These two phones sit in different price classes, so the comparison is less “which is better” than “what does the extra money buy.” On paper, the vivo X300 FE is the compact, flagship-chip, triple-camera phone. The realme NARZO 90x 5G is the big-screen, big-battery budget phone. At the India prices listed below, the gap is roughly ₹65,500 to ₹70,500, depending on which vivo configuration you pick.
Everything below is based on manufacturer-listed specifications from vivo India and realme India. Those are not independent benchmark or battery-endurance results, and where a spec can’t settle a question (camera quality, runtime), the article says so.

- Against the 8GB+256GB vivo: ₹65,500 more.
- Against the 12GB+256GB vivo: ₹70,500 more.
Treat these as a rough scale, not an official price difference. The Narzo figure is a marketplace listing for an unspecified variant and seller, and neither source establishes launch prices for matching configurations. Check the live vivo store and your chosen retailer’s checkout page (including bank offers and exchange values) before deciding.
Display and size
The Narzo has the larger panel (6.8 inches) and the higher listed refresh ceiling (up to 144Hz). It is an LCD at 1570 × 720. The X300 FE uses a 6.31-inch AMOLED at 2640 × 1216, a much denser panel, with a 120Hz refresh rate. Refresh rates are listed maximums; not every app or game will run at them.
The vivo is also physically smaller: about 15mm shorter, 6mm narrower, 0.3mm thinner and 21g lighter by the manufacturers’ listed figures. If you want a phone that is easy to use one-handed, that favors the X300 FE. If you mostly watch video or read on a big screen and don’t care about sharpness, the Narzo’s size is the draw.

Performance hardware
The listed components are in different tiers. The X300 FE pairs Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 on a 3nm process with LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage. The Narzo uses a Dimensity 6300 with LPDDR4X memory and eMMC 5.1 storage, which are older and slower memory and storage standards. Expect the vivo to be considerably faster in demanding games, multitasking and app loading, but no head-to-head benchmark, frame-rate or thermal test backs a specific number here. For calls, messaging, UPI, browsing and video, the Narzo’s listed hardware is aimed at everyday use.
Cameras
The X300 FE has the more versatile setup: a 50MP main camera and a 50MP telephoto, both with optical stabilisation, plus an 8MP wide camera. The Narzo lists a single 50MP rear wide camera. That means optical zoom and ultrawide framing are only on the vivo’s side. The selfie cameras differ too: 50MP with autofocus on the vivo versus 8MP on the Narzo.

Megapixel counts and lens counts show capability, not image quality, and no comparative photo test is available for these two models. vivo also sells the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 separately for the X300 FE, which it describes as 200mm equivalent reach and introduces with the line “Bring the Stage Closer.” That is vivo’s own marketing claim, and the accessory is specific to vivo’s phone, not the Narzo.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Battery and charging
The Narzo lists the bigger battery (7000mAh typical versus 6500mAh), while the vivo lists faster wired charging (90W versus 60W) and wireless charging, which the Narzo doesn’t list. Neither capacity nor wattage tells you real runtime or charge time: the processors, screens and software differ, and vivo itself notes that actual charging varies with conditions and use. A more efficient chip and AMOLED panel can narrow the capacity gap, but that is unproven without testing.

Durability
vivo lists IP68 and IP69 for the X300 FE. These ratings reflect specified laboratory test conditions; they don’t make a phone damage-proof, and water damage is generally not covered by warranty. We found no ingress rating listed on realme’s specifications page for the Narzo, so don’t assume one.
Which should you choose?
- Choose the vivo X300 FE if you want a compact phone with an AMOLED screen, a telephoto camera, top-tier listed performance hardware, faster and wireless charging, and water resistance, and the ₹85,000-plus price is within budget.
- Choose the realme Narzo 90x 5G if you want a large screen, the biggest battery, and a price near ₹19,500 for calls, social media, streaming and light gaming, and you can live without a telephoto lens or AMOLED.
The honest framing is that these phones rarely compete for the same buyer. If your budget is closer to the Narzo’s, the X300 FE isn’t a realistic alternative; if you’re weighing it against other flagships, the Narzo isn’t either. Specifications here apply to Indian-market models; other regions may differ.
