For the same 8GB+128GB 5G configuration, vivo India’s store listed the V30 at ₹38,999 and the V40 at ₹39,999 on 4 October 2026—a ₹1,000 difference. Both selected variants were marked unavailable when checked, so these are dated listing prices, not a promise of current stock or price. The V40’s published specifications add a larger battery, ZEISS-branded camera features and an IP68 claim; the phones share the same listed processor and core display specifications.

What is the price difference?
On 4 October 2026, vivo India’s official store listed the V40 8GB+128GB 5G at ₹39,999 and the matching V30 at ₹38,999, making the V40 ₹1,000 more. Both selected colour variants were shown as unavailable when those pages were accessed: V30 listing and V40 listing. Check the live listing, stock, storage tier and seller before buying; the figures are not launch prices, an all-market comparison or a current availability guarantee.
Where the specifications differ
Battery capacity and charging
The V40 lists a 5,500mAh typical battery, compared with 5,000mAh typical for the V30. That is 500mAh more rated capacity, while both list charging support up to 80W. Capacity alone does not establish how long either phone lasts in real use or how quickly it charges: vivo notes that charging behavior can vary with the charger, usage, battery level and environment (V30 product information).

Camera features
The listed camera hardware is similar on paper: both have a 50MP autofocus front camera and rear 50MP OIS main plus 50MP autofocus wide-angle cameras. vivo’s V40 materials explicitly attach ZEISS branding to its front and rear cameras and highlight portrait features, including group-selfie and portrait tools (V40 specifications; V40 overview). Those published features do not by themselves show that the V40 takes better photos; no side-by-side camera test is established here.
Water and dust protection
vivo’s India V40 store listing claims IP68 dust and water resistance (V40 store listing). That is a manufacturer claim, not an independent durability result or a guarantee against damage. The reviewed V30 India store listing did not identify an IP68 claim, which should not be read as proof about every V30 variant or region.

What is the same?
Both models list Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and a 6.78-inch, 2800 × 1260 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate (V30 specifications; V40 specifications). The specifications support saying their listed platform and core display figures match; they do not establish identical performance, image quality or user experience.
Which one should you choose?
Consider the vivo V40 if…
- You value the larger listed battery capacity.
- You want the V40’s ZEISS-branded camera features and portrait tools.
- The manufacturer’s IP68 claim matters to you, and the live price is close to the V30’s.
This is a specifications-based choice, not a claim that the V40 has been proven to last longer, take better photos or withstand more in independent testing.
