Neither phone wins on the evidence available. Motorola’s Edge 70 Fusion lists the bigger battery and the faster 144Hz display, while vivo’s V50 lists faster charging, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP front camera. On the official India pages checked on October 7, 2026, the Motorola page shows ₹30,999 against a ₹42,999 MRP, but it also reports the phone as currently out of stock. vivo’s 8GB+256GB variant is listed at ₹42,999. That ₹12,000 gap is a snapshot of two listings for different configurations, not a verified saving, and the specification sheets cannot tell you which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in daily use.

Price: launch figures, current snapshot, and what the gap means
vivo V50 launch prices (February 2025)
vivo announced the V50 in India on February 17, 2025, with sales starting February 25, 2025. Launch prices were:
Recommended Free Tools
- ₹34,999 for 8GB+128GB
- ₹36,999 for 8GB+256GB
- ₹40,999 for 12GB+512GB
These are historical figures. The launch announcement also mentioned TWS 3e earbuds and V-Shield screen damage protection as launch offers. Those were time-limited, so they should not be counted in today’s price.

Current official-page prices (October 7, 2026)
On vivo’s online store, the V50 was displayed at ₹42,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹48,999 for 12GB+512GB. The 8GB+128GB model that launched at ₹34,999 did not appear in that snapshot, so do not assume it is still sold at launch pricing. On Motorola’s India page, the Edge 70 Fusion was displayed at ₹30,999 against a ₹42,999 MRP, with a stock notice saying it is currently out of stock.
Why the ₹12,000 gap is not a buying discount
The ₹12,000 difference compares Motorola’s displayed price with vivo’s 8GB+256GB price, but the two listings are not the same configuration, and Motorola’s listing shows no stock. Motorola’s page also lists its storage details inconsistently between the configuration selector and the specification block. Treat the figures as a dated page-price snapshot. Before buying, check the live product page and any retailer listing to confirm the exact RAM and storage, the seller, and whether the phone can be ordered at all. This comparison did not verify current marketplace or retailer prices.

Performance and software
Chipset and memory
The V50 uses Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and the Edge 70 Fusion uses Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, and both pages list 8GB or 12GB of RAM. The chipset names alone do not show which phone is faster in everyday use. No benchmark or hands-on test was available for this comparison, so any claim that one is quicker is unsupported. For a fair reading, match the variant: vivo’s store lists 8GB and 12GB options, and Motorola’s page lists 8GB and 12GB as well, with storage shown differently across its selector and detail block.

vivo’s launch announcement says the V50 gets three years of OS updates and four years of security updates. Motorola’s product page lists Android 16 but does not state a support period. Do not read that as Motorola offering less support, or as matching vivo’s commitment. The gap is simply that the Motorola page checked does not say. If update length matters to you, check Motorola’s support policy for this model before buying.

Display
The V50 has a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel at 2392 × 1080. The Edge 70 Fusion has a larger 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED panel at 2772 × 1272, with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and peak brightness that Motorola lists at up to 5200 nits. The Motorola panel is the higher-resolution and higher-refresh option on paper. Peak brightness is a manufacturer maximum, not a measured figure for typical viewing, and no independent display test was available, so the specification sheets do not show which screen looks better in practice.
Cameras
Main and ultrawide cameras
Both phones list a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation. Motorola names the Sony LYTIA 710 sensor. The ultrawide cameras differ more: vivo lists a 50MP autofocus ultrawide with a 119.4° field of view, while Motorola lists a 13MP ultrawide with a 120° field of view and macro vision. A higher megapixel count does not guarantee better images, and no comparative camera test was available, so treat the difference as a hardware specification, not a photo-quality verdict.

Front camera and vendor imaging claims
vivo lists a 50MP autofocus front camera, against a 32MP front camera on the Motorola. vivo’s newsroom also describes ZEISS co-engineered imaging, portrait focal-length options and a Wedding Portrait Studio feature. These are the company’s own descriptions of its camera features and have not been independently tested here.

Battery capacity and charging speed
The Edge 70 Fusion has the larger battery, at 7000mAh against the V50’s 6000mAh. The V50 charges faster on paper, at 90W FlashCharge against Motorola’s 68W TurboPower. Capacity and wattage are specification figures. They do not show how long either phone lasts under your use, or how long a full charge takes in practice.
Best Value
- Wonderful Design - USTIYA designed case for Vivo V50 Lite 5G allows perfect display of the phone's appearance, allowing you to appreciate its beauty and design. It shows the original color of the phone.
- The combination of flexible TPU and shock absorbing Four Corners helps protect your Vivo V50 Lite 5G from drops and other impacts
- Its design with micro dots on the inside prevents the wet and sticky appearance, so common among transparent cases, thus helping to maintain the beautiful design for Vivo V50 Lite 5G
- The matte side strips of the edge can increase the stability of the grip of the mobile phone, making it comfortable to hold and preventing it from slipping, while also preventing phone corrosion from hand sweat. Easy to clean, you only need to gently wipe it with a damp cloth to remove stains and dirt.
- DIY customization: due to the special material of the transparent phone case, you can stick photos, patterns, etc. that you like on the back of the phone to personalize it and reflect your style and personality.
Water resistance and ruggedness
Both manufacturers list IP68 and IP69 ratings. vivo states the phone is IP68 and IP69 rated, but cautions that water resistance is not permanent, may decline with wear, and that liquid damage is not covered by warranty. Motorola’s page also lists Gorilla Glass 7i and MIL-STD 810H. MIL-STD 810H is a test standard that Motorola cites, so it does not guarantee durability in every drop, temperature or wet condition beyond the maker’s stated conditions.
Quick Recap
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the Edge 70 Fusion if the battery size, the 144Hz display and the lower displayed price matter most, and if you can confirm it is in stock at that price.
- Choose the V50 if you value faster charging, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP front camera, or if you want vivo’s stated three-year OS and four-year security support.
- Decide on price only after checking the exact variant, the seller and current stock, because the ₹12,000 gap depends on an out-of-stock listing and mismatched configurations.
Limits of this comparison
- Every specification and price here comes from each manufacturer’s own India pages or launch announcement, checked on October 7, 2026. Live prices and stock may have changed.
- No independent benchmark, battery test, display measurement or camera comparison was available, so no winner is declared on performance, screen quality or photo quality.
- Motorola’s page lists storage details inconsistently, so confirm the exact variant on the live product page before comparing prices.
