For an India buyer choosing between the two, the vivo T4 Pro is the better fit for battery capacity, faster charging and 3× optical zoom; the vivo V40 is the better fit for a higher-resolution display, an ultra-wide rear camera and a higher-resolution autofocus selfie camera. On vivo India Store listings accessed on 8 October 2026, both phones with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage had a ₹13,000 price difference: ₹29,999 for the T4 Pro and ₹42,999 for the V40. Which phone has the better cameras?
Choose the V40 for ultra-wide photos and selfies
The V40 gives you an ultra-wide rear camera, which is useful for fitting more of a landscape, group or cramped interior into a frame. Its front camera is listed at 50MP with autofocus and a 92-degree field of view, compared with the T4 Pro’s 32MP, 72-degree selfie camera. Those figures describe resolution and field of view; they do not, by themselves, establish which phone takes better-looking photos.

The T4 Pro has a dedicated periscope telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom. That gives it a hardware option for bringing distant subjects closer, while the V40’s listed rear cameras are a main and ultra-wide pair. The T4 Pro does not list a rear ultra-wide camera. There is no matched test establishing which phone produces better overall images.

Which display is better for you?
Both phones have AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and nearly identical diagonal sizes. The V40’s listed resolution is 2800 × 1260, higher than the T4 Pro’s 2392 × 1080, so it offers more pixels for fine detail. vivo lists 4500 nits local peak brightness for the V40 and 1500 nits HBM for the T4 Pro. Those brightness labels describe different measurement types, so they should not be treated as a direct like-for-like brightness comparison.
Battery, charging and build
The T4 Pro has a listed 6500mAh battery and 90W charging, against the V40’s 5500mAh and 80W. That gives the T4 Pro the larger rated capacity and higher rated charging power, but the figures do not establish actual battery life or charging time in everyday use.

The V40 is listed at 190g with a glass back; the T4 Pro is 192g with a plastic-composite back. The weight difference is small, while the back materials are distinct.
Processor, software and update support
The T4 Pro’s listed Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and Android 15/Funtouch OS 15 are newer generations than the V40’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and Android 14/Funtouch OS 14. A newer listed generation is not proof of a particular real-world speed advantage; no controlled head-to-head performance test is established here.

vivo India’s T4 Pro store listing states four years of Android OS updates and six years of security updates. The retrieved official V40 specification page does not state an update-duration commitment. That absence is not evidence that the V40 receives no updates.
Price difference in India
On vivo India Store listings accessed on 8 October 2026, the V40 8GB+256GB Titanium Grey was listed at ₹42,999 and the T4 Pro 8GB+256GB at ₹29,999. For those matching RAM and storage configurations, the listed difference was ₹13,000 in favour of the T4 Pro. These are dated listing snapshots, not guaranteed current prices or offers.

The T4 Pro 8GB+128GB Nitro Blue was listed at ₹27,999 but marked out of stock in the same store snapshot, so it is not a like-for-like price comparison with the V40’s 256GB variant. Check the live listing and inventory before buying: V40 8GB+256GB, T4 Pro 8GB+256GB and T4 Pro 8GB+128GB.

- Buy the vivo V40 if you value the ultra-wide rear camera, a 50MP autofocus selfie camera, a higher-resolution display or a glass back.
- Buy the vivo T4 Pro if you want a larger rated battery, 90W charging, a dedicated 3× optical periscope camera, a newer listed platform and the lower matched-variant store price snapshot.
Neither is an across-the-board winner: the decision comes down to whether the V40’s ultra-wide and display advantages matter more to you than the T4 Pro’s zoom, battery and price.
