Which phone has the better-sized display?
The X300 Ultra gives you a larger, higher-resolution screen: vivo lists 6.82 inches and 3168 × 1440 pixels, with adaptive refresh from 1 to 144 Hz. The iPhone 18 Pro has a 6.3-inch, 2622 × 1206 OLED display, with adaptive refresh up to 120 Hz. That makes the vivo the more expansive option on paper; the iPhone is easier to consider if a narrower, smaller handset matters more. Refresh-rate ranges alone do not establish which screen looks better in everyday use.
How do the camera systems differ?
vivo: high-resolution sensors and optional reach
vivo’s global specifications list a 200 MP + 50 MP + 200 MP + 5 MP rear array and a 50 MP front camera. The company also describes optional ZEISS telephoto extenders with 200 mm and 400 mm equivalent focal lengths, plus an Imaging Grip Kit with a built-in 2300 mAh battery. These are accessories, not standard inclusions with every phone purchase; the grip is sold separately, and vivo says advanced grip features require an OTA update. Apple: variable aperture on the main camera
Apple lists three 48 MP rear cameras: Fusion Main, Fusion Ultra Wide, and Fusion Telephoto, alongside an 18 MP front camera. Apple says the main camera can select ƒ/1.48, ƒ/1.8, ƒ/2.8, or ƒ/4.0 aperture settings, and describes this as useful for its low-light and depth-of-field scenarios. That is Apple’s product positioning, not a head-to-head result.
Sensor megapixels do not tell you which phone takes better photographs. No independent direct comparison is established here, so choose based on the camera features and accessories you would actually use rather than treating the larger megapixel totals as proof of better image quality.
Battery claims are not directly comparable
vivo lists a 6600 mAh typical battery capacity, with 6395 mAh rated capacity, and charging up to 100 W wired or 40 W wireless. vivo notes that charging power varies with use and that its specified 40 W wireless setup requires compatible equipment.

Apple instead reports video playback and charging outcomes: up to 36 hours of video playback for eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro models, and around 15 minutes to reach 50% charge with compatible charging equipment. Apple says its charging tests used July 2026 preproduction units with specified cables and adapters, and that results vary. These capacity and playback figures measure different things, so they cannot establish which phone lasts longer in ordinary use.
What is the price difference?
The official prices located are for different markets and configurations, so subtracting them would not produce a useful buyer-facing price difference:
- vivo X300 Ultra: China recommended prices start at ¥6,999 for 12 GB + 256 GB. Listed tiers rise to ¥7,499 for 12 GB + 512 GB, ¥7,999 for 16 GB + 512 GB, ¥8,999 for a 16 GB + 1 TB satellite edition, and ¥11,999 for a 16 GB + 1 TB Photographer Kit. - iPhone 18 Pro: Apple announced a US starting price of $1,199. The announcement does not make this a like-for-like comparison with vivo’s China entry price. Apple’s announcement.
For a meaningful comparison, check official prices in your country for the same storage tier, then account for tax, local warranty, promotions, and whether camera accessories are included. Prices and stock can change.

Software, durability, and regional details
vivo’s global page lists Android 16 with OriginOS 6, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Wi-Fi 6/7, Bluetooth 6.0, USB 3.2, and IP68/IP69 protection. Apple’s launch materials list the A20 Pro chip, a next-generation vapor chamber, and iOS 27. These platform details favor different ecosystems rather than establishing a universal performance winner.

IP ratings and stated test conditions are not a reason to expose either phone deliberately to water.
Before buying the vivo, check the exact regional model, supported network bands, carrier/eSIM support, warranty, and included accessories. Its global, China, and India offerings differ in configuration and presentation. Apple also notes regional rollout limits for some Siri AI features in the EU at launch and Apple Reference Image capture in the EU and China; verify availability for your location rather than assuming every announced feature is active everywhere.
Which should you choose?
- Consider the vivo X300 Ultra if you want a substantially larger display, prioritize the listed high-resolution camera hardware, or expect to use its optional telephoto extenders and grip. Confirm that the desired regional model and accessories are available where you live.
- Consider the iPhone 18 Pro if you prefer a smaller phone, already rely on iOS, or value Apple’s specified camera design and platform features. Its US starting price should not be assumed to apply in other countries.
- Hold off on a price verdict until you have local, same-storage-tier prices and know what accessories and warranty coverage are included.
No independent head-to-head camera, battery, or performance test is established here, so neither is a proven overall winner. The practical choice is the one whose size, platform, camera approach, and local purchase terms fit you.
