The vivo V50e is a good fit for buyers who value portrait and selfie features, a slim design, a bright 120Hz AMOLED display and fast charging more than top-tier gaming performance. Its 50MP main camera is the stronger rear shooter; the 8MP ultra-wide is less convincing, particularly in low light. That makes the V50e a considered choice, not an automatic upgrade for everyone.
What the vivo V50e offers
The India-market vivo V50e is a 5G phone with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, 8GB of RAM and a choice of 128GB or 256GB storage. vivo specifies LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage; the storage is not expandable. It runs Funtouch OS 15. The headline appeal is a combination of portrait-oriented cameras, a large curved display, water- and dust-resistance ratings, and a high-capacity battery.

Design and display
The 6.77-inch AMOLED display has a resolution of 2392 × 1080 and supports refresh rates up to 120Hz. vivo lists a local peak brightness of 1800 nits; that figure is a manufacturer specification, not a promise that the whole screen will sustain that brightness in every setting. The large, curved panel and slim, lightweight design are among the phone’s clearest strengths. Both India Today and 91mobiles praised its display and build in their reviews.
#1 Best Overall
- Precise Cutouts – This HULLIN phone case is specially designed for vivo V50 5G / vivo V50e, molded from the real device for a perfect fit. Please carefully check your phone model before purchase, especially network compatibility and dimensions.
- Armor Shell – Made of durable PC + TPU, hard on the outside and soft on the inside, combined with shockproof airbag corners for excellent drop protection, keeping your phone safe at all times.
- Comfortable Grip – Ergonomic design makes it easier to hold your phone securely, whether horizontal or vertical. Lightweight and slim, no more worrying about accidental slips.
- Enhanced Heat Dissipation – The hollow vent design on the back improves cooling, helping your phone perform at its best and extending battery life.
- Magnetic Ring – The built-in magnetic ring allows precise attachment to magnetic chargers and mounts, stable and secure without falling off, while supporting wireless charging. (Note: The case itself is not magnetic. It requires magnetic accessories for adsorption.)
A curved screen may look sleek, but it is a matter of preference: buyers who favour flat displays should handle the phone before choosing it. The 120Hz maximum refresh rate can make scrolling feel smoother, though it does not by itself make apps or demanding games run faster.
Camera: portraits first, ultra-wide second
The rear setup pairs a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an 8MP wide-angle camera. The front camera is 50MP. vivo also promotes portrait focal-length modes, Eye AF for group selfies, Aura Light and 4K recording on both front and rear cameras. Those feature names and megapixel counts come from vivo; they do not guarantee image quality on their own.

Main and portrait camera
91mobiles found that the main camera could produce natural-looking colours rather than heavily exaggerated ones. The portrait and selfie features suit buyers who take people-focused photos and want options for framing. OIS can help steady the main camera, but it cannot guarantee sharp results in every low-light or moving-subject situation.

1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteUltra-wide and low light
The 8MP ultra-wide is the more noticeable compromise. 91mobiles reported noise in darker areas and less detail from ultra-wide shots; it also found that low-light main-camera photos could lack detail. If wide landscape photos or dependable night shots are a priority, weigh those limitations more heavily than the 50MP headline figures.

Performance and software
The Dimensity 7300 is suited to ordinary use such as browsing, streaming and social apps. 91mobiles described day-to-day performance as adequate, but said the phone lacks the performance punch expected by power users; demanding games are a less persuasive reason to buy it. Choose the V50e for its overall feature mix, not on the assumption that its portrait branding means flagship-level processing power.
India Today rated the phone 7.5/10 in its April 10, 2025 review, praising the display, camera and sleek build while listing spam notifications from vivo apps as a con. That is one reviewer’s experience, not proof that every owner will receive the same notifications. vivo’s April 2025 launch announcement promised three generations of Android upgrades and up to four years of software and security updates. This is the manufacturer’s stated commitment, not an independent assessment of update delivery.

Battery life and charging
vivo lists the battery as 5600mAh typical capacity and 5490mAh rated capacity, with 90W wired charging. Wireless charging is not supported. The official store lists a charger, case and pre-applied protective film in the box; check the exact listing and box contents for the variant you buy.

In 91mobiles’ review-unit tests, the V50e lasted 15 hours and 8 minutes in PCMark’s battery test. The publication also measured 42 minutes to charge from 20% to 100% using the included charger. These are specific test results, not guarantees of everyday screen time or charging time: usage, settings and conditions affect both.

Water and dust protection
vivo lists IP68 and IP69 ratings. Its launch announcement says the phone can survive immersion in fresh water deeper than 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes. That is a manufacturer claim tied to stated conditions, not permission to use the phone underwater or expose it casually to water. Resistance can be affected by wear or damage, so treat the ratings as protection against specified exposure rather than a reason to take risks.
India price and availability
Price depends on date, variant and seller. vivo announced an India launch starting price of INR 28,999 in April 2025; that is a historical launch price, not a current offer. When checked in 2026, vivo’s official store showed an MRP of INR 35,999 for the 8GB+256GB Pearl White variant and marked that selection unavailable. Neither figure establishes today’s street price or the price of the 128GB version. Check the exact storage variant, seller, stock and current price before buying. The official vivo store listing identifies the 256GB selection.

Who should buy the vivo V50e?
It makes sense if you want
- A slim phone with a large, vivid, high-refresh AMOLED screen.
- Portrait and selfie features, with a capable main camera for everyday photos.
- A large battery, fast wired charging and manufacturer-listed water- and dust-resistance ratings.
Look elsewhere if you need
- More performance headroom for demanding games or sustained heavy workloads.
- Consistently detailed ultra-wide and low-light photography.
- Wireless charging or a microSD card slot.
Verdict
The vivo V50e is more than a cosmetic refresh for the right buyer: its display, slim build, portrait-focused camera features, battery and fast charging form a coherent package. But its 8MP ultra-wide camera and middling performance headroom limit its appeal outside that use case. At the price you can actually buy it for, compare phones with the same storage tier and give particular weight to gaming performance and secondary-camera quality. 91mobiles also rated it 7.5/10, while India Today’s review awarded 7.5/10; those are publication-specific judgments rather than universal measures of value.
