For a current-generation comparison, an August 2026 report identifies the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra as a candidate; the available figures for it are secondary-source claims, not a verified regional Samsung specification sheet. The Vivo X Fold6 has more detailed region-specific specifications available, but that does not establish that it is the better phone. Choose only after checking the exact Samsung model, local stock and support, and the features that matter most to you.
Which Samsung Galaxy Z Fold is being compared?
The model name in the question is incomplete. Samsung’s official 2024 announcement covers the Galaxy Z Fold6, with a 7.6-inch main display and a 6.3-inch cover display. Those are Fold6 specifications, not specifications for a newer model.

An Android Central comparison dated August 3, 2026 identifies the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra as a current-generation comparison candidate. It reports an August 7 retail date and a US starting price of $2,099.99. Those figures come from a secondary report; check Samsung’s current page for your country before relying on them. This article uses that model as a provisional comparison, not as a definitive statement that it is the Samsung you intended.
How the reported specifications compare
The table separates Vivo’s China and Europe listings because their published configurations and details differ. Samsung figures below are attributed to Android Central’s August 3, 2026 comparison; they should not be treated as independently verified regional specifications.

Vivo’s China page lists a June 2026 launch date and a June 2026 release window. Its configuration prices are Chinese recommended prices, not international street prices. Vivo Europe’s software, battery, charging and ingress details are specifications listed for that region; they should not automatically be assumed to match every market.
What matters most when choosing
Price and whether you can actually buy it locally
Compare local prices for the same storage tier, including taxes and any introductory offer, rather than comparing a Chinese list price with a US or European price. The Spain figures reported for Vivo are a recommended price and a time-limited introductory price, not a promise of the current price elsewhere. Before choosing either phone, confirm local stock, the seller, warranty coverage and where repairs can be handled.

Folded comfort versus open-screen workspace
The reported Samsung screen diagonals suggest an 8-inch inner screen and a 6.5-inch outer screen, while Vivo’s available specification page gives body dimensions but not display diagonals. A diagonal alone cannot tell you which phone feels more usable: aspect ratio, hinge behavior, weight distribution and the width of the closed phone matter too. If possible, handle the exact regional models before buying; the available figures do not provide a controlled, directly comparable assessment of everyday comfort.

Cameras: hardware is not a photo-quality verdict
Vivo’s European listing describes a high-resolution main camera and two 50 MP secondary cameras. A Cinco Días report dated October 1, 2026 also says the X Fold6 supports the vivo ZEISS Gen 2 telephoto extender, which it describes as providing a 200 mm-equivalent optical focal length. That is a report about an accessory, not evidence that the phone takes better pictures. The available information does not establish comparable camera testing for the Vivo and Samsung models.

Battery capacity and charging do not establish endurance
The listed capacities and charging wattages describe specifications, not independently measured battery life or charging time. Actual runtime depends on use and conditions, and the cited material does not provide an equivalent head-to-head battery test. Treat the Vivo and Samsung capacity figures as reported or manufacturer-listed numbers, not a forecast of which lasts longer.

Updates, warranty and repairs may decide the purchase
The Vivo Europe page names OriginOS 7 Fold and Android 17, but the available material does not establish an update-duration commitment for either phone. It also does not establish equivalent warranty or repair coverage. Ask each manufacturer or authorized retailer what software-support period, warranty terms, parts availability and service locations apply in your country before placing a premium-priced foldable order.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Vivo X Fold6 if
- You have verified that the X Fold6 is officially available in your market and can obtain suitable local warranty and repair support.
- Its listed camera hardware, storage configurations, charging specifications or regional software setup fit your needs better than what is confirmed for the Samsung model you are considering.
- You specifically want to investigate the reported telephoto extender and have confirmed the accessory’s local availability and bundle contents.
Choose a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold if
- You have identified the exact generation and checked its current specifications, price and availability on Samsung’s page for your country.
- Samsung’s local warranty, repair access or software-support terms are a better fit for you than the terms available with the Vivo model.
- You have compared the exact devices in person or against reliable, comparable testing, rather than treating reported display sizes or battery capacities as a complete verdict.
There is no defensible universal winner from the available comparable evidence. The Vivo has more detailed region-specific specifications in the cited material, while key Samsung details and local support terms remain unverified there. If the intended Samsung is the Fold6 rather than the reported Fold 8 Ultra, compare against the Fold6 directly instead of using newer-generation figures.
