No verified list of 27 current, Vue 3-only admin templates exists to be ranked. The official Vue ecosystem directory is a vendor and product directory, not a curated or maintained shortlist, so this guide does not present a numbered ranking. It covers the three starters with the most checkable details (Sakai, Materio and Freya), compares their prices and license tiers, names other directory entries that still need checking, and gives a verification routine to run before you commit to any template.
What to compare before you pick a template
Admin templates look similar in screenshots, so compare them on five axes:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Framework and component library. Confirm the Vue major version and whether the template is built on PrimeVue, Vuetify or Bootstrap. Also check whether it uses Vite, Nuxt or another toolchain.
- Workflow coverage. Look for the screens you will actually build: dashboards, data tables, forms, CRUD, authentication, roles and permissions, charts, and any domain-specific pages.
- Customization and documentation. Check theme options, layout variants, responsive behavior and how the code is organized. Documentation quality is often the difference between a one-day change and a week of digging.
- License scope. Read who may use the code, for how many end products, and for commercial or non-commercial work only.
- Maintenance signal. A directory entry does not prove active maintenance. Look for recent commits, release notes and a demo that works.
The three starters with source-backed detail
Sakai (PrimeVue, free)
PrimeVue’s template page describes Sakai as a free Vue application template. Its live demo exposes a dashboard, UI components, CRUD, authentication and related pages, which makes it a practical free option to inspect. Two cautions apply. First, the older sakai-vue-cli GitHub repository is archived. Start from the PrimeVue template page rather than that repository. Second, the archived repository does not mean the current Sakai demo is archived. The listings checked did not state the Vue major version or the license text for Sakai, so confirm both in the downloaded package.
Materio (ThemeSelection, paid)
The Vuetify Store lists Materio as built on Vue 3 and Vuetify 3, with Vite and application features. ThemeSelection’s demo page adds Vite, Vue Router, Pinia, authentication and access-control support, layout variants and example applications. Materio fits best if your team already works in Vuetify and wants routing, state management and access control pre-wired. Its prices differ between the two listings, as the next section shows.
#1 Best Overall
Freya (PrimeVue, paid)
PrimeVue’s official page calls Freya an admin template and describes it as a Vite-based JavaScript project. If your team needs TypeScript, confirm that before purchase, because the listing does not describe a TypeScript build. Freya has two license tiers, shown below, and the page characterizes the entry tier as non-commercial and limited to a single end product.
Prices and license tiers as listed
The table reflects prices and license wording as displayed on 7 October 2026. Vendors change prices and terms, and the two Materio listings disagree, so treat every figure as a starting point for checkout, not a fixed price.
| Product and listing | Entry tier | Business tier | Top tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Materio, Vuetify Store listing | Personal: $69 | Commercial: $139 | Unlimited: $499 |
| Materio, ThemeSelection demo listing | Personal: $69 | Commercial: $149 | Unlimited: $699 |
| Freya, PrimeVue listing | Basic: $59 (non-commercial, single end product, as described on the page) | Extended: $590 (commercial, multiple end products, as described on the page) | No third tier listed |
The ThemeSelection demo page refers to 12 months of updates and support. The Vuetify Store listing, as checked, did not state that period, so confirm how long updates and support run for the tier you buy. The listings also do not spell out the full scope of Materio’s personal and commercial tiers, so read the license text at checkout before deciding which tier covers your product.

Other names in the directory
The Vue ecosystem directory lists many more entries across PrimeVue, Flatlogic, WrapPixel, CodedThemes, ThemeSelection and AdminMart. Names that appear there beyond the three covered above include Apollo, Atlantis, Sing App Vue, Spike, Berry and several Modernize variants. Treat these as leads only. The directory does not confirm that each one targets Vue 3, is current, or carries the license you need. Run the verification steps below on any of them before adding them to a shortlist.
How to verify a template before you commit
- Confirm the Vue major version. Open
package.jsonand find thevuedependency. Afternpm install, runnpm ls vue. You should see a 3.x line. - Confirm the component library. Check whether the template depends on
primevueorvuetify. Pick the one your team can maintain. - Check maintenance. Open the repository or vendor changelog and note the date of the latest commit or release. A reasonable threshold for many teams is a release within the past year, but that is a judgment call, not a standard.
- Test the live demo. Sign in if authentication is offered, open a CRUD table, submit a form with an empty required field to see validation, and narrow the window to phone width to check the layout.
- Confirm the build. Run
npm run devandnpm run build. The dev server should start and the build should finish without errors. - Read the license against your use. Count end products, note whether the work is commercial, and check whether client work is allowed.
- Confirm the update and support period at checkout. Do this for the exact tier you plan to buy.
Choosing by situation
- Free start in the PrimeVue ecosystem: Sakai, after you run the steps above against the current PrimeVue-linked version rather than the archived repository.
- Vuetify 3 team that needs routing, state, authentication and layouts: Materio. Choose the tier by the number of end products and whether the work is commercial.
- Single non-commercial project or prototype: Freya Basic, or Materio’s personal tier if the personal terms fit your use.
- Commercial product with several deployments: Freya Extended, or Materio’s commercial or unlimited tier, once you have confirmed how each tier counts end products.
Feature counts and vendor claims are a weaker guide than these checks. A template that matches your component library, passes the build test and has a license that covers your deployments will serve you better than one with more pages you will never use.
