It sits above that model in price and performance, most clearly through its Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor versus the V70’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Vivo has not publicly explained a specific corporate reason for creating the Elite tier; the clearest answer is that it adds a higher-positioned option to the V70 lineup.
Why does Vivo have an “Elite” V70?
Vivo introduced the V70 Elite and V70 together in India, describing them as the most evolved V-series smartphones yet. The company presents the Elite as the higher-positioned model, emphasizing performance alongside imaging, design and AI features. Its announcement does not say that the phone was created to fill a particular gap between the V and X series or to replace an older Pro model. Vivo’s launch announcement is a product pitch, not a statement of internal strategy.

A February 2026 91mobiles explainer interpreted the first V-series “Elite” name as part of wider portfolio restructuring and suggested the model could occupy a price-and-feature gap. That is analysis, not a reason confirmed by Vivo. For buyers, the practical meaning is simpler: the Elite is an additional, more expensive V70 configuration with a higher-tier processor.
What does the Elite add over the standard V70?
Performance and storage
The headline distinction is the chipset: Vivo specifies a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in the Elite and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the standard V70. Vivo also lists LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage and a 4200 mm² vapor chamber for the Elite. These are manufacturer-reported specifications; they do not establish how much faster the phone is in a particular app or game, and no independent benchmark comparison is cited here.

Camera hardware and zoom
Vivo says the Elite’s camera system was co-engineered with ZEISS. Its product page lists a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera, a 50MP OIS main camera and a 50MP front camera. The launch release describes 4K/60fps recording with Zoom Clarity and up to 10x zoom for the telephoto feature set, while the product page specifies 3x optical zoom and up to 100x zoom.
Those zoom figures describe different things. The 3x figure is optical zoom; the larger maximum figures refer to higher-magnification zoom modes, not the same optical reach. Treat the stated maximums as feature specifications rather than a guarantee of comparable detail at every magnification. Vivo’s product page and its launch release describe the camera features.

- The ultra-strong magnetic design, combined with powerful magnetic rings, ensures a secure hold that will never come loose. It is fully compatible with accessories such as MagSafe wireless chargers, magnetic car mounts and magnetic power banks, ensuring precise alignment during wireless charging.
- Skin-like matte black finish, fingerprint-resistant and yellowing-resistant: semi-transparent matte black PC back panel + smooth TPU frame, with a nano-level skin-like coating that feels silky smooth and non-sticky to the touch. Effectively repels fingerprints and grease, resists yellowing over time, and preserves the phone’s original texture.
- Slim and lightweight, yet offering all-round protection: with an ultra-slim 1.5mm design, it adds no bulk or weight; corner airbag cushioning combined with a 1.5mm raised bezel around the screen and camera lens provides protection against drops, scratches and knocks, giving you peace of mind against everyday accidents.
- Precise cut-outs, just like the real thing: moulded to match the actual device, with buttons, cameras and charging ports perfectly aligned; the buttons offer crisp, responsive feedback; the full-coverage design doesn’t interfere with the screen, ensuring a comfortable grip and replicating the feel of using the device without a case.
- High-quality materials, durable and easy to clean: Made from eco-friendly PC+TPU composite material, it is flexible, resistant to deformation and wear-resistant; the surface is water- and oil-repellent, so stains wipe away easily, keeping it looking as good as new even after prolonged use.
Display, construction and durability
The Elite has a 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, according to Vivo. The company also describes an aerospace-grade aluminium frame. Vivo claims a 0.125 cm bezel, based on its internal research as of February 4, 2026, among phones launched below the ₹50,000 price segment. That comparison category is below the Elite’s own starting launch price, so the bezel claim should not be read as a direct ranking against phones in its price bracket.
Vivo lists IP68 and IP69 ratings under IEC 60529-2013 test conditions. The company cautions that resistance is not permanent and can decline with normal use. These ratings are not a promise that the phone is waterproof or suitable for deliberate immersion.

Battery, charging and software
Vivo specifies a 6500mAh typical battery capacity and a 6320mAh rated capacity, with support for up to 90W FlashCharge. These are capacity and charging specifications, not measured battery-life or charging-time results; actual charging power can vary. Vivo also advertises OriginOS 6, up to four generations of OS updates and six years of security patches. That is a stated support commitment, not a claim that every update has already been released.
AI features
Vivo’s launch materials promote AI Holi Portrait and other image-creation features. The product page gives AI Holi Portrait a limited availability window ending March 15, 2026, so that launch feature should not be assumed to remain available now.

Which V70 makes more sense?
The Elite is the clearer fit if you want the higher-tier Snapdragon processor and its listed memory, storage and cooling specifications. The standard V70 has the lower-tier Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, while the supplied launch details do not establish a full like-for-like price comparison for every standard V70 configuration.
Many of the V70 family’s headline themes are not exclusive to the Elite: both are framed around ZEISS imaging, a high-resolution OLED display, a large battery and OriginOS. The Elite’s case therefore rests most concretely on its processor tier and its position in the lineup, rather than on every premium-sounding feature being unique to it.
For the India package, Vivo’s store listing includes the phone, charger, USB cable, eject tool, phone case, pre-applied protective film and warranty card. Buyers may still want different accessories, but an extra basic case or screen protector is not an automatic necessity.
