The VMAX VX2 Lite pairs full suspension with a 25 mph claimed top speed and a listed U.S. starting price of $799. Its two battery options advertise ranges of 31 or 56 miles, but VMAX’s own figures show why mode and riding conditions matter: in top-performance mode at urban traffic speeds, the company reports 17 miles for the smaller battery and 29.9 miles for the larger one. Those are manufacturer figures, not independent test results.
What the VX2 Lite offers for the price
VMAX’s U.S. storefront listed the VX2 Lite at $799 on October 7, 2026, alongside a crossed-out $1,099 price. The listing and price can change. VMAX positions the Lite as a more accessible, lower-speed alternative to its VX2 Hub, with simpler display and braking hardware; that is the company’s positioning, not an independent value assessment.

For that price, the listed package includes a hydraulic front fork and elastomer rear suspension, 10-inch tubeless tires, a front drum brake, and a rear regenerative electronic brake. Separate brake levers operate the two braking systems. VMAX also lists IPX6 water resistance. These are manufacturer specifications; they do not establish how comfortable, effective, or durable the scooter is in independent testing.

How the two battery versions compare
| Specification | 31-mile version | 56-mile version |
|---|---|---|
| Battery | 48 V, 499 Wh | 48 V, 874 Wh |
| Advertised maximum range | Up to 31 miles | Up to 56 miles |
| Top-performance-mode result at urban traffic speeds | 17 miles (SR) | 29.9 miles (LR) |
| Listed charging time | 5 hours | 9 hours |
| Listed weight | 48.3 lb | 51.8 lb |
All figures in the table are from VMAX’s U.S. product page, accessed October 7, 2026. The range results are the manufacturer’s figures, not results from an independent ride test. The larger battery adds 3.5 lb and takes four hours longer to charge, in exchange for greater stated capacity and range.
#1 Best Overall

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What the range claims mean for a commute
VMAX’s “up to” range figures use a specific setup: a 165 lb (75 kg) rider traveling steadily at 12 mph in Eco or Standard mode, in moderate weather, with correct tire pressure on level ground. The same page reports 17 miles for the smaller-battery version and 29.9 miles for the larger version in top-performance mode at urban traffic speeds. The figures describe different conditions and modes; neither should be treated as a guaranteed everyday distance.
For commute planning, the top-performance-mode figures are the more relevant of the two if you expect to ride faster or use the strongest mode, but they remain VMAX’s reported results. Leave margin for your route, stops, hills, rider and cargo weight, weather, and tire pressure rather than planning to use every advertised mile. The evidence available here does not establish an independently measured real-world range.

Power, speed and hills: specifications, not verified tests
VMAX lists a 1,400 W peak motor, a maximum speed of 25 mph, and incline capability of up to 28%. These are company specifications and claims, not independently verified performance measurements. The company’s first-look post contrasts the Lite’s 25 mph claimed maximum with 34 mph for the VX2 Hub, but that comparison does not establish either scooter’s on-road speed in a particular rider’s conditions.
The same first-look post mentions a 29 mph unloaded free-spin peak with the wheel off the ground, while explicitly cautioning that a wheel spinning in the air is not real-world top speed. It also says full speed, range, hill-climb, and braking tests were still pending. That observation is not a road-speed test, and it should not replace the product page’s stated 25 mph maximum.

Suspension and braking: what the hardware tells you
Full suspension
The front hydraulic fork and rear elastomer suspension mean the VX2 Lite has suspension at both ends. That is a meaningful feature to consider if your commute includes rough pavement, but the listed components alone cannot quantify ride comfort or show how well they handle a particular surface. No independent comfort test is established here.
Brakes and controls
The listed setup combines a front drum brake with rear regenerative electronic braking and separate levers. VMAX describes the VX2 Hub as having a rear disc brake plus regenerative braking, while the Lite uses the drum-and-regen arrangement. That identifies a hardware difference, not a measured stopping-distance comparison.

Portability, warranty and daily setup
At 48.3 lb or 51.8 lb, depending on battery, the VX2 Lite is not a light carry for stairs or frequent lifting. The larger battery is 3.5 lb heavier. VMAX lists a 24-month warranty for a new scooter on its product page; a separate refurb/open-box listing carried a 12-month warranty, so check the terms for the exact item being purchased rather than assuming the new-scooter coverage applies to a refurbished unit.
Recommended Free Tools
VMAX’s VX2 Lite guide recommends checking tire pressure regularly and gives a range of 36–43 PSI (2.5–3 bar), depending on rider weight. The guide says higher pressure can improve range and lower pressure within its recommended range can soften the ride at the expense of range. VMAX’s statement that proper pressure can yield “up to 10% more range” is a manufacturer claim, not a guaranteed gain.

Before riding, VMAX advises: “Wear a helmet when riding and first try the scooter out in a safe area (e.g. parking lot).” The guide also says its iOS and Android app can assist with trip planning, including charging stops; the app is not required to operate the scooter. Follow the product guide for setup and the applicable local rules for where and how you can ride.
Quick Recap
Who should consider the VX2 Lite?
- Consider it if you want a scooter with front and rear suspension, a claimed 25 mph maximum, and a choice between a smaller battery and a higher-capacity option.
- Look carefully at the larger battery if your routes are longer or you want more stated capacity, while accounting for its 51.8 lb listed weight and nine-hour listed charge time.
- Think twice if your routine involves carrying a scooter up stairs or you need a dependable real-world range figure before buying. The listed weights are substantial, and the evidence here contains no independent range test.
- Compare braking needs realistically: the Lite has a front drum and rear regenerative electronic brake, but no independent stopping-distance result is established here.
