The real differences are the chipset (Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 vs MediaTek Dimensity 6300), the selfie camera (8 MP vs 5 MP), the dust and water rating (IP68/IP69 vs a reported IP65), the screen size, and a price gap of roughly ₹2,000 in the listings checked. This comparison covers the India market only. Y31 5G figures come from vivo India’s official page. T5 Lite 5G figures come from 91mobiles listings, so confirm them for the exact variant you buy.

Where the phones match
- Battery and charging: both list 6500 mAh and 44 W. Capacity alone does not predict endurance, since the chipset, display and software all affect it. No independent battery test of either phone was available, so neither can be called the longer-lasting one.
- Display type: both use HD+ LCD panels at up to 120 Hz. The resolution gap (1608 × 720 vs 1600 × 720) is trivial.
- Rear cameras: both pair a 50 MP main sensor with a 0.08 MP secondary sensor. That second sensor is an auxiliary one, not a meaningful extra lens.
Where they differ
Processor
The Y31 5G uses a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 built on 4 nm. The T5 Lite 5G is reported with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300. Both are entry-level 5G chips. No comparable benchmark or gaming test was available for these two phones, so treat any “faster phone” claim as unproven. For everyday use, apps, video and light gaming, expect broadly similar behaviour.

Screen size
The T5 Lite 5G has the larger display at 6.74 inches against 6.68 inches. It is a small difference that most people will barely notice. vivo lists the Y31 5G with a 1000-nit HBM (high brightness mode) value, but the T5 Lite listing gives no brightness figure to compare against.

Dust and water protection
vivo’s India page rates the Y31 5G at IP68/IP69. The T5 Lite 5G is reported at IP65, which covers dust-tight protection and water jets but not submersion. If you want protection against rain, splashes or an accidental dunk, the Y31 5G has the stronger rating on paper.

Memory and storage
The Y31 5G is listed in 4 GB + 128 GB and 6 GB + 128 GB. The T5 Lite 5G is reported with 4 GB or 6 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB storage. On the Y31 5G, the microSD slot shares space with the second SIM, so you must choose between dual SIM and expandable storage.

Which one to choose
- Choose the Y31 5G if you want the better selfie camera, the higher IP68/IP69 rating, and the lower listed price. It is also the phone with a manufacturer-confirmed spec sheet.
- Choose the T5 Lite 5G if you prefer a slightly bigger screen, a newer Android and OriginOS version out of the box, and possibly more storage, and you are fine paying about ₹1,400–2,200 more at the listings checked.
With the same battery, charging speed, refresh rate and main camera, neither phone is a clear overall winner. The Y31 5G has more verifiable advantages for the money, while the T5 Lite 5G’s case rests mostly on its newer software and larger display.
