Those specifications make it a strong candidate for creators who want high-frame-rate capture and footage designed for grading, but they do not prove it outperforms other flagships. A fair comparison requires equivalent mode, camera, and recording-condition details for each rival.
What the X500 Pro lists for slow motion and Log
4K slow motion at 240 fps
vivo’s official X500 Pro product page lists native 4K 240 fps slow-motion recording. The listed in-camera route is Video → Movie Workshop → Super Slow Motion. “Native” matters: it indicates capture at the stated frame rate, rather than merely creating a higher-frame-rate-looking result by interpolating ordinary footage. The product specification alone does not establish how long the phone sustains recording or how stabilization, autofocus, and exposure behave at that setting.

4K 120 fps 10-bit Log
The same product page lists 4K 120 fps recording in 10-bit Log and advertises LUT output. Log is intended to retain image information for post-production grading, rather than deliver a finished, high-contrast look straight from the camera. vivo also says the main camera’s Log mode offers up to 17 EV of dynamic range; that is a vivo lab claim, and the company says results can vary with test conditions, software version, and individual unit. It is not an independent measurement or a guarantee for every scene. See vivo’s X500 Pro specifications and qualifications.
Announced color workflow
In its September 21, 2026 announcement, vivo described support for 10-bit 4:2:2 APV encoding and ACES, and a collaboration with DaVinci Resolve for official color conversion. These are manufacturer-announced workflow capabilities; the announcement does not independently establish interoperability across every setup or the quality of graded output. How it compares with other flagship phones
The available specifications do not support a verified head-to-head ranking against other current flagships. A phone advertising a high frame rate or Log mode is not automatically comparable: resolution, frame rate, bit depth, chroma sampling, codec, camera lens, and processing can differ. Nor do the X500 Pro’s listed modes establish better-looking footage. To compare models for a real production workflow, check the same details for each phone:
- Slow motion: maximum resolution and frame rate, and whether the rate is captured natively or generated through processing.
- Log and color: resolution, frame rate, bit depth, chroma sampling, codec, LUT availability, and color-conversion workflow.
- Camera choice: which rear cameras and focal lengths support each mode. A mode available on the main camera may not be available on every lens.
- On-location behavior: stabilization, autofocus, and exposure controls at the maximum frame rate, plus clip limits, heat behavior, storage use, and firmware requirements.
- Buying context: exact model variant, local availability, and current price in your country.
For meaningful performance claims, compare footage recorded under equivalent conditions or consult independent tests that document those conditions. The specifications cited here do not establish sustained recording limits, heat behavior, file sizes, or independent X500 Pro results.

What the video specifications mean in practice
Choosing 4K 240 fps slow motion
High-frame-rate capture is useful when you want to slow a fast action down while retaining more spatial detail than a lower-resolution mode may offer. The X500 Pro’s listed 4K 240 fps mode is a specification, not a promise about every shooting scenario: check the selected camera, lighting, focus, stabilization, and clip-duration behavior in the phone’s actual interface before relying on it for a shoot.

Choosing 4K 120 fps Log
Log is most useful when you plan to grade footage and can manage the extra work of a post-production workflow. Before a project, confirm the available recording codec and color-conversion steps in your software, then test a short clip through the full workflow. vivo’s announced APV, ACES, and Resolve support describes its intended workflow, but does not substitute for checking compatibility with your specific software version and setup.

China launch and teleconverter context
vivo announced the X500 series in Shanghai on September 21, 2026, and said the X500 Pro would go on sale in China on September 29, starting at CNY 6,499. These details establish a China launch announcement, not global availability, current stock, or the price in another market. See vivo’s September 21, 2026 launch announcement.
The separately sold ZEISS Teleconverter G2 is a 200 mm-equivalent accessory that vivo says is compatible with the X500 series. IT Home reported a CNY 999 suggested price and limited China sales from September 24, 2026. It concerns telephoto framing; it is not required for either Log or slow-motion recording. The comparison question is also reflected in IT Home’s September 22, 2026 reader prompt, “支持 4K 120 帧拍摄的手机有哪些推荐?”—“Which phones that support 4K 120 fps recording are recommended?” A useful recommendation depends on more than the headline frame rate: the intended camera, grading workflow, and verified availability in the buyer’s market all matter.
