India launch prices: what the ₹2,000 difference compares
vivo India Newsroom announced the V40 prices on August 7, 2024, and the V60 prices on August 12, 2025. The amounts below are launch prices, not a guarantee of what either phone costs now.

This comparison is for the India V40 and V60—not Pro, Lite, or other similarly named models. The figures are from vivo’s India specification pages; they describe listed hardware, not independent performance tests.

Which phone makes more sense for your priorities?
Choose the V60 if you want a dedicated telephoto camera
The V60 lists a 50 MP ZEISS super-telephoto rear camera, in addition to its main and ultra-wide cameras. That gives it a dedicated telephoto option that the V40’s listed rear-camera setup does not have. The V40 instead lists a 50 MP autofocus wide-angle camera. Camera resolution and lens count alone do not establish which phone takes better photos; choose based on the camera types you expect to use.
Choose the V40 if display resolution matters more to you
The V40’s listed 2800 × 1260 resolution is higher than the V60’s 2392 × 1080, while both India pages list AMOLED panels with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. The V60 lists a higher local peak-brightness figure—5000 nits versus 4500 nits for the V40. Peak-brightness specifications do not determine how either screen compares in every setting, so these numbers are best treated as distinct trade-offs rather than an overall display verdict.

Consider the V60 for larger rated battery capacity and faster charging support
vivo lists a 6500 mAh battery and 90 W charging for the V60, compared with 5500 mAh and 80 W for the V40. These are capacity and supported-power specifications; they do not establish real-world battery life or the time required to recharge. Actual use and charging conditions matter.
Compare the exact memory tier before paying more
Both phones have launch prices for 8 GB + 128 GB and 8 GB + 256 GB variants. The V60’s announced range also includes 12 GB + 256 GB and 16 GB + 512 GB, while the V40 announcement lists 12 GB + 512 GB. Match RAM and storage, not just the phone name, when assessing price and whether a particular configuration suits your needs.
