The vivo X500 Pro is the newer model, but it is not an across-the-board upgrade on the listed specifications. At the matching 12 GB + 256 GB China configuration, it costs CNY 6,499 versus CNY 5,599 for the X300 Pro—a CNY 900 difference. The X300 Pro offers a larger, higher-resolution screen; the X500 Pro is smaller and lighter, lists a higher maximum refresh rate and uses a newer chipset. Both list a 6510 mAh typical battery. These specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos, lasts longer, or performs faster in real use.
Price difference and release timing
The prices below are vivo China-listed prices, not a guaranteed street-price comparison in other markets. At the entry listed configuration—12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage—the X500 Pro costs CNY 900 more than the X300 Pro. That difference is calculated from the prices on vivo’s official X300 Pro and X500 Pro specification pages, reviewed October 4, 2026.

The X300 Pro China specification page lists October 2025. vivo announced the X500 series on September 21, 2026, and said X500 Pro sales would start on September 29, 2026; its specification page lists September 2026. The X300 Pro page also lists satellite-edition options; the cited material does not give a directly comparable satellite configuration for the X500 Pro. Compare identical RAM and storage tiers before treating a price gap as a model premium.

Which display and size make more sense?
The X300 Pro is the choice on these specifications if you want a larger screen: its listed display measures 6.78 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 2800 × 1260. The X500 Pro’s 6.36-inch, 2660 × 1216 display is physically smaller, but its listed refresh-rate range reaches 144 Hz rather than 120 Hz. A higher refresh ceiling is a specification, not proof of better image quality or a benefit in every app.
The X500 Pro is also shorter and narrower on the listed dimensions. Its weight depends on color: vivo lists 192 g and 7.95 mm thickness for 摄夜, and 197 g and 8.12 mm for other listed colors. The X300 Pro is listed at 226 g and 7.99 mm thick. Those measurements favor the X500 Pro if a lighter, more compact body matters more than screen size.

Chipset, battery and charging
vivo lists a Dimensity 9500 built on a 3 nm process for the X300 Pro and a Dimensity 9600 Pro on a 2 nm process for the X500 Pro. That makes the X500 Pro the newer listed platform, but the model names and process figures alone do not quantify real-world speed, heat, or efficiency. The official material cited here does not provide comparable independent performance tests.
Both China specification pages list a 6510 mAh typical battery, 90 W wired charging and 40 W wireless charging; the X500 Pro page qualifies wired charging as “up to” 90 W. Capacity figures do not predict runtime by themselves, and vivo says charging power varies by conditions. No head-to-head battery-runtime measurements are established by these specifications.

The listed rear-camera arrays differ most in the telephoto specification: the X300 Pro lists a 200 MP telephoto camera, while the X500 Pro lists a 64 MP APO telephoto with 3.5× optical zoom and up to 100× digital zoom. Both list 50 MP main and 50 MP ultra-wide cameras. Megapixel counts, optical zoom ratios and digital zoom limits describe hardware or modes; they do not establish which phone produces better photographs.

vivo’s X500 launch material promotes creator-oriented video capabilities and frames the phone as a tool for creators. That is the manufacturer’s stated product ambition, not independent validation of image or video output. No independent side-by-side camera tests are established in the cited official material.
Software and regional differences
Software listings vary across the available product material: vivo’s global X300 Pro page lists Android 16 and OriginOS 6, while the X500 series launch material says OriginOS 7. Those statements should not be read as proof that every regional phone ships with the same software version. Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the X300 Pro based on these listed specifications if you prefer a larger, higher-resolution display and want the lower entry-tier China MSRP.
- Consider the X500 Pro if you want a smaller, lighter body, a higher listed refresh-rate ceiling, the newer listed chipset generation, or its specified 3.5× optical telephoto zoom.
- Do not choose a camera, battery-runtime or performance winner from these figures alone. The cited material supplies manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent comparative measurements.
