Welcome to Wallpaper Wednesday! In this weekly roundup, we’ll give you a handful of Android wallpapers you can download and use on your phone, tablet, or even your laptop/PC. The October 14, 2026 edition features nine unwatermarked images: six reader submissions and three photographs from Android Authority staff. Preview images in the roundup are compressed, while full-resolution files are available through the linked Google Drive downloads.

What is included in the October 14 wallpaper roundup?

The collection covers travel, architecture, wildlife, plants and quiet outdoor scenes. Because the source does not publish pixel dimensions, choose an image by subject and composition, then check how its crop looks on your particular screen before applying it.

How to choose and apply one

For a phone

  1. Open the full-resolution download rather than saving the compressed preview shown in the article.
  2. Save the JPG or PNG to your device’s Photos, Gallery or Files app.
  3. Open the image and choose your operating system’s Set as wallpaper option.
  4. Preview the lock screen and home screen separately. Move or zoom the image so a face, animal, building or other focal point is not hidden by the clock and icons.
  5. Apply the crop and check it again in both light and dark modes; a moody building image, for example, may make dark icons difficult to read.

For a tablet, laptop or desktop

  1. Download the full-resolution file to the computer or transfer it from your phone.
  2. Use the operating system’s wallpaper or background settings and select the saved JPG or PNG.
  3. Test the image with the taskbar, dock and desktop icons visible. A landscape such as Lebyazhye Lake generally gives more flexible space than a tightly framed subject.

Why the full-resolution file matters

The images embedded in the roundup are compressed previews, so they are intended for viewing the selection rather than serving as the final background. The linked Google Drive files provide the full-resolution versions. Downloading those files gives your phone or computer more image data to work with when it crops or scales the wallpaper. The source does not state technical dimensions, so avoid assuming that every file has the same aspect ratio or is optimized for a particular handset.

What makes this edition different?

Three photographs come from Android Authority staff, while six are community submissions. That mix gives you both editorial travel photography and personal images from contributors around the world. The two jabuticaba photographs are especially distinctive: they show different seasons of a tree with a family history reaching back to the submitter’s great-great-grandfather.

Halloween wallpapers are coming next

The remaining October Wallpaper Wednesday posts are planned as Halloween editions. Android Authority is seeking spooky images, pumpkin carvings, fall settings and Day of the Dead wallpapers for those installments. The announcement means readers who want a seasonal background should watch the next October roundups rather than treating this nine-image set as the final Halloween selection.

How to submit your own wallpaper

What you can send

  • Your own photograph or digital artwork.
  • An unwatermarked image.
  • Work created by you and then augmented with AI tools is allowed.
  • Purely AI-generated images are rejected.

What the form asks for

  1. Upload the highest-resolution version you have.
  2. Enter your contributor name.
  3. Add a brief description of the image.
  4. Include a social-media link only if you want to; it is optional.
  5. Agree that Android Authority may share the image freely.

Published contributors receive credit and may receive an optional link in the article. Submitting an image therefore requires permission for that sharing arrangement, not merely permission to display a private preview.

Quick chooser

  • Want a beach holiday mood? Start with the organized sunbeds.
  • Prefer travel photography? Choose the Asian window scene or Scottish phone booth.
  • Looking for wildlife? Try the rooftop cat or the bird hidden among flowers.

  • Need a darker architectural background? Use the University of Zululand building.
  • Need a calm wide scene for a computer? Try the canoes on Lebyazhye Lake.
