Choose the vivo X300 Pro if camera performance is your first priority. Its 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto, 50MP Sony LYT-828 main camera, autofocus ultrawide and autofocus selfie camera make it the more photography-specialized phone, especially for distant subjects, portraits and low-light shooting. Choose the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra if you value Samsung’s broader ecosystem, S Pen workflows, wireless charging and a longer-established software-support track record.

The right choice also depends on your country. Battery capacity, charger-in-the-box, warranty coverage, storage options and street prices vary by market, so confirm the exact regional model before paying.

Neither phone wins every category. The Vivo is a camera specialist with unusually ambitious telephoto hardware; the Galaxy is the safer all-purpose flagship for people who prioritize ecosystem continuity, convenience features and Samsung’s support history.

Camera hardware: two different philosophies

vivo X300 Pro

The X300 Pro’s imaging system is built around a 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto with a 1/1.4-inch sensor. That is the component that most clearly separates it from conventional flagship phones: it gives the phone a large, high-resolution capture surface at a focal length intended for distant subjects, portraits and compressed-perspective shots. The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYT-828, while the ultrawide is a 50MP unit with autofocus. The 50MP selfie camera also has autofocus, which helps when framing close-up portraits, group shots or subjects at varying distances.

Vivo supports portrait focal lengths from 24mm through 135mm. In practice, that range lets you move from environmental portraits to tighter head-and-shoulders framing without relying on a single digitally cropped view. The telephoto extender accessory is another enthusiast-oriented option: it is a meaningful differentiator for photographers who routinely shoot distant details and are willing to carry extra hardware.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung takes a more familiar multi-camera approach: a 200MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP 3x telephoto and 50MP 5x telephoto. Having two dedicated telephoto modules gives the Galaxy useful native perspectives at medium and longer distances, while the high-resolution main sensor handles everyday scenes and crops.

The Galaxy’s 3x and 5x cameras can be easier to use consistently because each has a defined optical range. The Vivo’s advantage is different: its single, much larger 200MP APO telephoto is optimized as the star camera, with enough resolution and sensor area to support longer digital zoom while retaining detail.

Zoom and portraits: where the Vivo pulls ahead

For wildlife, stage performances, sports from the stands and candid portraits across a street, the X300 Pro is the more compelling choice. Android Central’s review reported detailed 10x images and usable 30x images. Those observations are from a reviewer’s sample and shooting conditions, not a laboratory benchmark, but they match the hardware rationale: a large telephoto sensor gives the image processor more real information before any crop or upscale is applied.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra remains versatile. Its 5x telephoto is a natural fit for distant people and architecture, and the 3x module is useful for portraits that would look too compressed or too tight at 5x. Samsung’s 200MP main camera can also produce high-resolution crops in good light. However, if your buying decision is primarily about extracting detail from a faraway subject, the Vivo’s telephoto is the stronger starting point.

Portrait choice

Choose the Vivo when you want multiple portrait perspectives and intend to use the telephoto regularly. Its 24mm-to-135mm portrait range covers both environmental and compressed portraits, and the autofocus front camera is useful for close framing and group compositions. Choose the Galaxy when you prefer Samsung’s familiar portrait processing and want separate 3x and 5x optical options rather than one telephoto that does most of the long-range work.

Night photography and difficult light

The X300 Pro is the better bet for photographers who often shoot after sunset. Android Central described it as particularly strong in low light and called the telephoto “fantastic this year.” These are editorial observations rather than controlled measurements, so results will still depend on movement, subject contrast, firmware and how aggressively you push the zoom.

The practical benefit is greatest when a night scene is not static: a person under street lighting, a performer on a dim stage or a distant building against a bright sign. A larger telephoto sensor can preserve more texture before noise reduction and sharpening are applied. The Galaxy’s main camera remains a capable general-purpose night camera, but the Vivo is the more specialized choice when you want to use telephoto after dark.

Video capabilities

Android Central reports that the X300 Pro can record 4K video at 120 frames per second with Dolby Vision. That combination is valuable for slow-motion work and for creators who want a high-frame-rate source that can be conformed to a 30fps timeline. Storage use will be substantial, and playback or editing support varies by application, so check your workflow before selecting the highest-quality mode.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is a strong general video phone, but the supplied specifications do not establish an equivalent 4K120 Dolby Vision feature for it. If that mode is a deciding requirement, the Vivo has the documented advantage; otherwise, compare stabilization, microphone behavior and app compatibility in your local retail demo.

Display, design and everyday handling

Specification vivo X300 Pro Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
Display size 6.78 inches 6.8 inches
Panel and refresh rate LTPO AMOLED, 120Hz AMOLED; refresh-rate detail not stated in the supplied specifications
Resolution 2,800 × 1,260 Not stated in the supplied regional specification
RAM Not stated in the supplied specifications 12GB
Ingress protection IP68 and IP69 listed by Vivo IP68 listed by Samsung

The two screens are nearly the same size, so neither phone is a compact option. The Vivo’s LTPO AMOLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate are useful for smooth scrolling and more efficient variable refresh behavior. Samsung’s display is similarly suited to flagship media use, but the cited regional page does not provide every panel specification needed for a line-by-line comparison.

Vivo lists both IP68 and IP69 protection, while Samsung lists IP68. Ratings describe test conditions, not immunity from every kind of water or impact damage; keep ports dry and follow the warranty terms for liquid exposure.

Battery life and charging: capacity is not the whole story

Phone and market evidence Battery figure Charging and convenience
vivo X300 Pro, India/Asia product specification 6,510mAh 90W FlashCharge; the system supports 50W USB-PD.
vivo X300 Pro, Austrian model tested by Android Central 5,440mAh Reviewer found a full day realistic, but not two days.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Philippines regional specification 5,000mAh Wireless charging listed.

The Vivo’s headline battery is substantially larger in the India/Asia specification, and its 90W charging is attractive if you regularly top up between shoots. Do not assume every X300 Pro has that capacity: Android Central tested an Austrian version with 5,440mAh and found it lasted a day but not two days. Regional hardware is therefore a purchase check, not a footnote.

The 90W system is not identical to every charger’s output. Vivo’s documentation says it supports 50W USB-PD, and some European packages omit a charger. If you import the phone or buy it in Europe, confirm whether a compatible charger is included and whether your existing USB-C power adapter can reach the advertised speeds.

Samsung gives you a smaller 5,000mAh battery in the cited Philippines specification but adds wireless charging. That can be more convenient on a desk, in a car or beside a bedside stand, while the Vivo favors rapid wired refills. Actual endurance will vary with display brightness, camera use, mobile signal, gaming and regional modem configuration.

Software, updates and ecosystem trade-offs

Vivo’s software position

The X300 Pro runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. Android Central reports that Vivo guarantees four Android OS-update years and describes that as trailing Samsung and Google. The exact end date depends on the phone’s sale region and the date support begins, so verify the local policy and security-update terms before purchase.

Samsung’s support and services

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the safer choice for buyers who already use Samsung phones, tablets, watches, earbuds or account services. The S Pen adds handwriting, annotation and remote-control workflows that the Vivo does not replicate. Samsung’s longer-established support track record is also a reason to choose it, although you should check the current promise for your country rather than relying on a policy from another region or an earlier model.

Samsung’s cited regional page confirms eSIM and wireless charging. Those features can matter more than benchmark differences if you travel, use dual lines or already own a Qi charging setup. Vivo’s stronger camera hardware does not remove the friction of changing ecosystems, migrating notes and replacing accessories.

Price and regional availability

Listing Price How to interpret it
vivo X300 Pro, India comparison snapshot ₹119,999 Smartprix listing in 2026; market snapshot, not a universal or permanent price.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, India comparison snapshot ₹94,999 Smartprix listing in 2026; market snapshot, not a universal or permanent price.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Philippines regional listing ₱84,990 starting price Current regional starting price cited by Samsung; storage tier and promotions can change the amount.

The cited India snapshot places the Vivo at a significant premium, while Samsung’s Philippines listing demonstrates why prices cannot be converted into a single global ranking. Taxes, storage, launch timing, trade-in offers and retailer discounts all change the calculation. Compare like-for-like storage tiers and include the cost of a compatible charger, case and any Vivo telephoto extender you plan to use.

Which phone should each type of buyer choose?

Choose the vivo X300 Pro if:

  • You choose a phone primarily for still photography.
  • You regularly shoot wildlife, concerts, sports, travel details or portraits from a distance.
  • You want a dedicated 200MP APO telephoto and are interested in the telephoto extender accessory.
  • Low-light telephoto performance matters more than ecosystem continuity.
  • You prefer a larger battery and rapid 90W wired charging, and your local model actually includes the 6,510mAh battery.
  • You want documented 4K120 Dolby Vision capture for a high-frame-rate video workflow.

Choose the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra if:

  • You already use Samsung services, accessories or an S Pen-based workflow.
  • Wireless charging, eSIM and broad accessory support are daily conveniences rather than optional extras.
  • You prefer separate 3x and 5x telephoto cameras for predictable native perspectives.
  • You place a high value on Samsung’s longer support track record and are willing to verify the current regional policy.
  • The Galaxy is substantially cheaper in your market, as in the cited India comparison snapshot.

Checks to complete before ordering

  1. Confirm the exact country model. Check battery capacity, network bands, SIM and eSIM support, storage tier and the warranty provider for your region.
  2. Verify what is in the box. Some European Vivo packages omit a charger; confirm whether the adapter and cable support the charging speed you expect.
  3. Check the local software policy. Read the update and security-support terms for your market, not a different country’s product page.
  4. Compare total cost. Add a case, charger, storage upgrade and, for the Vivo, the optional telephoto extender if it is part of your plan.
  5. Test your key camera scenario. In a store or with a return window, try 3x, 5x, 10x and night shots, then inspect moving subjects and skin tones at full resolution.
  6. Confirm app compatibility. If you intend to edit Dolby Vision or 4K120 footage, make sure your preferred editor, cloud backup and display can handle those files.

Final verdict

The vivo X300 Pro is the better camera phone for most photography-first buyers. Its large 200MP ZEISS APO telephoto, autofocus coverage across the ultrawide and selfie cameras, portrait focal-length range, strong low-light observations and documented 4K120 Dolby Vision mode give it a specialist edge that the Galaxy does not fully match.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is the more conservative purchase. It combines a 200MP main camera with 3x and 5x telephotos, wireless charging, eSIM, S Pen workflows and a mature ecosystem. Pick it when those conveniences and long-term platform continuity matter more than having the most ambitious telephoto hardware. Whichever you buy, validate the regional battery, charger, warranty and price before placing the order.
