Vodafone TV is a credible new UK alternative to Sky Stream, with a basic plan from £10 a month. But that fee is not the whole cost: Vodafone TV requires a Vodafone mobile or broadband plan, and its TV plans run for 24 months. The £17-a-month Essential tier is the more direct streaming-bundle comparison because it includes Netflix Standard with Ads and HBO Max Standard with Ads.
Vodafone TV plans and prices
Vodafone’s launch announcement, published 2 October 2026, lists three 24-month TV plans. The service is available to Vodafone customers with a mobile or broadband plan; individual eligibility may depend on the plan you already have.

| Plan | Monthly TV price | What Vodafone says is included | Key qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vodafone TV | £10 | Freely, more than 150 additional live channels, 300+ games, app downloads, Box Office and selected Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos content. | Requires a Vodafone mobile or broadband plan. Netflix and HBO Max are not included in this tier. |
| Vodafone TV Essential | £17 | Vodafone TV, Netflix Standard with Ads and HBO Max Standard with Ads. | Requires an eligible Vodafone plan. The included streaming subscriptions are ad-supported tiers. |
| Vodafone TV Ultimate | £25.50 | Essential plus Disney+ Standard and Prime, as specified in Vodafone’s plan notes. | Vodafone identifies this bundle for mobile customers. The £25.50 price is the current official figure; T3 reported a conflicting £22.50 price at launch. |
These are TV fees, not necessarily the total household bill: add the required Vodafone mobile or broadband plan when comparing costs. Vodafone’s announced annual TV price rises take effect on 1 April: TV moves from £10 to £11.50 in 2027 and £13 in 2028; Essential from £17 to £18.50 and then £20; Ultimate from £25.50 to £27 and then £29.50. Check the live terms before signing up, as prices and eligibility can change. Vodafone’s launch announcement and plan details.
What the £10 TV Hub includes
The Vodafone TV Hub is a streaming box that combines live television, apps and games. Vodafone says its Freely service offers more than 70 live channels and thousands of hours of on-demand programming from broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5, without a dish or aerial. Vodafone also lists more than 150 additional live channels, app downloads through Google Play, and Box Office films for rental or purchase.
- Games: More than 300 cloud games are listed. Vodafone says you can play with a smartphone or Bluetooth controller; the Hub does not include a controller, according to launch coverage.
- Picture and sound: The box supports 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos on selected content. Vodafone notes that Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are not available on HBO Max Standard with Ads.
- Other features: Vodafone lists profiles, smart search, parental controls and a companion viewing app.
- Platform: Vodafone says the Hub is powered by Netgem PLEIO. That does not establish that a separately sold Netgem device has the same Vodafone service, subscriptions or terms.
A Bluetooth game controller is an optional extra for gaming, not part of the stated box package. Vodafone has not identified a specific compatible controller model in the cited launch information, so check compatibility before buying one.
Is Vodafone TV a real rival to Sky Stream?
Yes, particularly for viewers who want a dish-free service built around live UK channels and apps. Vodafone’s Consumer Director said the company aimed to compete with Sky Stream, and the product’s mix of Freely, Android TV apps, cloud games and bundled streaming subscriptions gives it a distinct proposition.

The headline prices alone do not show which service is better value. At launch, Cord Busters reported Sky Ultimate TV at £24 a month on a 24-month contract, including Sky channels such as Sky Atlantic, Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads, HBO Max Basic with Ads, Hayu and discovery+. That is a dated independent price snapshot, not a current Sky quote; check Sky’s checkout for current price, channel line-up and contract terms. Sky Stream’s channels and catalogue are not interchangeable with Vodafone’s.
Compare the full cost, not just the TV fee
- Underlying service: Vodafone TV requires an eligible Vodafone mobile or broadband relationship. Include that plan’s price in the comparison unless you already pay for it.
- Commitment and rises: Vodafone’s TV plans are 24 months and have announced annual increases. Check the competing package’s current commitment, exit terms and any planned rises too.
- Streaming tiers: Essential includes Netflix Standard with Ads and HBO Max Standard with Ads, not ad-free subscriptions. Account for any paid upgrades or services you would otherwise buy separately.
- Channels and programmes: Compare the actual channels, shows and films you watch; a larger-looking bundle does not guarantee that it has your must-have content.
- Hardware and extras: Vodafone’s Hub adds cloud games and Google Play apps, but gaming with a controller may mean buying one separately.
Time-limited broadband offer and switching support
Through 28 October 2026, Vodafone says new customers taking Pro Broadband can get Vodafone TV Essential at no extra cost for the first 24 months of the Pro Broadband contract. The broadband commitment and offer deadline are part of that deal; “free” does not mean the broadband itself is free. Vodafone also says existing Vodafone Together customers with a Pay Monthly mobile line can add Pro Broadband and TV with a further £4 monthly saving, making Pro Broadband plus Essential £35 a month under the stated offer. Confirm eligibility and the total payable at checkout.

For customers switching both broadband and TV, Vodafone says it can contribute up to £300 towards early leaving fees. One Touch Switch handles the broadband transfer, but Vodafone cautions that TV services may need to be cancelled separately depending on the previous provider. Check your old provider’s cancellation requirements before switching.
Why Vodafone is pitching an all-in-one TV hub
Vodafone’s launch case is aimed at people who find their TV subscriptions hard to manage. In a Vodafone-commissioned Opinium poll of 2,000 nationally representative UK adults, conducted 25–29 September 2026, 40% said they paid for TV services they did not regularly use, while 35% had not changed TV provider in the previous five years. The same poll found 16% cited perceived switching hassle and 12% exit-fee concerns as reasons for not switching; one in 10 said they struggled to track multiple apps or subscriptions, and 18% named searching across services as their biggest TV frustration. These are poll findings commissioned by Vodafone, not independently audited market statistics.
Vodafone Consumer Director Rob Winterschladen described the proposition as “one simple, intuitive experience” intended to bring entertainment together and cut unnecessary costs. The practical test for any household is whether the included channels and streaming tiers replace services it actually pays for: combining subscriptions is useful only if the bundle suits what you watch.
