The V50 has a larger display, while the V80 lists a sharper, faster-refreshing screen, a newer Snapdragon processor, a larger stated battery and a ZEISS telephoto camera. Those are specification differences, not independent evidence that the V80 takes better photos or lasts longer.

How much more does the vivo V80 cost?
At India launch, the V80 costs ₹28,000 more than the V50 when comparing the matching 8GB+128GB configurations. The launch prices below are not current street-price quotes.

Prices are from vivo India’s V50 launch release and V80 launch release. Retail discounts, bank or UPI offers, exchange bonuses and EMI terms can change the amount a buyer pays. The V80 release also describes launch-period offers, including V-Shield protection starting at ₹1,134 with a discount offer; check the retailer’s current terms before relying on any offer.
A vivo shop snapshot listed the V50 8GB+256GB at ₹42,999 but marked that selected configuration unavailable. That snapshot is not a verified street price and should not be directly compared with the V80’s launch price. Check live stock and the final checkout price for the exact configuration and seller.

What changes between the screens?
The V50’s 6.77-inch display is physically larger than the V80’s 6.59-inch panel. The V80 has more pixels—2750 × 1260 versus 2392 × 1080—and a higher listed maximum refresh rate: up to 144 Hz versus up to 120 Hz. vivo says 144 Hz support is limited to selected applications, so it should not be assumed to apply everywhere.

How do the cameras differ?
V50: an ultra-wide option
vivo lists a 50 MP main camera with OIS and a 50 MP autofocus ultra-wide camera with a 119.4° field of view. An ultra-wide lens gives you a different framing option for broad scenes or groups.
V80: telephoto zoom and video features
vivo highlights a 50 MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom and OIS, along with 4K cinematic video and 4K recording at 60fps. Telephoto framing serves a different purpose from an ultra-wide camera: it lets you frame more tightly without relying only on cropping.

These feature lists do not establish comparative image quality, low-light results or video performance. No independent camera testing is cited here, so choose based on the camera type and video modes you expect to use rather than an assumed quality advantage.
Battery, processor and software
The V80 lists a 7200 mAh typical battery capacity (7015 mAh rated), compared with the V50’s 6000 mAh typical capacity. Both list 90W charging. Capacity alone cannot predict real-world endurance, and charging results vary with use and conditions.

vivo lists the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for the V80 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 for the V50. It lists OriginOS 7 with Android 17 for the V80 and Funtouch OS 15 with Android 15 for the V50. These are the software and processor listings in the cited India materials; no benchmark comparison or separately verified update-policy comparison is available here.
Which phone makes more sense for you?
Consider the V50 if
- You want the lower India launch price.
- You prefer the larger 6.77-inch screen.
- You want a listed 50 MP ultra-wide camera.
- You find a suitable current price and confirmed stock for the configuration you want.
Consider the V80 if
- You value its higher-resolution display and up-to-144-Hz refresh rate, bearing in mind the selected-app restriction.
- You prefer the listed larger battery capacity and newer listed processor and software versions.
- You would use a 3× optical telephoto camera or its stated 4K video features.
- Those features justify paying more at the price available from your seller.
There is no evidence here for an unconditional overall winner: the V80’s higher launch price buys a different set of listed features, while the V50 has a larger display and lower launch price. Compare current prices for the same RAM and storage tier before deciding.
India availability and price checks
In its October 6, 2026 announcement, vivo scheduled V80 sales to start on October 13, 2026 through partner retail, vivo’s website, Flipkart and Amazon. The announcement establishes a scheduled launch, not general availability or live stock at any particular seller. Check the current listing, warranty terms and final transaction price before ordering. Specifications and offers can vary by market and may change.
