The Vivo V80 is a strong all-rounder on paper and a debatable one at its price. It pairs a 7200 mAh battery, a 144 Hz 1.5K AMOLED display and a 3× ZEISS telephoto camera with a mid-range Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, and it starts at ₹62,999 in India. The independent review we draw on, from 91mobiles (6 October 2026), scored it 8/10. It liked the design, display, camera versatility and battery, but called performance underwhelming for the money and low-light photos noisy. We have not tested the phone ourselves. This article separates vivo’s claims from that outside verdict.
Vivo V80 price in India
vivo’s launch announcement (6 October 2026) lists these prices, inclusive of tax:

vivo says sales start on 13 October 2026 through partner stores, its official website, Flipkart and Amazon.
The vivo store page, when checked on 7 October 2026, showed ₹62,999 for the selected 8GB+128GB option. It also showed a crossed-out MRP of ₹111,999. That MRP is a list price, not what you pay. Treat the launch prices above as the reference point, and compare any “discount” against them rather than against the MRP.

Launch offers
The announcement mentioned bank or UPI cashback alternatives, exchange bonuses, and up to 40% off a V-Shield screen-damage and extended-warranty plan. A six-month extended warranty plan was stated to start at ₹1,134. It also described Google One and JioHotstar offers, and said the JioHotstar one was not yet live at announcement. All of these are conditional and time-limited, so confirm the terms on the listing before you count on them.

vivo notes that 144 Hz works only in selected apps, and that specifications can vary by region, model, supply or production batch. The 5000-nit figure is local peak brightness, not what the whole screen sustains.
Camera: what vivo claims and what the review found
The hardware
vivo’s launch announcement lists a 50 MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor, OIS and 3× optical zoom. It also lists a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a ZEISS ultra-wide camera and a 50 MP autofocus selfie camera. Video goes up to 4K at 60 fps, with 4K Cinematic Video styles. vivo’s own summary: “The V80 puts a stronger focus on everyday content creation, combining 4K Cinematic Video, 4K 60fps recording, ZEISS telephoto imaging and AI-powered creative features.” ZEISS branding, “cinematic” styles and AI features are marketing descriptions, not measures of image quality.

What 91mobiles found
The review called the camera versatile but found low-light shots noisy or short on detail. Against the OPPO Reno 16, it judged the Reno stronger in low-light detail, dynamic range, skin tones and realism. The V80 had the edge in some daylight colour and contrast, ultra-wide shots and portrait detail. Those are that publication’s judgements under its own conditions. If you shoot mostly at night, this is the main caution. If you shoot portraits, group photos and daylight scenes, the review’s findings favour the V80.
Battery and charging
vivo gives a typical capacity of 7200 mAh and a rated capacity of 7015 mAh. Its claim that this is large for a V-Series phone is based on internal research covering V-Series phones launched in India as of 6 October 2026. The box includes a standard charger, and vivo says charging reaches up to 90W under specified conditions. Actual speed depends on usage and external factors.
The only independent endurance number is 18 hours 36 minutes in 91mobiles’ PCMark battery test, which runs the battery from 100% to 20%. That is a benchmark, not a promise of screen-on time. vivo’s own battery and charging figures come from laboratory conditions, and capacity alone does not predict runtime. A 144 Hz screen used heavily will drain faster than a lighter setting.

Performance: the weak point
91mobiles considered performance underwhelming for ₹62,999. Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is an upper-mid-range chip, and the review named the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R as alternatives for buyers who put speed first. Daily use, social apps and casual games are unlikely to be a problem. The concern is value: you pay a flagship-adjacent price for a chip from a lower tier.
Design, display and durability
91mobiles praised the design and display. IP68 and IP69 ratings, as listed by vivo, cover dust and water immersion plus high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. They do not cover drops or scratches, and water damage is typically excluded from standard warranties. That is where the optional V-Shield plan comes in.
Software updates
vivo’s press release promises six years of security updates. The product page explains that the six years are counted from the phone’s initial global launch, and that availability and duration vary by model and market. A phone sold in India some time after the global launch could therefore get fewer than six years in practice. Check the exact terms for your unit.

Headphones and the missing 3.5 mm jack
The V80 supports Bluetooth and digital USB-C wired earphones. It does not drive analog wired earphones directly. To use 3.5 mm earphones you need a USB-C adapter with a built-in DAC, sold separately, and vivo says compatibility may vary by model and protocol. Check that the specific adapter works with the phone before you buy one.
Who should buy the Vivo V80
- Good fit: you want a big battery, a bright high-refresh display, a 3× telephoto, strong portraits and a water-resistant body, and you care less about benchmark speed.
- Look elsewhere: you play demanding games, or you shoot a lot in low light. The OPPO Reno 16 did better in the reviewer’s low-light comparison, and the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R were pointed out as performance-focused options.
- Wait: if the price is the issue. Launch offers and later street prices will matter far more than the list price here.
When comparing, line the phones up on street price and storage, low-light consistency, chipset, battery and charging, refresh behaviour, update commitment and water protection, using current prices rather than launch ones.

Does the Vivo V80 have a 3.5 mm headphone jack?
No. Analog earphones need a USB-C adapter with a built-in DAC, sold separately. Bluetooth and digital USB-C earphones work directly.
Why does the vivo store show ₹111,999?
That is the displayed MRP on the store page checked on 7 October 2026. The selected 8GB+128GB option showed ₹62,999, matching the launch price.
