On paper, the vivo V70 and OPPO Reno15 are nearly the same phone. Both use a 6.59-inch AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a 6,500mAh battery, and a triple rear camera array. Both were reported at the same Indian starting price for the 8GB/256GB configuration. The useful differences are the ones you can check yourself: the live price of the exact variant you want, the telephoto zoom and charging figures each maker publishes, and the update promises that come with each phone. Neither phone has been tested side by side in a published, matched review, so the comparison below sticks to specifications, reported prices, and manufacturer claims.
Launch prices, and why today’s price may be different
The launch-era figures come from a 91mobiles comparison published on 19 February 2026. The table below reflects those reported prices for India. They are not a live price check.

Current prices have moved away from these figures. A check of the vivo India online shop V70 listing on 7 October 2026 showed an offer price of ₹64,999. That number is well above the February launch-era prices, and the listing’s variant, offer terms, and seller should be confirmed before you compare. A current Reno15 price was not established in the sources used for this article.
Before comparing, confirm three things for the same storage tier:

- The exact RAM and storage configuration, since the two phones are not offered in identical tiers.
- The seller and whether the price is an offer price, a bank-linked discount, or a standard retail price.
- Warranty and what is included in the box. The vivo India listing says the box contains a case, cable, charger, eject tool, applied protective film, and warranty card. Reno15 box contents were not confirmed in these sources, so do not assume the same accessories.

Cameras: what the zoom figures do and do not tell you
The clearest spec-level difference is the telephoto lens. vivo presents its telephoto as a ZEISS-branded 3x optical zoom, while 91mobiles reports the Reno15’s telephoto at 3.5x. A higher optical zoom figure means a longer effective reach at that lens, so the Reno15 has the longer listed reach. It does not show which phone produces better portraits, cleaner detail, or stronger low-light results.

Battery and charging
The two phones are listed with the same battery capacity, and the V70’s 6,500mAh figure is a typical value. The V70 has the higher advertised charging wattage. Both rated figures describe maximum charging power, not how long a full charge takes. Actual time to full depends on the charger and cable you use, the battery’s temperature, and the phone’s charging curve.

Because the chipset and battery capacity are listed as the same, there is no published basis for claiming a meaningful difference in everyday battery life. A real endurance difference would need a matched test under the same settings, which was not established for these phones.
Display and brightness
Both phones use a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, so the size and smoothness will feel similar. The peak brightness figures are the exception. 91mobiles reports 5,000 nits for the V70 and 1,200 nits for the Reno15, but the official pages do not publish comparable figures under the same definition. Peak brightness is often measured for a small highlight area or under specific conditions, which can make two numbers look very different even when real-world outdoor visibility is closer. Until both figures are measured the same way, treat the gap as unconfirmed.

Build and durability claims
91mobiles describes both phones with flat screens and metal frames. The camera island and back design are the main visual differences it highlights. OPPO’s launch release introduces the Reno15 series with a HoloFusion design language. The series ingress-protection rating is IP66, IP68, and IP69, and vivo’s India product page lists the V70 at IP68 and IP69.
These ratings describe performance under standardised test conditions. They do not make either phone damage-proof. Water and dust resistance can decline with drops, cracks in the glass or seals, and time. Drop protection is not covered by an ingress rating, so a case and screen protector remain practical choices for both phones.

Software and update promises
The V70 ships with OriginOS 6, and the Reno15 ships with Android 16 and ColorOS 16. 91mobiles reports that the Reno15 has one more OS upgrade promise than the V70, while both carry six years of security updates. For a phone you plan to keep for four years or more, that one-version difference matters. Before you rely on it, confirm the regional terms with vivo India or OPPO India, since update promises are set by each maker and can change.
Which one to choose
Because the specifications are so close, the decision usually turns on price and a few specific priorities.
- Choose the vivo V70 if you want the higher advertised charging wattage, the ZEISS co-engineering branding, and the IP68/IP69 rating from vivo’s own listing, and the V70 is cheaper for the storage tier you want.
- Choose the OPPO Reno15 if a longer telephoto reach is important to you, if you want the reported extra OS upgrade, or if you need 512GB storage, which the V70 does not have reported in these sources.
- Choose whichever is cheaper for the same RAM and storage from a reputable seller, if neither of the priorities above applies. The spec sheets give you no strong reason to pay more for one over the other.
How to read these figures
The price figures are from 91mobiles’ comparison dated 19 February 2026, and the phones’ specifications are attributed either to vivo India’s product and shop pages or to OPPO’s India launch release, dated 8 January 2026. The 91mobiles article said its assessment of the V70 was preliminary because it had not reviewed that phone. Every performance, camera, and battery statement here is therefore a specification or a claim, not a result from testing. OPPO’s launch release also cites more than 100 million OPPO users in India, a figure from the company itself rather than an independently verified count.
For the most accurate choice, check the current price of the exact variant on the vivo India shop and OPPO’s India channels, and compare sample photos before you decide.
