The spec-sheet trade-off is clearer: Samsung lists a slightly smaller 8-inch main screen and a 5,000mAh typical battery; vivo lists an 8.02-inch screen and a 6,900mAh-equivalent battery with higher rated charging speeds. Those figures do not establish which phone lasts longer or takes better photos.

Which phone has the larger screen?
By diagonal, vivo lists the larger main display: 8.02 inches versus Samsung’s 8 inches. Samsung publishes the main panel’s 2504×2256 resolution, adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate and 3000-nit specification. The cited vivo European information gives its diagonal and ZEISS Master Color branding but does not state matching resolution, refresh-rate or brightness figures, so the numbers alone cannot establish which display looks better.
The listed cover-screen diagonals are also close: 6.51 inches for vivo in European product coverage and 6.5 inches for Samsung. Diagonal measurements do not tell you how wide a cover screen feels or how comfortable it is to use one-handed; that requires comparable device dimensions or direct use.

How do performance and configurations compare?
The European vivo listing names MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. Samsung lists Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and offers 12GB or 16GB RAM with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB storage. These are different chip and configuration choices, but the available specifications do not include comparable benchmark results, so they do not support a claim that one is faster.
For a fair price check, compare the same storage tier and the exact local model. The Spain Samsung listing cited below is for 256GB, whereas the European vivo product information lists 512GB; their headline prices therefore do not compare identical capacities.

Which has the bigger battery or faster charging?
vivo’s European product information lists a 6,900mAh-equivalent battery and ratings of up to 80W wired and 40W wireless charging. Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical battery, and its launch release states 45W fast charging. Capacity and charging ratings are specification claims, not standardized measurements of runtime or charging under identical conditions; the cited materials do not establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use.
Check the regional package before assuming a charger is included. The cited specifications do not establish the in-box charger and accessory situation for every market.

How do the camera systems differ?
Samsung specifies three rear cameras: a 200MP wide camera, 50MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto. vivo promotes a 200MP ZEISS main camera and ZEISS APO telephoto, and Spain coverage identifies a compatible ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 accessory. The listed hardware suggests different camera coverage and accessory options, but megapixel counts and lens labels are not image-quality tests. No comparable camera evaluation in the cited material establishes which phone takes better photos.
What is the price difference in Spain?
For Spain, Cinco Días / Smartlife reported on 1 October 2026 that vivo’s X Fold6 had a recommended price of €2,199 and a temporary launch price of €1,979. MediaMarkt’s Spain listing showed the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra with 256GB at €2,199. That makes the reported pre-promotion difference €0, while the vivo offer was €220 below that Samsung listing at the time cited. The sources differ in type, storage configuration and promotional status, so treat these as dated Spain references, not a matched or worldwide price comparison.

Are the China and European vivo models the same?
Do not assume so. vivo’s China launch announcement describes OriginOS 6 Fold and reports a China starting price of ¥7,999, with sales beginning 1 July 2026. Its European product page instead lists OriginOS 7 Fold and a 12GB/512GB configuration. The available material does not establish that every hardware, software, service or network detail is identical across regional versions.
- Confirm the exact regional model and storage configuration before buying, particularly for an imported handset.
- Check local warranty coverage, network-band support and access to the services you rely on with the seller or manufacturer for that SKU.
- Verify the software version and update commitments for the specific market; the cited materials do not provide a complete, comparable update-support promise for both phones.
What do the specifications say about durability?
vivo’s European page lists IP58, IP59, IPX8 and IPX9 ratings. The Samsung launch and comparison materials cited here do not provide the same rating in the extracted specifications, so a like-for-like durability verdict is not established. Ratings should be compared only with their test definitions and complete regional specifications in hand.
