The vivo X300 is a compact, conventional phone built around a 6.31-inch display and a ZEISS-branded triple rear-camera system. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is a book-style foldable with a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8-inch inner display. The key choice is whether you want a smaller camera-focused handset or a foldable screen for work and media—not which phone has the bigger headline specification.

Screen size and portability
Choose the X300 for a single compact display
The X300’s 6.31-inch flat display keeps the phone narrow and lighter at 190g. Its listed dimensions are 150.57 × 71.92 × 7.95mm, making it the more compact option by its published measurements. The 2640 × 1216 AMOLED panel supports an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate. vivo advertises a 4500-nit local peak brightness; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independently verified everyday brightness result. vivo’s X300 specifications

Choose the Fold8 Ultra for a larger workspace
Folded, Samsung’s phone has a 6.5-inch cover display. Unfold it for an 8-inch inner screen, with more room for reading, multitasking and media. Both panels are listed with adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rates. At 215g, the Fold8 Ultra is 25g heavier than the X300, and its folded dimensions are 72.8 × 158.4 × 8.9mm. Those numbers describe different uses: the Fold8 Ultra gives you a much larger open display, while the X300 stays a conventional handset.

Camera hardware: compare the systems, not just megapixels
vivo X300
vivo describes a 200MP ZEISS main camera, a 50MP ZEISS telephoto camera and a 50MP ZEISS ultrawide. The front camera is listed at 50MP with autofocus. vivo also promotes 4K 60fps portrait video and offers a Telephoto Extender Kit as an optional imaging accessory; check local compatibility and availability before buying. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not comparative test results. vivo’s X300 overview
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra
Samsung highlights a 200MP main camera with HDR capability in 200MP mode and a new 50MP ultrawide camera. The cited launch materials do not provide a complete rear-camera array for comparison, so a telephoto specification should not be inferred from them. Samsung’s camera details and advertised capabilities do not establish that its photos outperform the X300’s.
A 200MP label alone does not show how well a camera handles motion, low light, skin tones or zoom. No controlled head-to-head camera testing is established here, so choose based on the hardware you need and consult independent sample testing if image quality is the deciding factor.
Performance, software and cooling
The X300 uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 and is listed with Android 16 and OriginOS 6 on vivo’s Global parameter page. The Fold8 Ultra uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. Samsung’s launch page also describes an expanded graphite cooling structure.
These platform names do not establish which phone is faster in everyday use or sustained workloads. No controlled performance test is available for this comparison, and a like-for-like software-support promise is not established by the cited specifications. Check the support terms for the exact model and region before purchase.
Battery capacity and charging
vivo lists a typical 6040mAh battery for overseas markets except Europe, with a 5360mAh version specified for Austria and Hungary. The X300 supports 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless FlashCharge. Samsung lists a 5,000mAh battery and 45W fast charging for the Fold8 Ultra.
Battery capacity and charging wattage are not measured runtime. They do not account for display size, usage, network conditions or software, so these specifications alone cannot establish which phone lasts longer on a charge. Confirm the battery version and charging accessories offered in your market.

For Samsung, use a local listing to confirm current price, taxes and stock. The official August 6, 2026 release said rollout began August 7 and would expand across 106 markets, with colors and options varying by market, carrier and retailer. That release does not guarantee availability in a particular location. Samsung’s rollout announcement
To calculate a meaningful difference, compare current prices in the same country, on the same date, for the same storage capacity and seller type, using the same tax basis. The available India vivo prices and US, UK and Australian Samsung launch prices do not meet those conditions. TechRadar also reports that Samsung’s 256GB Fold8 Ultra launch price was US$200, £200 or AU$300 above the standard Fold8 in the respective markets; that is a Samsung-to-Samsung comparison, not a price gap against the vivo X300. Which one fits your priorities?
- Pick the vivo X300 if you want a lighter conventional phone, a single flat display, and a specified telephoto camera alongside main and ultrawide cameras.
- Pick the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra if you will regularly use an 8-inch inner screen for tasks that benefit from a larger workspace and are comfortable carrying a heavier foldable.
- Compare local listings before deciding on value because the cited prices come from different markets, dates and price bases.
- Wait for independent testing if your decision depends on which phone takes better photos, runs faster, lasts longer or holds up better in daily use; the specifications alone do not settle those questions.
