Nintendo’s current bundles already add priced-in value, while the company’s previous holiday campaign focused on games and accessories rather than cutting the console’s price. Buy now if an available bundle includes a game you want and stock certainty matters; wait only if you accept that a later offer could be retailer-specific—or never beat today’s bundle value.
What the Switch 2 costs now
Nintendo changed the US Switch 2 MSRP from $449.99 to $499.99 on September 1, 2026, according to its 2026 price-revision filing. The filing says US prices exclude sales tax. The same filing records Japan’s Japanese-language system at ¥59,980 from May 25, 2026, and Europe’s price moving from €469.99 to €499.99 on September 1, 2026; the Japanese and European figures follow the tax or My Nintendo Store conventions stated in that filing.

The Mario Kart package is explicitly marked “While supplies last.” The Sports Resort package is not scheduled to become available until October 22, five days before the US Thanksgiving week begins, so its inventory may be a more important constraint than a hypothetical holiday coupon.

Is a Black Friday 2026 hardware sale confirmed?
No authoritative Nintendo Black Friday 2026 hardware-price list has been published in the available material. That means no one can responsibly promise a cut below the post-September US MSRP. The most supportable expectations are retailer-specific bundles, game discounts, accessory promotions, gift cards or temporary stock-driven offers.
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
A listing labeled “Black Friday deal” is not automatically cheaper than buying now. Compare its final checkout price with the current MSRP, then assign a realistic value to any included game, Nintendo Switch Online membership, case or storage card. A bundle can be a better purchase without lowering the console’s sticker price; conversely, a small discount may be poor value if it replaces a game you actually wanted.
What last year’s holiday promotion suggests
Nintendo’s official 2025 holiday announcement scheduled Cyber Deals on the eShop from November 20 through December 3. Physical game discounts began November 23, with $10 off selected amiibo and $20 off selected Samsung MicroSD Express Cards. That campaign did not announce a Switch 2 console price cut.

- The next evolution of the Nintendo Switch system

- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Supports up to 4K resolution** when using a compatible game and TV connected via the included Nintendo Switch 2 dock
- Nintendo Switch 2 plays compatible physical and digital Nintendo Switch games.***
This is a pattern, not a guarantee. Nintendo could change its strategy in 2026, but the previous campaign makes software and accessories a more defensible expectation than a universal hardware markdown.

Tom’s Guide’s 2026 listings show the standalone system at $499 on Amazon, the Mario Kart World package at $549 and the Switch Sports Resort package at $529. Those rounded listings track Nintendo’s official prices closely rather than revealing a broad discount. The same coverage reports reductions on Switch 2 cases and game-card storage, so shoppers may find more immediate savings by completing their setup instead of waiting for the console itself.

Regional pricing can look different. GamesRadar reports an Australian JB Hi-Fi price of AU$699, described as AU$70 below AU$769, while warning that stock is limited and the market’s Black Friday direction remains uncertain. Australian shoppers should compare the local tax-included price and bundle contents rather than convert the US MSRP directly.

Buy an official bundle now when
- You want the included Mario Kart World game, or plan to buy it anyway.
- The $549.99 Mario Kart package is still in stock and its stated savings outweigh the benefit of gambling on an unknown promotion.
- You need the console for a specific date and cannot risk holiday shortages.
- Your retailer offers a return window, price match or holiday price-adjustment policy that protects an early purchase.
Wait for Black Friday when
- You do not need the system before late November or December.
- You are willing to monitor several retailers and accept that the best offer could be a gift card, game bundle or accessory rather than a lower console price.
- You would be disappointed if the final price is unchanged or stock sells out before you decide.
Consider the Sports Resort package after October 22
At $529.99, Nintendo’s Sports Resort bundle is cheaper than the Mario Kart package and carries Nintendo’s stated $27.98 savings. Its value depends on wanting that game; do not treat the lower bundle price as a universal discount on the hardware. Availability starts October 22 and remains subject to retailer inventory.
How to evaluate a claimed Black Friday deal
- Use the correct baseline. Start with the revised US MSRP, not the former $449.99 launch-era figure or a rounded price copied from an older article.
- Separate hardware from extras. Record the console price, each game’s normal price, any Nintendo Switch Online time and the value of accessories independently.
- Check what “saving” means. A retailer may compare against a temporary list price, include a gift card, or require a membership. Read the conditions before counting the offer.
- Confirm stock and delivery. Official bundles are limited, and a low price that cannot ship before your deadline has little practical value.
- Review protection rules. Before ordering early, confirm the return period, price-match terms and whether holiday purchases receive a later price adjustment.
- Verify compatibility. Choose Switch 2-specific cases and storage accessories. Original Switch accessories should not be assumed to fit every Switch 2 component.
The bottom line for shoppers
Black Friday 2026 may produce a useful retailer promotion, but there is no confirmed evidence of a Nintendo console markdown. The Mario Kart World bundle provides a documented saving today, and the Sports Resort bundle offers another official option from October 22. Buy one when its game and guaranteed availability fit your plans. Otherwise, set a target price, track the post-September MSRP, and wait with the understanding that the eventual deal may be a game, accessory or gift-card incentive—or no better than the current bundles.
