The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G answers with a larger 6.66-inch-class panel and the clearer long-term software promise, six OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The price gap cannot be stated as one number, because the official vivo price, a later vivo store price, and third-party listings all differ in date and configuration. This guide compares the published specifications, explains what those figures do and do not prove, and sets out how to read the prices.

Display and size: the main physical difference
The Galaxy M47 5G has the larger screen, while the X300 FE packs more pixels into a smaller panel. Its 2640×1216 resolution is higher than the Samsung’s 1080×2340 on paper, but pixel count alone does not decide how sharp a screen looks in use; panel quality, brightness, and calibration matter just as much. Both screens advertise refresh rates up to 120Hz, so smoothness claims are similar on the specifications. Choose the X300 FE if a more compact handset with a sharper panel suits your hand and pocket. Choose the M47 5G if you watch video, read, or play games on a bigger display and accept a less dense image.

Processor and performance
The vivo’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is the higher-tier chip of the two on the names the manufacturers and secondary sources provide. Samsung’s own specification page lists CPU clock speeds of 2.4GHz and 1.8GHz rather than a chipset name; the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 identification comes from 91mobiles, a secondary source. Clock speeds and chip names do not establish real-world speed, so avoid reading the gap as a guaranteed difference in apps or games.

The only user ratings, benchmark results, and battery-life figures found for the pair came from 91mobiles and covered the vivo. Samsung’s corresponding measurements were marked unavailable on that page. Those results are not a matched comparison and should not be treated as independent verification of either phone.
Cameras: more lenses on the vivo, a bigger sensor count on neither side
The vivo X300 FE offers a dedicated telephoto lens with optical image stabilisation, which the Samsung rear setup does not list. The Samsung’s 5MP and 2MP rear cameras are supplementary units; vivo’s 8MP wide-angle is fixed-focus. The vivo’s 50MP front camera is also higher resolution than Samsung’s 12MP selfie camera. Megapixel counts and lens counts describe hardware, not image quality. Judge the camera on sample photos from the same lighting conditions before deciding.

Optional telephoto accessory for the vivo X300 FE
vivo sells a ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 for the X300 FE, priced at ₹15,999 at launch. It is stated to provide a 200mm-equivalent focal length, is not part of the standard phone box, must be used with the accessories kit, and is compatible only with the X300 FE. It is worth considering only if long-range telephoto shots are a priority. It is not included in the phone’s price.
Battery and charging
The X300 FE has the higher published battery capacity (6500mAh typical versus 6000mAh typical) and faster wired charging (90W versus 45W). Both figures are manufacturer specifications. Neither establishes real-world endurance, and no matched battery-life test between the two phones was found. Note that the Samsung charger is sold separately, so budget for one if you do not already own a compatible 45W charger. vivo also announced 40W wireless charging at launch; the Samsung page reviewed does not list wireless charging.

Durability and software support
The vivo lists IP68 and IP69 ratings, which cover dust and water resistance under the standard test conditions for those codes. Samsung describes Gorilla Glass Victus+ and water and dust resistance without listing an IP code, so the two phones cannot be compared precisely on water protection from these pages.
Samsung makes the clearer software commitment in the pages reviewed: six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from first global launch, a policy the company says is subject to change. vivo’s pages state Android 16 with OriginOS 6 but do not state an equivalent support period. If long software life is a deciding factor, check vivo’s current update policy directly before buying.

Price difference: why there is no single number yet
Prices differ by date, source, and memory configuration. The table lists each price point with its source and date.

The launch price and the later store price show that vivo’s own figure changed within months, so the launch price should not be used as the current price. The aggregator figures would suggest a gap of about ₹59,000, but they are a single undated listing, the vivo variant and the Samsung variant are not stated, and they are not official prices. Do not quote that gap as the price difference. To compare fairly, match RAM and storage (the Samsung page reviewed is 8GB+256GB, while the vivo launch listings start at 12GB+256GB) and check live prices at checkout on the same day.
Which one fits your priorities
- Choose the vivo X300 FE if you want the higher-tier processor, the higher-resolution display, a telephoto camera, the larger battery, faster wired charging, and an IP68/IP69 rating, and you are comfortable with vivo’s update terms not being stated in the pages reviewed.
- Choose the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G if you want the larger display, a published six-year security commitment, expandable storage up to 2TB, and a lighter 206g body, and you can live with slower charging and a simpler camera setup.
- Check prices before deciding at the same RAM and storage level on the day you buy, because the price difference depends on that match.
Neither phone wins on every axis. The X300 FE leads on listed hardware and camera flexibility; the M47 5G leads on display size, published software support, and expandable storage. Those trade-offs, not the headline specification sheet, should decide the purchase.
