The vivo S2 5G is the stronger pick for display quality and selfie-camera specifications; the vivo Y51 Pro 5G has a slightly larger rated battery and a lower official India-store price in the captured 128GB listings. Both list the same processor, RAM, storage technology, rear-camera resolution and charging speed, so the decision largely comes down to screen, front camera, handling and current price.
This comparison is for the India-market vivo Y51 Pro 5G and vivo S2, which some comparison listings call the “vivo S2 5G.” Specifications below are manufacturer-listed, not results from independent testing. Official-store prices are a snapshot and can change.

Sharper, curved display
The S2’s 6.83-inch curved AMOLED/POLED panel has a listed resolution of 2800 × 1260. The Y51 Pro’s 6.75-inch LCD is 1570 × 720. Both are rated for refresh rates up to 120Hz, but the S2 has the substantially higher stated resolution and uses an AMOLED-type display. That makes the S2 the more compelling specification choice if screen detail and display technology are priorities; the figures alone do not establish how either panel looks in everyday use.

Higher-resolution selfie camera and advertised 4K video
The S2 lists a 32MP front camera, compared with 8MP on the Y51 Pro. vivo also advertises 4K recording on the S2’s front and rear cameras. These are resolution and feature claims, not proof of better-looking photos or video in real-world conditions.
Lighter listed weight and in-display reader
At 197g or 199g depending on colour, the S2 is listed as lighter than the Y51 Pro at 219g. It also places its optical fingerprint sensor under the display, while the Y51 Pro uses a side-mounted capacitive reader. Which arrangement is more convenient is a matter of preference.

Where the Y51 Pro has the advantage
Slightly larger rated battery
vivo lists a typical capacity of 7200mAh for the Y51 Pro and 7050mAh for the S2, a 150mAh difference. Both list 44W charging. Capacity figures do not establish which phone lasts longer between charges; actual battery life depends on usage and other conditions.
Lower official-store price in the captured 128GB listings
The vivo India E-Store search results captured in 2026 listed the Y51 Pro 8GB/128GB at ₹34,999, compared with ₹42,999 for the S2 8GB/128GB—a difference of ₹8,000. The Y51 Pro 8GB/128GB listing was marked unavailable in that snapshot, so the lower displayed price did not establish that the variant could be purchased. The store also listed the Y51 Pro 8GB/256GB at ₹37,999; the cited S2 listing was for 128GB, so those prices are not a like-for-like storage comparison. Those figures differ from the official-store snapshot and should not be treated as the same seller quote; the available information does not establish why the prices differ. Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the two phones have in common
The core listed configuration is closely matched: both use the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo, offer 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, support refresh rates up to 120Hz, list 50MP + 2MP rear cameras and support 44W charging. On paper, the processor and shared baseline features do not provide a clear reason to choose one over the other. The more meaningful distinctions are the display, front camera, rated battery capacity, weight, fingerprint-reader position and the price and stock of the exact variant.

- Consider the vivo Y51 Pro if its lower listed 128GB price is important, you prefer a side-mounted fingerprint reader, or you value its slightly higher typical battery-capacity rating. Confirm that the exact model is in stock and check the current price.
