The realme 16T 5G leads on the comparison listing for screen refresh rate, battery capacity and selfie-camera resolution; the vivo Y51 Pro 5G is listed with a higher-tier chipset and slightly higher peak clock. Neither is a universal winner, and the available price figures are too inconsistent to establish a reliable current difference. The comparison below is India-focused and based on listed specifications, not hands-on tests.
How the listed specifications compare
The figures below come mainly from 91mobiles, a secondary comparison source. The official realme India page confirms the 16T’s 8000mAh battery and 45W charging. vivo’s official India page identifies the Y51 Pro 5G and Android 16, but the specification table was not available in the source extract; confirm the exact model and variant before buying.

Where the realme 16T has the listed advantage
Display smoothness and size
The comparison listing gives the realme a 6.81-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate, against 6.75 inches and 120Hz for the vivo. That makes the realme the stronger pick on these listed figures if a larger screen or faster refresh rate is your priority. Refresh rate alone does not establish overall display quality; the available comparison does not settle brightness, resolution or performance in specific apps.
Battery capacity and charging
At 8000mAh versus 7200mAh listed, the realme has the larger nominal battery. realme India also lists 45W charging, while 91mobiles lists 44W for vivo. Capacity and charging wattage do not tell you how long a phone lasts in your routine: screen settings, mobile signal, apps and workload all matter, and no comparable independent battery test is available here.

realme advertises “7-year battery health” as a manufacturer claim. Its footnote describes a theoretical calculation based on realme Lab data and charging once daily, with capacity expected to remain above 80% after seven years under normal-temperature conditions. This is not an independently verified guarantee of the experience every owner will get. realme India’s product page sets out the claim and its qualifications.
Selfie-camera resolution
The comparison source lists a 16MP front camera for realme and an 8MP one for vivo. That is a resolution advantage on paper, not proof of better selfies: image processing, sensor characteristics and lighting also affect results. Both phones are listed with a 50MP main rear camera, but matching megapixel counts do not mean the cameras produce equivalent photos.

Where the vivo Y51 Pro may suit you better
Chipset listing
91mobiles lists the vivo’s Dimensity 7360 Turbo at up to 2.5GHz and the realme’s Dimensity 6300 at up to 2.4GHz. This favors the vivo on the comparison source’s chipset classification and nominal peak clock, but it does not establish which phone is faster in everyday use, gaming or sustained workloads. Clock speed is only one specification; comparable independent benchmarks and thermal testing are not available here.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Choose by your priorities, not one headline number
If the vivo’s chipset is your deciding factor, first check independent tests for the exact models and software versions you can buy. If you are choosing based on gaming or long sessions, sustained performance and heat matter more than a peak clock figure alone. The evidence here does not support a definitive performance winner.

Price difference: check like-for-like India listings
A current, dependable price gap cannot be calculated from the available listings. 91mobiles crawls showed examples including ₹31,169 for vivo and ₹29,999 for realme, but other crawls showed ₹34,999 for vivo and ₹27,999–₹28,999 for realme. These are inconsistent snapshots, not a same-time, retailer-verified comparison. They may reflect different variants, sellers, discounts or crawl dates.
Before deciding on price, compare the same RAM and storage tier at the same time and check the seller, warranty, device condition and whether the displayed amount depends on a bank offer or exchange. The official realme and vivo pages reviewed did not provide a verified live price. A headline price can make one phone appear cheaper without showing whether the listings are truly comparable.

Durability claims need their qualifications
realme says the 16T passed MIL-STD 810H shock-resistance tests and promotes IP66/68/69/69K ratings. The company explains that “IP69 Pro” refers to simultaneous compliance with IPX6, IPX8, IPX9 and IPX9K plus capabilities it defines. It also warns that water resistance can decline with use and liquid damage is not covered by warranty. Treat these as manufacturer claims with stated limits, not as an unconditional waterproof promise or a reason to expose the phone deliberately to water. realme India’s product page provides the details.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the realme 16T 5G if the listed 144Hz display, larger 8000mAh battery or 16MP front camera is more important to you, and the exact variant’s live price works for your budget.
- Consider the vivo Y51 Pro 5G if you favor its listed Dimensity 7360 Turbo chipset and want to investigate real-world tests for the exact model before purchase.
- Wait to compare exact listings if price is decisive. Match memory and storage, seller and offer conditions rather than relying on inconsistent crawled prices.
