 15, 2026 update, WARDOGS had a published cash-and-XP progression loop with cash persisting between matches, but no official readable table for Season 2 unlocks or carryover. The reported seasonal-level reset and future Skills system are provisional until the live update confirms them. For friends, the dependable procedure is procedural rather than automatic: enter the same server, select the same faction, join the same squad and verify the roster. If any layer fails, regroup on a roomier server instead of assuming Steam’s join action completed the whole process.
