Processor, RAM and storage
vivo identifies the X300 FE processor as Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and offers 8GB or 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage. Xiaomi describes the Redmi’s processor as octa-core 5G but does not name the chipset on its product page. 91mobiles identifies it as Unisoc T8300; treat that as a secondary-source identification, not an official Xiaomi specification. The Xiaomi store configuration compared here has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The listed specifications place the vivo in a higher hardware tier and give buyers more RAM and storage options. They do not substitute for controlled performance testing, and no hands-on head-to-head results are available here.
Rear and selfie cameras
The X300 FE’s listed rear system comprises a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS and an 8MP wide-angle camera. Its front camera is 50MP with autofocus. The dedicated telephoto lens gives the vivo a more varied set of listed camera hardware.
Xiaomi describes the Redmi rear setup as a 32MP dual AI camera. 91mobiles lists an 8MP front camera. Xiaomi’s product page does not provide further camera detail in its textual specifications. Megapixel counts and component lists do not establish actual image quality; there is no controlled camera comparison to report.

vivo lists IP68/IP69 protection, a weight of 191g and a thickness of 7.99mm for the X300 FE. Xiaomi lists IP52 protection for the Redmi A7 Pro 5G; 91mobiles gives its weight as 210g and thickness as 8.15mm. The Redmi’s dimensions and weight are secondary-source specifications, while its IP rating is from Xiaomi. The ratings indicate different stated levels of ingress protection, not immunity from all water or dust damage.
Which phone fits your priorities?
- Choose the vivo X300 FE if: you want a more compact phone, the listed Snapdragon processor, higher available RAM and storage configurations, a dedicated telephoto camera with OIS, or faster stated charging.
- Choose the Redmi A7 Pro 5G if: a much lower listed price and a larger 6.9-inch screen matter more, and the 4GB+64GB configuration meets your needs.
- Compare support deliberately: Xiaomi states four OS updates and six years of security patches; the reviewed vivo page does not state its update duration.
These phones occupy very different listed price tiers, and the ₹75,000 gap compares different memory and storage configurations. Make the choice against your budget, preferred screen size, camera needs, storage requirements and charging expectations rather than treating either as a universal winner.
