The vivo V40 is the camera-focused choice, with three 50 MP cameras and ZEISS branding; the vivo T5 5G emphasizes a larger, higher-refresh-rate display and a 7,050 mAh listed battery. On vivo India Store, checked October 4, 2026, the selected V40 configuration was ₹8,000 more than the selected T5—but those listings have different RAM and storage, so the gap is not a like-for-like price comparison.
vivo V40 vs vivo T5 5G – Specs Comparison, Price Difference
This comparison is for India and uses the specifications on vivo’s current product and store pages. The T5’s separate parameter page conflicts with those listings on important hardware, so its figures below should be treated as the current product/store specification set, not as a discrepancy-free confirmation of every retail unit.

| Selected listing on vivo India Store | Displayed price on October 4, 2026 | Configuration |
|---|---|---|
| vivo V40 | ₹42,999 | 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, Titanium Grey |
| vivo T5 5G | ₹34,999 | 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, Royal Bronze |
| Difference | ₹8,000; V40 higher | Different configurations; not a matched-tier comparison |
These are displayed store prices, not permanent or universal prices. The pages also show MRP and discount context; check current price, stock and offer terms before buying. The store lists V40 variants in 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB, and T5 variants in 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. For a fairer value comparison, compare the closest available RAM/storage tier and keep sale prices separate from MRP. Specifications that matter in daily use
| Specification | vivo V40 | vivo T5 5G | What it means for the choice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Processor | Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 | MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo on the current product page and store listing | These are different chips; the cited manufacturer pages do not establish a comparable performance winner. |
| Display | 6.78-inch AMOLED; 2800 × 1260; 120 Hz | 6.83-inch AMOLED; 2800 × 1260; up to 144 Hz | T5 lists a slightly larger display and higher refresh-rate ceiling. Actual refresh rate depends on supported content and settings. |
| Rear cameras | 50 MP main with autofocus and OIS, ZEISS; 50 MP autofocus ultrawide, ZEISS | 50 MP Sony IMX882 main with OIS; 8 MP ultrawide | V40 has the higher-resolution listed ultrawide and ZEISS camera branding; resolution and branding alone do not establish better photos. |
| Front camera | 50 MP autofocus, ZEISS | 32 MP | V40 lists the higher-resolution selfie camera and autofocus. |
| Battery and charging | 5,500 mAh typical; 80 W charging | 7,050 mAh; 44 W charging | T5 lists greater capacity; V40 lists higher charging wattage. Neither figure alone proves runtime or charging time. |
| Weight | 190 g | 199 g | V40 is 9 g lighter in the listed specifications. |
| Software listed for India | Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 | Product page lists OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 | Confirm the shipped software for the exact India retail SKU; regional software details can matter. |
| Water and dust resistance | IP68 | IP68 and IP69 | T5 lists an additional ingress-protection rating; ratings do not remove the need to follow care guidance or warranty terms. |
Specifications are from vivo India’s V40 page, T5 parameter page, and T5 product page. These are manufacturer listings rather than independent comparative tests. No comparable independent benchmark or camera sample test is established here, so the chip, camera and battery specifications should not be turned into a claim that one phone is universally faster, takes better photos or lasts longer.

Important vivo T5 5G specification discrepancy
The T5 product page and store listing agree on a Dimensity 7500 Turbo processor, 7,050 mAh battery, 6.83-inch AMOLED display at 2800 × 1260, and 50 MP + 8 MP rear cameras. The separate parameter page also includes a section listing a Dimensity 7400-Turbo, 7,200 mAh battery, LCD display and a different camera combination. That same parameter page has another section with the 7500 Turbo and 7,050 mAh set. This is an inconsistency across vivo’s own pages; it does not, by itself, establish that the phone’s hardware changed. Check the exact retail SKU with vivo or the seller if those details determine your purchase.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the vivo V40 if camera hardware and handling come first
- You want the listed 50 MP ZEISS main, ultrawide and autofocus front-camera setup.
- You value a lighter listed weight or higher rated charging wattage.
- You are comparing the camera hardware on paper and understand that the specs do not substitute for side-by-side photo testing.
See the vivo V40 listing for current configurations and price.

Choose the vivo T5 5G if capacity, display refresh rate or entry price matter more
- You prioritize its higher listed battery capacity or up-to-144 Hz refresh-rate ceiling.
- You want the larger listed screen or IP69 in addition to IP68.
- You prefer the lower selected-listing price, while accounting for the fact that the displayed T5 price is for less RAM and storage than the selected V40 listing.
Because of the official page inconsistency, verify the T5’s exact hardware and software for the configuration being sold. See the vivo T5 5G listing for current variants and price.

vivo’s T5 product page claims: “Three generations of Android OS upgrades plus five years of security patch updates keep your phone current and protected.” This is the manufacturer’s stated policy, not an independent guarantee; confirm that it applies to the India retail SKU. The V40 India parameter page lists Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14, while the T5 product page lists OriginOS 6 based on Android 16.

For water resistance, an IP rating describes protection under specified test conditions; it is not a promise that damage from every liquid exposure is covered. Water resistance can diminish with wear, and warranty coverage for liquid damage may be limited. Check vivo’s warranty terms and care guidance before exposing either phone to water.
