Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →If you want stronger low-end sound without running speaker wire across the room, choose a soundbar bundle with a wireless subwoofer. The subwoofer handles bass that a slim bar cannot reproduce as forcefully, while HDMI ARC or eARC usually provides the simplest TV connection. The right choice depends on bass controls, dialogue performance, room size, surround format, bar height and whether you want rear speakers.
Why a wireless subwoofer makes a difference
A soundbar’s compact drivers are constrained by its cabinet size. A separate subwoofer has a larger enclosure and dedicated amplification for low frequencies, giving explosions, kick drums and electronic bass more headroom. Wireless refers to the audio connection between the bar and subwoofer; both units still require nearby power outlets.

Wireless placement is easier than a wired subwoofer connection, but it does not make room acoustics irrelevant. Moving the subwoofer a short distance can change how much bass you hear because walls, corners and seating position create peaks and nulls. Start near the front of the room, then try another position if bass sounds weak or boomy.

Which soundbar has the deepest bass?
There is no defensible single winner from the published specifications. A separate subwoofer is the key design feature for deep bass, but wattage and channel count do not prove that one model reaches a lower frequency than another. The Philips lists 240 W maximum, TCL lists up to 420 W for Q65H and 620 W maximum audio power for Q75, while Polk and Yamaha emphasize the effect of their wireless subwoofers without publishing a common bass-extension test.
For the most controllable result, prioritize a model with an adjustable subwoofer level or blending control. Polk’s BassAdjust is designed for that purpose. Room position, listening distance and your preferred volume can matter as much as the printed power figure.

- Simplified 5.1ch Dolby Atmos Setup: Enjoy immersive 4D sound with real Dolby Atmos and 5.1-channel audio. Five built-in speakers, including two side-firing drivers, create wide surround without rear speakers. Precision DSP ensures <0.5 ms latency for smooth, theater-like sound. Setup takes less than 1 minute.
- Voice Clarity Enhancement: VoiceMX technology uses advanced DSP algorithms to isolate and enhance vocal frequencies in real time. Dialogue remains crisp and easy to follow by separating speech from background effects and music, even at low volumes or during intense scenes.
- 300W Output with 6-Driver System: Featuring five precision-tuned full-range drivers and a dedicated wired wooden subwoofer, the system delivers up to 300W of peak power for bold, room-filling sound. With a frequency response of 45 Hz–18 kHz and a maximum SPL of 99 dB, it reproduces everything from subtle nuances to explosive cinematic effects.
- 18 mm High-Excursion Driver: Powered by BassMX technology, the wired wooden subwoofer features a 18 mm high-excursion driver, a 5.3L tuned cabinet, and a high-density magnetic circuit. This design delivers deeper, tighter bass with greater air displacement and enhanced low-frequency performance—bringing more realism to every scene.
- HDMI eARC for True Dolby Atmos: HDMI eARC supports up to 37 Mbps of bandwidth, unlocking the full potential of lossless Dolby Atmos 5.1-channel audio. Compared to standard ARC, eARC delivers richer surround effects and greater detail. CEC integration allows the TV and soundbar to work together with unified control.
How easy are these systems to set up?
- Check the TV ports. Use HDMI ARC or eARC when available. It is normally the one-cable path for TV audio and lets compatible HDMI-CEC systems share power and volume commands.
- Connect the bar. Plug the HDMI cable into the TV’s port marked ARC or eARC and the soundbar’s ARC/eARC port. Select the corresponding audio output in the TV menu.
- Use optical if necessary. Older TVs without ARC can use an optical cable. Polk also lists aux-in for older televisions.
- Power the subwoofer. Place it where an outlet is available. The wireless pairing carries the signal, not electricity.
- Confirm pairing and tune sound. Most bundles pair during startup. Set the subwoofer level, choose an EQ mode and enable dialogue enhancement or voice adjustment if speech is difficult to understand.
Polk says its Signa S4 subwoofer connects automatically at startup. Yamaha says the True X Bar 90A can connect to a TV with a single HDMI cable while CEC allows the TV remote to control power and volume. Wireless pairing removes a signal cable, but it does not eliminate power-cable placement.

Choosing immersion, dialogue and room fit
Immersion and speaker layout
A 2.1 system such as the Philips emphasizes left/right channels plus bass. A 3.1.2 design such as the Polk adds a center channel and upward-firing height channels. TCL’s Q75 is a 5.1.2 system, while the LG S95TR expands to 9.1.5 with wireless rear speakers. More channels can create a larger sound field, but rear speakers need extra placement and power connections.

- Wireless Subwoofer, Place It Anywhere: The wireless subwoofer connects to the soundbar without audio cables, giving you the freedom to place it anywhere in your room for flexible setup.
- Mica-Reinforced Drivers for Greater Accuracy: Mica-reinforced diaphragms increase driver rigidity by up to 30%, helping suppress cone breakup and unwanted resonance. The enhanced stability helps reduce distortion by up to 20%, delivering cleaner, more accurate sound with improved clarity and detail.
- VoiceMX Technology for Clear Dialogue: VoiceMX technology uses advanced DSP algorithms to isolate and enhance vocal frequencies in real time. By dynamically boosting the 120 Hz–6 kHz vocal range with adaptive EQ and gain control, dialogue stays clear and easy to follow in any scene.
- BassMX Deep Bass Technology: With an 18 mm high-excursion driver, 6.5 L tuned cabinet, and high-density magnetic circuit, the wireless subwoofer produces strong low-frequency output. BassMX optimizes 45–150 Hz bass for deeper, tighter, and more realistic sound at any volume.
- 240W Peak Output with 2.1 Channel System: Featuring a precision-tuned soundbar and a dedicated wireless subwoofer, the system delivers up to 240W of peak power for room-filling sound. With a frequency response of 45 Hz–18 kHz and a maximum SPL of 95 dB, it reproduces clear dialogue, detailed mids, and impactful bass for movies, music, and gaming.
Dialogue clarity
A dedicated center channel can anchor voices to the screen. The TCL Q65H highlights a built-in center channel; Philips supplies Dialogue Enhancement; Polk includes VoiceAdjust. These modes can raise speech intelligibility without requiring you to increase overall volume.
Furniture and room size
Measure the soundbar’s height against the gap below your television so it does not block the screen or infrared sensor. Leave clearance around the subwoofer and avoid assuming that “wireless” means it can be hidden anywhere. A compact 2.1 bar may suit a bedroom or small living room, while a 5.1.2 or larger package is more appropriate when the seating area and listening distance justify surround coverage.

- Visit the movies, from your sofa: Get the popcorn ready. Built-in Dolby Digital gives you an authentic cinematic experience in your home.
- Stream it all: Not in the mood for a film. No problem. With the JBL Bar 2.1 Deep Bass, you can also enjoy wireless music streaming via Bluetooth from your mobile or tablet.
Smart features versus plug-and-play simplicity
Wi-Fi, companion apps and automatic room correction can add streaming options and tuning controls, but each feature introduces another setup step, account requirement or network dependency. If your priority is the fastest installation, favor a bar that works over HDMI ARC or optical without requiring an app. If you want calibration and multi-room functions, accept the additional configuration work and keep the app available for updates and troubleshooting.
What to check before buying
- Confirm that your TV has HDMI ARC/eARC or, for an older set, optical or aux output.
- Check the soundbar’s height against the TV stand and screen.
- Make sure outlets are available for both the bar and subwoofer, and for rear speakers if included.
- Look for a subwoofer-level control when bass blending matters.
- Match the channel layout to your room and willingness to place extra speakers.
- Treat wattage as a published specification, not proof of the lowest bass extension.
Bottom line
A wireless-subwoofer soundbar is the most direct route to deeper bass with minimal cable work. HDMI ARC/eARC keeps installation simple; optical remains a practical fallback. Choose Polk Signa S4 for straightforward setup with BassAdjust and VoiceAdjust, Philips TAB5309/37 for a compact 2.1 package with dialogue and EQ modes, TCL Q65H or Q75 when center-channel or higher-channel Atmos layouts matter, Yamaha True X Bar 90A for one-cable TV control, and LG S95TR when you want a complete rear-speaker surround system. Published power figures cannot establish which reaches the lowest bass, so room placement and adjustable controls should decide the final choice.
