The campaign was announced on October 8, 2026, and presents the phone as a tool for capturing, creating and sharing the small moments that happen along the way. The phone’s features, India prices and planned sale date were set out separately in a launch release dated October 6, 2026. This article covers what the campaign shows, what vivo claims about the V80, and which of those claims need qualifying before you rely on them.
What the campaign shows
The campaign follows the two actors on a trip home for the festival, focusing on the people, places and moments they meet along the route. vivo frames the story around content creation as part of everyday festive travel: a spontaneous conversation or a passing scene can become something worth recording and sharing. vivo says the campaign will be amplified across digital and social platforms. Malhotra also shared glimpses of his own journey captured on the V80, according to the October 8 campaign release.

The campaign is vivo’s own description of how it wants the V80 to be understood. It is not an independent assessment of the phone, and the release does not report any measure of how far the campaign has reached or how audiences responded.
What the two ambassadors and vivo India said
In the campaign release, Malhotra and Advani describe the idea this way:

The camera and video features vivo is promoting
The October 8 campaign release highlights four imaging features. Each is described below using vivo’s own wording and figures.
4K Cinematic Video
vivo says the feature offers three in-camera looks: Modern Movie, Vibrant and Pastel. The October 6 launch release also lists 4K recording at 60 fps. vivo’s product parameter page lists 4K and 1080P as video recording resolutions. These are manufacturer specifications, not measured results.
AI Creative Camera
The campaign release describes the AI Creative Camera as offering more than 30 AI features. The launch release adds other AI editing and creative functions without listing them in full, so the 30-plus count is vivo’s figure for the feature set as a whole.

AI Diwali Portrait 2.0
vivo names this portrait feature in the campaign release. The materials reviewed for this article do not describe how it works or how it differs from earlier portrait modes, so treat it as a named feature rather than a documented capability.

50 MP ZEISS Night Telephoto Camera
The launch release describes a 50 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and vivo’s product parameter page lists a 50 MP telephoto unit with OIS. The campaign calls it the ZEISS Night Telephoto Camera. The “night” wording is vivo’s branding, and no low-light sample results or test conditions are published alongside it.

vivo says the V80 is planned to go on sale from October 13, 2026, through partner retail stores, vivo’s official website, Flipkart and Amazon. That date is still ahead of this article’s publication date of October 9, 2026, and the materials do not confirm that live listings or stock will be in place on that day. Treat the prices as announced figures until you see them on a live product page.

Launch offers and the JioHotstar discount
The launch release describes bank discounts, exchange bonuses, warranty coverage and Google One storage as launch offers. These are provided by retailers or other partners, and each comes with its own terms and validity period. Confirm the conditions with the seller before counting on any of them.
The release also announces a 50% discount on two annual JioHotstar plans for eligible V80 buyers:
- The INR 499 Mobile Plan at INR 249.50.
- The INR 1,099 Super Plan at INR 549.50.
The release says this offer was not live when it was published, that the exact launch date is not guaranteed, and that it applies to people who are not already subscribers. JioHotstar’s own terms apply. Do not assume the discount is active until the offer is visible and you have checked your eligibility.
